Wow. Extraordinarily delicious, flavorful, perfectly cooked leg of lamb tagine with prunes and apricots was the star of the meal. The prunes lend a mild sweetness to the rich flavorful sauce spiced with cinnamon etc. A bowl of rice on the side and pita allow you to soak up the juices. The meat falls off the bone. The staff is kind and friendly. They offered us a glass of tea. The glasses and tray weee so gorgeous, we all admired them and I took some pics to capture the beauty. The price is so reasonable. Go there and you won't regret it. Unfortunately, we were too full to try the baklava. Thumbs up. read more

The best Moroccan food, I ever had so far. We had the couscous and kofta kabobs and enjoyed both.

Flavor, friendliness, flair. Those are the three words I would use to describe this restaurant! From the moment I walked in, I knew I was in for a good meal. You order at the counter, they bring your dish to the table, and you go back to the counter to pay when you are done. Menu is full of delicious options, but most of our party ate gyros and cous cous. The plates were so packed with flavor, especially the saffron on the cous cous which I loved. One person's dish took longer to come out than we expected (out of a certain protein), but our server was transparent. She also went above and beyond by giving us some mint tea for the wait. My only regret is not getting the baklava. I was too stuffed by the generous portions to order this. If you are in Quebec City and looking for a place to share a delicious meal with friends, this is the spot. read more

The lamb tagine with apricots and prunes and the couscous with Moroccan sausage and vegetables were delicious. The Moroccan mint tea was sweet but not overly sweet. Overall, while the inside was nothing spectacular, the food was worth it. read more

It's Christmas Eve. All the normal restaurants along the Rue St . Jean are filled. What surprised me was that if you went up the Rue St. Jean and crossed the Av Honoré-Mercier, you would have encountered this gem. Step inside and you are greeted like family. The lighting is low and welcoming. Music playing softly. The staff greets you like a familiar face. The food is approachable and the smells coming from the kitchen are amazing. What to order? The Mint Tea is a no brainer. The right combination of honey, tea, mint and spices. The shish tawook sandwich was a hit with the kids. The falafels were tender and tasty. The best dish was the braised leg of lamb. Overall, definitely catch this gem the next time you are visiting old Quebec read more

Portion of couscous was underwhelming and I don't like when they mix everything together for you. Lamb tasted old or if it had been in freezer too long. Service was very good and the ambiance was pleasant. read more

I love Yelp and tend to trust the reviews by fellow Yelpers here very much. Unfortunately this time, I'm going to have to strongly disagree with the 4.5 star rating that this place has, I feel like the reviews must come from locals and "friends of the restaurant," as that is who they seem to cater to and who we saw inside. The menu is all French, which is fine, this is Quebec after all. Don't expect any assistance from the bilingual cashier, we were not offered drinks or the vaunted mint tea that everyone talks about. I guess you have to ask? Now I wonder if I got screwed on my bill too.... I ended up ordering a lamb shank plate where you get 2 sides included. The hummus tasted off, almost like plastic. I couldn't quite put a finger on the flavor. There is a mayo based white sauce that was probably an attempt at the garlicky shawarma sauce we all love, but it failed miserably at that. The rice was so-so and took up most of the plate. That tells you something right there. I will say that the cold beans (not really chick peas) were pretty good and the cous cous was decent. The lamb? It tasted salty but it did fall off the bone and lamb is always pretty good. If it weren't for the complete lack of service and hostile feeling we got despite giving $40 of our hard earned money for 2 plates that were 70% rice and 2 bottles of water, I'd give 2 stars for the lamb and sides. Don't be fooled by the ratings here like we were! If you're a visitor, you will not be welcome and will not have a pleasant meal or experience. Nor will you have a good value for the money, which is what brought us here in the first place. Stick to the cliche bistros on the tourist strip for a decent (if predictable) meal, or (I hate to say it) go to McDonald's if you're tight on cash and want to eat as cheaply as possibly in Quebec. If you go before 8 PM, you can at least stop at the SAQ (liquor store) and make yourself forget that you came to this establishment. read more

Great food and great service. My friends walked 20min while it was pouring rain to eat here and it did not disappoint, the restaurant was filled with people. I ordered the hareera soup and the chicken shawarma sandwich, they were both delicious Thank you for your hospitality and great experience -Anfal read more

Delicious vegetables!!! I tried the chicken shawarma sandwich with a side of beets and carrots. The sandwich was just okay. The chicken was very tender and the pita was nice and thin, but it lacked the delicious bold flavors that shwarma usually has. I could barely taste the hummus. What I'm giving this place a four stars for is the beets and carrots! I never knew beets and carrots could taste so good! The carrots were so sweet with preserved lemon and what tasted like cumin. The beets were also sweet with onions. They really stood out!! read more

It opens late and the food comforts you after long day at work! It's so nice to have hot tasty filling food after walking in windy weather.

Server was excellent and very helpful with the menu since we did not speak any French.

The food was excellent, my favorite of the shawarma places I've tried in Quebec City. The service was great as well. The server forgot the sandwich for one of our group, was very apologetic when she found out. Her meal was comped and the server brought out a complementary tea and baklava. Excellent food, excellent service. read more

This is a great middle eastern rest stashed in between all the shopping stores on Rue Saint Jean. The place is pretty decent size and the guy who was working there was nice too. I ordered the chick schwarma plate which came with rice , chicken , potatoes, carrots and the rice were really nice and tasty. The chicken was meh. Wife ordered a pita sandwich with falafel and it was huge. For the $10.00 that sandwich, fries and soda could have been a steal. It was also very nice and the fries were excellent thick and big. Try this place out it has some Moroccan food too . read more

Please don't go here. Better off getting Taco Bell since you'll have better service and food there. First off, the food was absolutely terrible. Hummus tasted sour, meat was bland and chicken shawarma wrap had a fishy taste. Little brother ended up sick the next morning. The service is the worst I've ever seen to date. The owner messed up our entire order. We asked for shish tawook wraps but got chicken shawarma instead. The owner pointed at the menu item we wanted to make sure there was confusion yet somehow ended up giving us three completely different plates we never asked for. When we told the owner, he called us broke and yelled at us in front of all the customers. Owner accused that we wanted it for free but we just asked that he take back the barely eaten from plates and let us pay for what we ordered. After yelling at us and constantly calling us broke, he finally let us pay and told us next time he wouldn't let us get away with this. I can confidently say there will be no next time. We came 10 hours away and were hoping to have a great meal and this restaurant ruined our day. Please take this as a warning and don't support a business that treats their customers so badly. read more

I barely ever give less than 3 stars with Locally Family owned restaurants. So this 3 star review means Zero stars. I have been in many Morroccan restaurant in DC and Maryland, by farrrrrr this spot was the worst of all in my book, Vine leaves aka Dolme was straight from the can I can even name of the can brand, It was not tasted authentic and even meat was like frozen and heated up, The price was good for being a can food restaurant service was just so so, The french fries was fresh nothing else really, I feel like so many of these are fake reviews, This place cannot be authentic under any circumstances, I will not go back, prob with this awful experience I will stay away from Morroccan restaurant for awhile, it was very disappointing this called even authentic this way a bad version of Morroccan food. I hope they Start serving non-can foods anymore specially their Grape Leaves. read more

This is a nice little place for an authentic Moroccan meal. The owner is very convivial and the food is fresh. I realize however that it is not entirely my taste - I ordered CPU's-CPU's with lamb and the taste was a bit sweet for my liking, though improved when the waiter offered hot sauce! This is a great restaurant, better food than the fancy places on the tourist strip. The only dish I ordered was the lamb because it was so tender and delicious, I didn't want to try anything else. . I got takeout so I could eat in my hotel room and relax after a long day. The lamb and veggies are served over couscous and it is flavorful and fresh, a hearty meal.. The vegetables vary a bit- one time it tasted like carrots with some root vegetables. They may have been rutabagas or parsnips, not sure but they were very tasty. Another time it was mostly carrots and potatoes. Most days they're open until 11pm. read more

Excellent Moroccan fare! Friendly service and affordable prices which makes this place a gem in Quebec. Excellent and reasonably priced Moroccan cuisine close to the old city. We had the Merguez couscous and the beef kafta with a bunch of delicious salads: spiced carrots, hummus, tabouleh, and a spiced bean salad.
