We'v been to Baccus several times over the years and had fond memories. Now, however, it seems a bit...tired. The menu is small, the food pretty basic, and the dining area showing it's age. We had a straightforward meal with a carafe of vine roost della casa, and called it a night. The prices, however, were reasonable.
The owner is a friendly guy, and I'll give him (and the place) some slack because we went there on the night of the Liberation Day holiday, and they'd probably been pummeled during the 3 say weekend with nonstop tourists.
Even so, --as much as it pains me to say this in light of past memories--it's hard to really recommend the place now, especially since there are plenty of other choices in old town Pienza and the restaurant "scene" keeps evolving. read more
