My experience with DART is primarily the new Silver Line. As a business traveler, I am at DFW…read moreseveral times a month. The Silver Line has been an incredibly convenient way for me to quickly get to the airport without the hassle of finding a parking spot or the associated expense. The train drops off at Terminal B. It's a quick 3 minute walk from the train station into the airport terminal, where you head up one level to check in, check any bags, and head into TSA security. That security checkpoint offers "TSA lite" where you get a pass to hand to TSA officers to keep items in bags and head through the normal metal detector. The downside of the train at DFW is if you have checked bags; if you come into any other terminal than terminal B, you'd have to exit the terminal, collect bags, then take the free shuttle bus service over to terminal B. At that point, lugging around checked bags, the convenience of the train is lost and it'd be much more worthwhile to take a rideshare. The Silver Line trains run on-time (sometimes a minute or two early, so... be early for the train) - just the ability to count on trains running per a published schedule is welcome change from many other cities I've lived in. The train is very clean, and I absolutely love the tables so I can pop open my laptop and squeeze in 40 minutes of work. I also like the ability to purchase & activate passes from my phone - fare officers checking for passes have been courteous and polite. In fact, every DART employee I've been near has greeted me, smiled, said hello, and asked how my trip was. It really feels they are working hard to make this a great experience for riders. A big downside is the schedule - every 15 minutes would be much more ideal. Having to wait an hour for the next train is brutal after a long travel day, but impossible if you're on your way to DFW and can't miss your flight. I really love taking the train so right now, when I arrive back at DFW, I get myself to Terminal B and hang out at Cantina Laredo (B29) until about 10 minutes prior to the train departure. Outside of the Silver Line, I've noticed that DART has made big improvements to the bus stations around where I live. They used to just be sad benches. Now many of the stations in my area are covered and semi-enclosed, protecting waiting riders from the heat, rain, and wind. I know I'm one of the few proponents of public transportation in the area where I live, but I do dream of being able to (easily) take the rail to sporting events, restaurants closer to the downtown area, or to big events like the State Fair. It would be wonderful to continue to expand on the Silver Line.

Hey I'mma tell yovu right now! This was my first time ever in my life getting on a train. And boy…read morewas it a great experience. You pull up to the parking lot, park you car. Simply walk up the stairs and pay 5 bucks for an all day pass. Once you get on the train, it tells you exactly where to you need to get off at . We were headed to Fair Park, and the train dropped us off right in front! Now the cool thing about this is the drop off for AA Center. There is a stop that puts you at the front entrance of AA. How cool is that. It was a smooth ride that took about 20 minutes. This is a great tool for everyone to take advantage of! It saves of wear and tare of your car, its way cheapier than driving, saves you time, and its stress free. The train was clean and very well kept up! There is map of everywhere the train goes and its easy to read and follow. Also there's a little lady that talks to you as upcoming stops are approching, so there's no need to be affraid of using this amazing transporation device. More people should take advantage of this.

Dropped my car off for service at a local shop and figured I'd "be green" and take Dart back home…read more Plus I didn't have to bother or wait on anyone else. Enjoyed that it's an elevated station. Train arrived when the signs said it would. Why not 5 stars? Well the station gets that. Dart on the other hand....the train went to Victory station as it's last stop, no big deal that happens all the time and you have to switch trains. Dart was doing major repairs on the line between Pearl and West End and NO trains were running between those stops. No signs at Victory station by the train itself. Finally figured out there was bus service over to Pearl. Course the bus decided to stop at West End for maybe 10+ minutes? So I just walked the rest of the way to Pearl where I caught the next train. At Pearl, they had LOTS of signs telling everyone what was going on. why not duplicate that at Victory? Dart is almost always awesome! This time, not so much.

What an amazing free service in the McKinney Avenue area of downtown. Essentially you just find a…read moretrolley stop and wait for a trolley to come by and pick you up. Depending on the route you take it takes 30 minutes to an hour to make the full circle. The trolley drivers are super friendly and knowledgeable and make the ride a lot of fun!

The…read moretop of the trolley loop goes around West Village so we use the parking garage there as a starting place and hop on at the stop outside of Starbucks. From there the trolley heads down Mckinney Ave to downtown and circling back by Klyde Warren Park. Easy to hop on and off as your night dictates, but important to know that they trolley will only stop if you are standing and waiting at the designated trolley stop. To exit simply ring the bell and the conductor will stop when available to do so.

DART is efficient and clean, one of the best municipal rail systems I have ridden. I usually get a $3 day pass, which gets me wherever I am going when visiting Dallas. My wife, daughter, and grandson used TRE to go to the State Fair. We left Bell station around 9 am…read morethe last Saturday of the fair. I use a walker as I have had a stroke. I want to thank the staff for making my trip easier than I anticipated. They held the train for 5 minutes for me to walk to the handicapped entrance and showed my daughter how to purchase tickets online after we boarded. We returned around 7 pm and experienced the same service. Thanks again TRE for making an 82-year-old man's day at the fair outstanding.
