I cannot explain how incredibly grateful I am to Dr. Bacino and her entire staff. I found Dr. Bacino through friends, after I'd had an unimaginably bad experience with a different dentist, whom I had wanted to replace my old veneers (but he would only replace them if I did a full mouth restoration instead). I had trusted him to do the veneers, so I agreed to the full mouth restoration.
I ended up leaving the other dentist mid-treatment because the work was such a disaster. I was missing 5 back teeth that had been covered with a temporary cement that was done improperly and caused me a great deal of pain. I couldn't eat or chew (impossible with no back teeth) and I had paid a ton of money for work that was done incorrectly. That prior dentist refused to put in my new teeth unless I paid for an additional $12,000 in work, which included something called "crown lengthening". I thought it was unconscionable that a dentist could do this, so I left in tears and started calling my friends to help me find a new dentist.
My first appointment with Dr Bacino was a consultation so that she could see what had happened, assess what needed to be done, and make a plan. Even she was aghast at the state of my mouth. She was very caring with me (which I really needed at the time because I was terrified about what happened). She began by assessing the situation, taking lots of photos, sending me to an endodontist for some additional checks, and then we made a plan. She also confirmed that I did NOT need to have the "crown lengthening" work that the other dentist required before he'd put my new crowns in. What's so incredible about this is that he said that without this treatment, my back teeth would fall out in a year or two. That just simply wasn't true. All of teeth that Dr Bacino treated are fine. However, one that he put in has already fallen out. It only lasted 2.5 years. Just popped out while I was flossing.
Back to Dr. Bacino... She let me know that our first appointment would be very long, since she had to go in and clean out the old mess before she could replace the cement blobs with proper temporaries while waiting for new crowns to be made. She and her assistant, Francesca, came in on their day off to spend what turned out to be all day with me, working on the clean-up. They were both very caring and did an amazing job. As an aside, they have TVs in the ceiling and headsets for patients, so I could watch an entire first season of anything on Netflix while in the chair for such a long time. Nice touch.
In any event, Dr. Bacino ended up fixing my situation, and she and her staff are my heros. They are ALL very knowledgeable, caring and professional. They also educated me on what I was doing wrong - even though I was an incessant flosser, I wasn't doing it properly, nor was I doing it at the right times. They told me what to do, I've done it, and it makes all of my cleanings so much easier on me! They also gave me pointers on my electric toothbrush. It turns out that there is a process for those as well. I feel like so many dentists just tell people to "floss and use an electric toothbrush" but there are lots of nuances, and Dr. Bacino & her team are happy to share.
Dr. Bacino fixed my teeth over 2 years ago, I've been following her advice ever since and have had nothing but positive experiences. My teeth and gums are the healthiest they've ever been, and I attribute it all to Dr. Bacino and her team. I highly recommend her!
