Came here for lunch after seeing the high rating. The meal that we ordered was disappointing. The first bite of the chicken was dry and harden. The rest of the meat was tasteless. We also got a wrap, the chicken was also tasteless and the wrap is super dry. There's usually hummus in the wraps, but not at this location. For the price you pay, the portion is quite small. It's a simple establishment in what seemed to be a pretty hip neighborhood (one which I wish I had more time to explore. Ordered the shish-taouk plate which was really good, popping with subtle flavors. Put a piece of chicken, potato, rice, hummus, on every forkful and enjoyed an array of refined flavors with every bite. The whole group enjoyed their meals as well. Really good shawarma. Chicken is super moist, which can be rare amongst Shawarma joints. The potatoes were SO good. Super crisp and puffy. This would have been an easy 5-star if not for two reasons: small portions + high prices. Still, there's nowhere else I'd suggest anyone to eat in this area of Quebec City rather than Bachir. Super yummy food - we love Middle Eastern cuisine and definitely eat it regularly in our home town. After being on the road for a few months, we were both craving some of our favorite. Bachir got rave reviews so decided it was worth a try. We happened to be staying at a hotel super close, so it couldn't have been more convenient. I opted for a smaller sandwich - a 6 inch Shwarma while my husband went for the full on platter of Shwarma. Mine was excellent. But, I missed some of the other goodies. The potatoes.... wow.... the potatoes. Cooked just the way we like them. Nice and crisp on the outside but soft on the inside. And the tomato/cucumber salad. Also delish. The owner and his wife are very personable and take pride in the authenticity and freshness of the meals they serve. Don't order the food that was in the open. When we went there, the person who made my wrap didn't even wear a glove and there was a green fly sitting on top of the baklava. Hidden gem - it's literally in the basement, but with penthouse flavors! This was the best food I had in Quebec - the combo platter had a little bit of everything, and it all tasted amazing (hummus, 2 salads, rice, potatoes, chicken and lamb, pita bread, all around 16-17$).
