For those not familiar with Frisco, it is home the the world's most valuable sports franchise (Dallas Cowboys at $5.7 Billion) and home to many sports teams and attractions, while this cemetery holds my great grandparents.

It tells a story of the towns mixed raced heritage and a family lineage of it. If you read the picture I posted it tells the story of white husband and black wife and basically it's their families burial plot. It's well kept. The McCormick family is buried here which so happens to be a prominent street name in Denton. Their graveyard was established in 1859 and there's people buried from Civil War time. There's also WWII and Texas Revolution veterans buried here as well. The pioneers of Denton and what made this town are the ones whose souls lie here. It's just cool to see old tombstones and to read about people. There were quite a few people who had died in a fire and I wonder if that was commonplace back then. This is also a chill spot that people go and smoke at night in. I've never done it but I imagine the spirit of Denton is cool with it.

We worked with Mark Tallant, who patiently walked us through the different options available to us. We had already contracted funeral plans and cremation services elsewhere, but Ridgeview was able to work with our needs in finding a plot to bury our loved one. Mark explained to us what a marker includes, the types of urn vaults, and what burial gardens are available. He shared the various customizations we were able to do at each step of the way. He even brought out a limo to shuttle the large group of us around as we first picked out the burial garden, then the specific plot we thought would work best. Mark worked with us to get our loved one's Chinese name engraved on the marker, and allowed us to choose the specific Chinese font that we liked the most. He was very responsive during the whole process and kept the pricing transparent. I believe Ridgeview Memorial Park offers payment plans, but we chose to bite the bullet and paid using a check for a small discount. I think paying by credit card is a bit more expensive because they tack on a convenience fee. No one really thinks about where they would want to be laid to rest, but I personally appreciated my experience at Ridgeview and encourage others to check them out.

The cemetery property was donated to the Mount Calvary Baptist Church by William Huffhines in 1868. While the congregation would eventually move and become the First Baptist Church of Richardson, the cemetery still remains today.

Plenty of parking in back and to the side. The staff seemed much nicer than many of the funeral homes I've been to. I think it may be due to my brother being very well liked along with his family. The décor is soothing, respectful and nice. This funeral home is well maintained. The staff allowed a final viewing before cremation and it was much appreciated as in these COVID times, the final good by was not possible.
