I've been a client of Back and Body Studio for many years. When I first found Mary and the studio my physician had told me I should retire from my job! I was 42 years old! I had some repetive motion problems and pain due to the nature if my work. A friend of mine told me about Mary and how much better they felt after seeing her! I had no other options and gave it a try. I have never meet anyone with a keener sense of anatomy and how the muscles of the body function. After working with her for a period of time and then doing some Pilates to strengthen my core as well as all of my other muscles I was convinced! I spoke to the owner about the old bad reviews here on yelp. I feel bad that the good reviews have been hidden by Yelp. Mary explained that her mom was very ill when she ran a few groupon coupon specials. She was having a kidney transplant. Mary simply could not keep up with the "one and done" appointments. I have been a member here since 2003 and love Mary. She is so knowledgeable and has helped me with my back and knee problems. Now I can bike and hike and play volleyball and soccer with my kids. I have referred my parents husband and friends to the the back clinic at Back and Body and they feel better as well. Now let's see if Yelp will publish my review. Great classes and privates. I have been doing Pilates at Back & Body for 8 years. After having an issue with my knee, my physical therapist recommended I try Pilates. The instructors at Back & Body helped with my injury and I have been there ever since. I have done classes, some private training and also muscle release when needed. Great studio. The first question when I arrive for a session is, "how do you feel today?" This helps me raise self awareness for my body. Instruction is clear and delivered in a way that I can easily follow. Instructors are knowledgeable about body mechanics, kind, and encouraging. I always leave feeling taller and lighter. When I found the website for this studio, I loved the concept of doing Pilates reformer in a small group. And they have all of the equipment not just reformers. So cool. Love Pam and Mary's classes on the reformers and towers. You get your own reformer, tower, mat, chair and small apparatus. Classes are less than $20/class with membership. And that is for the equipment. Great for people who have low back pain. Very knowledgeable staff. Not great for people looking for groupon deals. Love the reformer classes with towers and chairs. Marys classes rock. So do Pam's and Tiffany's classes. They have a ton of equipment and very knowledgeable teachers. I very reluctantly stumbled into taking pilates. After years of collegiate sports and associated injuries I decided I was ready to give it a shot. This place is awesome, the reformers make for a great core workout and my back and shoulder feel better than ever. The instructors are positive and knowledgable and the classes are small. I was told by my doctor that I had a weak core and I needed to take Pilates. He was very specific about Pilates on the equipment with a fully 750 hour trained instructor. I love Pilates on the equipment. I used to pay $90 per private session to use the reformer. Now I pay about $25/small class using reformer, tower, barrels chairs. The instructors are awesome! read more
