It is located just on the corner of the burn put church in the city centre and is easily accessible by bus. A family run establishment since the 1970s this is one of the best places to eat in the city. The staff are extremely friendly and nothing is too much trouble. The owner of the restaurant is very much front of house and makes you feel welcome immediately. The food is all fresh cooked to order and served authentic Greek cuisine. The lamb kleftico is to die for. And if you have a sweet too the then I'd recommend the homemade baklava with pistachio ice cream. All the food is prepared on site in the little open kitchen at the heart of the restaurant. You can see the chefs busy cooking away which is great to see. I really like this restaurant because of its authentic Greek cuisine and hospitality. The food is stunning, the service is superb and the location is perfect. I'd happily recommend this restaurant to anyone who is in the area and wants authentic Greek cuisine at a reasonable cost

I also got the feeling that, like a movie, when you walk in everyone stops what they're doing and looks at you, if only for a fraction of a second. After these unsettling observations, we were shown to our table. The service here is excellent, and the food is as traditional as you want (ie there are English options too). Also, there is no plate smashing or belly dancing, unlike Christakis, so you can enjoy a nice quiet meal. Being a fan of all things foreign, I enjoyed the food greatly, although I know traditional Greek isn't to everyone's taste. If I had my way, I'd eat tzatziki and bread and drink wine all night if I could! The food is reasonably priced and the atmosphere nice, so if you want a mild Greek experience, go to Zorbas!

With a bring your own booze policy this is a popular place for groups and will be a busy venue around Christmas time. The food, as you expect from Greek restaurants is good, hearty and a little too rich anytime of the year but it has a very warm feel to the place which is helped I think by it's out of the way location behind the university which makes you and your fellow diners feel like you know something the rest of the city doesn't.

No wonder she was keeping it secret, easy to do in this not so salubrious location, as this family run Greek restaurant is hard to beat on quality and value. Decor, music, menu and owner( George) are most definitely Greek but ably helped by his scouse son and daughter to bring that bit of the med to a Liverpool back street. The menu has a great range of fine char grill cooked meat, and other greek favourites including excellent home crafted soups, dips, salads, stuffed vine leaves etc and the mezes is hard to finish ( both the meat and veggie version). My favourite is the succulent and tender chicken kebabs but my vegetarian sister says the plaki ( butter beans in tomato) beans are hard to beat. The place is favourite of many university staff and students located just across the road from the main campus and lunch and evenings find the initiated enjoying quality fresh cooked mediterranean fare in the friendly company of George, I recommend you try it.

I was surprised when Osqa opened because I doubted it would get much business due to its location. You see, if you weren't looking for it you wouldn't find it. The website describes it as being at the top of Renshaw Street not far from the bombed church, yet it is actually hidden away down what looks like a side street that no one ever seems to go along. However, having said that, location aside it is a really good place to be. They have their own sun terrace which, unlike most sun terraces in the city, actually gets the sun for more than 30 minutes. As I say, I've not eaten here, but I've been on a sunny day and sipped cold beer whilst listening to the hustle and bustle of the city without actually being able to see it. My experience was only slightly marred by the parents a few tables away who seemed unable to control their children, but hey ho, what can you do? Anyway, a nice place to sit in the afternoon and watch life pass you by. It is a restaurant, sports bar and piano bar combined, so caters for everyone, and I'd like to see this place do well, as it seems to be a nice little haven away from the humdrum.

Name problems aside, I have been to Osqa on a few occasions in both the sports bar and the restaurant and have found it an excellent place to watch the footy in a comfortable atmosphere with reasonable drinks prices. I haven't eaten here as the times I have been in the restaurant have been when I have attended the weekly open mic nights they hold on Wednesdays. Offering cheap drinks deals (always a winner) and giving local talent an opportunity to get up and sing (a recent highlight was a 3-piece covering Destiny's Child's 'Say My Name', pop punk-style) makes Osqa a lovely place to spend the night.

The interiors are cool and clean with a more minimalist feel than the usual trellises and vines and pottery that you're accustomed to. The atmosphere here would suit a place in the city centre rather than suburbia - the staff are friendly and efficient, the music evocative but not overpowering and the general feeling is that you can have an authentic Greek experience without someone smashing your plates. The food is amazing - I'm a big fan of Mediterranean flavours and after spending some time living in Cyprus I'm an even bigger fan of Greek and Turkish tastes. For meat lovers, the Keftedes meatballs is a good place to start. Lefteris' house special Ouzo Chicken is also something not to be missed, although I'm a fan of the traditional Mousaka , Kleftiko and Stifado. If you're a veggie, you can't go wrong with the Houmous, Tzatziki and Tahini dips to start, and then there's veggie Mousaka or my favourite, Dolmades (stuffed vine leaves) which are delish. Prices are reasonable - you're looking at around £14 for a main - and if you're a fan of all things Greek, this is somewhere you must try.

The music and the decor of the restaurant will make you feel like you're back on your holidays. The food is great with a wide range of meals no matter what sort of thing you're into - there is plenty to choose from, meat, fish or veggie. The restaurant has had a makeover not too long ago, which has proved to be a part of Lefteris' success along Allerton Road, as it now has the look that you seem to need to make it down this popular stretch. My main downfall is the fact that they only accept cash - not ideal when you are large party dining out.

I was very hungry from traveling all day seeing the Beatles sites so I ate it anyway, but it was very mediocre. It tasted like Chuck E. Cheese pizza quite frankly, my brother got the americana pizza. It had pepperoni on it. He said it tasted junk but that wasn't the end of the line my other brother got the vegetarian pizza he described it as frozen. He didn't like the pizza because it tasted too dehydrated. It did not have wet sauce. The pizza stayed completely intact. If you held it completely upside down, the toppings were like glued on, and they didn't really have a particular taste. Everything just kind of tasted extra chewy, but without any sort of spice, we tried the different sauces in order to make it taste a bit better and I have to say that adding the tomato sauce on top did help to Live in it a bit, but it really still fell short of something worth paying for it to sit down restaurant. My mother got lamb kebab. She described it as good and it was all right so nothing really crazy if you wanna get a bite I think you should go somewhere else personally but I hope you enjoyed my review. Cheers!
