My experience with BBPD has been disorganized, unprofessional, and deeply disappointing. Months ago, I confirmed by phone that BBPD accepts out‑of‑state consignments, including lingerie. I followed up by email on December 19, 2025, and at no point was I informed that consignment items must have tags attached--an unusual requirement for resale, especially for high‑end nightgowns and robes that were gifted and barely worn. My items were delivered to the Lilburn store on December 27, 2025, at 11:14 a.m. Despite multiple attempts to get an update, no one has been able to tell me where my items are or why I was never contacted if they were deemed unacceptable. My consignment contract included my full name, email address, phone number and physical address and was emailed directly to BBPD's business email address. When I finally reached an employee, they confirmed they received my items, but I was told the items could not be accepted due to missing tags, yet staff strangely could not locate my items for return. This is unacceptable. To date, I have received no explanation and no resolution. read more

I have been looking for a dress to wear to my daughter's wedding. I didn't realize finding the right dress would be so difficult. Four malls and several other stores later, I ended up at Back by Popular Demand. And I'm so glad I did. Not only did I find the dress that I will wear to her wedding, it was new with tags still on it. At a fraction of the price on the tag. In addition that dress, I found several other great ones that are perfect for some upcoming events I have with my husband. The store is well laid out and easy to shop. I love this place I always find a bunch of things that are reasonably priced They are organized and have everything laid out perfectly The dressing rooms can be a little awkward as they have two private ones (maybe more) and then kind of a communal one. They have a dress section which I love. I never fit into the shoes which is always a downside but I have huge feet so I really can't blame anybody for that other then my parents. I usually try to stop in here every couple of months so they can recycle the clothes that come in. I usually spend$150 worth and have a ton to show for it. They give you store credit when you spend a certain amount so that you can use it when you come back. Don't lose it though. I'll be stopping in after this quarantine probably four sizes up but I'm sure they will have enough to keep me happy! read more

I have purchased from BBPD for the last eight years. I purchase more from Marietta than Lilburn. I can honestly say that I have never had a problem with the Marietta location. However, I have had several problems with the Lilburn location particularly with shoes. Now I know that I'm taking a chance when ordering online. I never knew that all sales were final because I only remember having to return something once in all my purchases. I received a pair of boots for Lilburn in the mail that are marked as my perfect size. I cannot even get a foot in the boot. Find out today that all sales are final. Well, that is it and that is all. If you're willing to take your time and look through the selections you will find some reasonable gems that you can feel good about spending your money on. I've been consigning my clothes at the Marietta location for years. It used to be both an enjoyable shopping and consigning experience. There has been a huge shift the last couple years. Sadly every time I come in, it's been anything but welcoming. The employees that actually take the consignments have been so rude and watch as I struggle to open the door and carry in clothes. Helping by opening a door is common curtesy or a simple hello greeting is not difficult. My friends that I referred to the store have had the same experience as I have and refuse to ever consign their clothes with them which is sad for the store as they have all designer, in excellent condition pieces. What these employees fail to see is this is a win/win scenario- they aren't doing US a favor. Both the store and the consignor are making money. It's not difficult to be kind, respectful and helpful. I'm done with this place as there are many other consignment stores that are kind while making it a pleasant experience. I love this place! I was desperately in need of jeans, but my budget wasn't feeling a brand-new pair. I tried checking Goodwill for a hand-me-down pair, but hunting through rack upon rack of clothes that have no discernible organization system was a nightmare. I heard about BbPD from a friend and was told they had a pretty extensive plus-size selection, so I decided to check it out. The store is right on Highway 29 in Lilburn; I had literally driven by it a hundred times without stopping, because the sign out front looks like it's a store for teenagers, with a sort of iPod-esque silhouette thing going on. Once inside, though, there are racks upon racks of clothing, all organized by size and either "Tops," "Bottoms," or "Dresses." Score! I was able to find what I was looking for (and more) simply and quickly. They have also got an extensive selection of shoes and accessories, so don't limit yourself! In two trips there, I have picked up three pairs of jeans, two sweaters, two pairs of dress slacks, sunglasses, a Nine West clutch with its original tags, and a pair of stylish heeled loafers, all for less than $130. That's right, even if you ignore all the accessories, I still spent less than $20 per garment. Once you roll in the other things, that's an average of $13 per item. Also, you get a $1 off coupon for every $20 that you spend, so you can come back with a little credit on your next trip. It may not be super cheap for a second hand store, but you're also paying for the quality of the items, and the organization of the store. Always enjoy shopping here. Sometimes the pricing is hit and miss, which is really my only complaint. Why charge 30 dollars for a used pair of jeans when I can buy a new pair for 35? Other than the pricing, I find that the tops and blouses are usually appropriately priced, and older seasoned fashion is almost always under 10 dollars. The interior of this shop is lovely and charming They have a juniors and ladies department and a fully stocked formal dress department, which my grandmother found her beautiful marriage renewal gown at for about 50 dollars. One comment about the interior is that the dressing rooms don't have very long covers for the doorways. I don't especially prefer that I'm barely covered while I'm trying on clothing. Years ago, the junior department downstairs had a few more dressing rooms, but now they're all located upstairs and in the ladies department. I loved shopping here, but as a consignor, I havent had a good experience. Brought a ton of stuff in. They accepted an entire basket full of clothes. Then they call me a week later and say they can't take several pieces. Ok? So they want to know if I can pick up what they arent taking. Um no, I live 40 min away so they agreed to ship it back to me. So that was 2 months ago and I stopped in today to check my account. After over 2 months, they only have 8 pieces in my account and NOTHING has sold!? That's insane considering I left an entire basket of clothes they told me they were accepting. On top of all this, you can not pick up your belongings that dont sell! I wasn't crazy about that policy before I agreeing to it, but thinking they took a lot and most would sell, I just went ahead and consigned. I'm updating my review as I have recently sold some items. Let me first start by saying, this is a great place to shop if you are looking for discounted handbags, shoes, clothes, dresses, etc. I have found some great Coach items and shoes for work. As a consignor though, this place is hit or miss....Back by Popular Demand states they consign plus size clothing. I took in a huge storage bin full of barely worn plus size dress shirts, dresses, shorts, and pants (Belk, JcPenny, and Macy's brands) all of which had no stains, rips, or tears and the woman who did the intake took none of my clothes. She didn't offer me a reason or an explanation, she just said "I didn't take much." The store has tons of racks for smaller sizes but the plus size is only one rack and it has hit or miss items on it. I looked at the pants/shorts/skirts plus size rack and it was very limited with a lot of "matronly" looking clothes for older women. You would think with only one rack for plus sizes they would be willing to take in more consignment clothes from customers? As a consignor, I recently sold 4 pairs of shoes and sandals all of which had been worn once or twice, and some were brand new. I made a measly $20 off my shoes. I think I would have had better luck selling things on eBay than taking them here. Back by Popular Demand has monthly 50% off sales to get rid of inventory to make room for new items. This is probably why you don't make much money as a consignor. So, after my experience this summer of cleaning out my closet and bringing in tons of plus size clothing and the majority of my items being turned away I don't think I would ever consign here again. read more

Be warned, helmets required when shopping here! Found some $200 jeans for under $20. There are definitely some good finds if you have the time and patience to look. I'm unsatisfied with the amount of employee traffic through a crowded area of racks. Employees zoomed by continuously while we were shopping. I was with my sister who bent over to look at a bottom rack when an employee hit my sister in the head with a basket full of clothes. The girl was not very apologetic and my sister had a bruise and lump on her forehead the next day. They need to either put less popular clothing in this area of the store or have employees conduct that work in another manner when customers are not present. read more

I have been to both stores. I prefer the Marietta store because they have more designer labels, but Lilburn has a larger selection if you are looking for basics. I do wardrobe make overs and I take customers to these two stores when on a budget as they have clothing ranging from $5 and up. I have had no issues with the staff, they are happy to help when I needed something. The Lilburn store does receive Movie Wardrobes so I did find some fun items from the Hunger Games and other movies filmed here in Atlanta. Yes, the Lilburn store is PACKED with clothing and it can be overwhelming but I enjoy the hunt for fun, well-priced, designer items. If you prefer a more up-scale then go to the Marietta store, it has more of a boutique feel to it. read more

I've always found the items to be good quality at a very fair price, especially given the designer labels. They also pay consigners some of the highest rates around. I heard a lot about this store and decided to give it a chance. I read some reviews and hoped I would have a different experience; however, I did not. I entered the store and was never greeted. I shopped for about 20 mins and noticed another lady (who happened to be white) that had about 7 pieces. One of the employees (who were all white as well) walked over to her (she was only about 15 feet from me and another shopper -both black) and offered her a cart for her multiple items. Not once did the employee look in our direction or offer to assist us in any way. She immediately went back to the register and continued her conversation with her peer. I stayed for about 10 more mins and purposely walked past the register, with items in hand, to see if I would ever be acknowledged. Unfortunately, I was never acknowledged or assisted. I put my items back in their appropriate place and left. None of the employees noticed or acknowledged me leaving either. I will definitely not be returning to the Lawrenceville Hwy location. read more

Marietta - I dropped off stuff 2.5 months ago and requested my address be changed. I stopped in Friday and was told my address was changed, but my stuff was never put up for sale OR credited to my account! I was assured it would be found. Oh it was. Miraculously, today, I received a phone call telling me to "come get my stuff" - that it had stains. When I dropped off my items, there were no stains. The young lady that inspected my items went over them with a fine toothed comb and would not have accepted them if there were stains. Trust me. I've had dental work take less time. I was also told that they had called me numerous times regarding this drop off, and that normally it's just donated. Amazing. I've had the same phone number with them for over a year and this is the first time I've ever received a call from them! Unsurprisingly, I think they didn't record WHO the items belonged to and were waiting for the owner to come in and inquire. This last turn of events has pushed me from "formerly satisfied" to "sadly disappointed". To crop an attitude with someone that WAS your customer - is just poor business sense. Key word: WAS. To the reviewer that said they aren't overly picky, you must only bring in new items with tags on - for the items I bring in are carried 1-2 times, usually in dust bags and are still rejected with glee. Furthermore, I would expect if someone owns a business, they at least be literate. Some of their Facebook posts read at the level of a 5th grader. Spellcheck in Word, then post on Facebook if you're uncertain of your spelling/grammar abilities. read more

The Lilburn store is HUGE , Anything you could possibly need can be found in this shop. The staff is extremely helpful and polite, they greet you at the door and are ready to assist you right away! The Lilburn shop is organized beyond your wildest dreams, clothing by colors and sizes, shoes by sizes even the purses are organized by color! They also have a huge selection of plus size clothing and formal dresses and prom dresses.. if your younger or if you like to dress a bit hipper they have a huge junior store housing some of the best brands from Anthropologie, Miss Me and Coach. Now.. the Marietta store is my go to store when I am good girl and need a treat... Every designer you can imagine is packed in and on display at the Marietta location. From Nordstrom brands , Marc Jacobs to Chanel. If you love labels,You will LOVE this store. This store offers the same wonderful customer service and a organized shop. The prices are a bit higher at the Marietta location because of the designer labels but the deals are too good to be true! I have purchased many things that retailed from $200-$300 for around $50-$80... I have purchased three evening dresses From back by popular demand. The first dress was my daughter's sweet 16 evening gown the dress cost 150.00. The second dress was homecoming which I paid 200.00. The last dress junior prom 2017 the cost was 400.00. I never had a problem going into the store to purchase a dress. However with each dress I was told I can bring it back for consignment to put towards another dress. Every time I take a dress back I get an excuse of why they cannot except it even though the dress is in the same condition it was sold to me as well as in style. Today I took the $400 prom dress back to the store for consignment. The lady behind the front desk told me to leave the dress why I shop. I stood at the glass counter for ten minutes nobody assisted me. Equally important as soon as I walked away a white female approached the same counter there were three people trying to help her. The truth is as soon as I came in the store with my dress I was already stereotyped. Sadly she knew she would not accept the dress before she even looked at it even though I brought it from her.
