A little hole in the wall, but I'm sure all bar spots in Venice are holes in the wall... Came here bc honestly, we needed to use the bathroom. Still trying to understand why there are limited (free) public bathrooms. We got two glasses of wine for 9 eur. Our bartender was very nice and pleasant. He also gave us a basket of potato chips with our wine. Also free wifi!

Randomly ran into this location while walking the streets of Venice late one night. We ended up having a great time talking to the man and woman working there. Their draft beer selection was very good. Highly recommend stopping in for visit if you are in Venice.

One of the tastiest restaurants I've been to in the world! Such a lovely treat and hidden gem!!…read more It was great to try Italian food especially Venetian style outside of pizza and pasta. Seafood is their speciality and everything we tried was absolutely amazing. We started with Benvenuti Malvazija white wine which went perfectly with all the seafood plates. Highlights included the spider crab salad, the Venetian style scampi (still dreaming about this), the rich flavor of their mussels, and the fish mousse was so original and fresh! Alex, one of the owners, walked us through each plate and it really was a fun journey through Venice via food. We loved the live piano while dinner and it was great to be around locals who were enjoying themselves. This will be the first place we come back to when we're back in Venice!!

This historic establishment, open since 1912. Impressive decor and immaculately clean facility. We arrived at the restaurant and the was warmly greeted by our host who was very friendly and pleasant. He showed us to a table which was small & setting the tone for a truly enjoyable evening. We began our culinary adventure with two classic Bellinis and a simple yet satisfying offering of breadsticks with butter. For appetizers, we ordered a diverse selection from the menu, a mixed fried fish with fried vegetables platter, & heart of artichoke with mozzarella and truffles, and a refreshing spider crab salad. Our wine journey commenced with a bottle of Amarone Valpantena, a perfect companion to our starters. The highlight of our meal was undoubtedly the two plates of their seafood risotto. It was amazing and instantly became our instant favorite, a dish we'll long remember. At the host's excellent recommendation, we also savored a half bottle of Amarone Classico, which perfectly complemented the rich flavors of the risotto. We wrapped our evening with Our host recommended shots of limoncello and a few delightful house-made meringues. We thoroughly enjoyed every moment of our visit and left feeling super satisfied. Ristorante A La Vecia Cavana has undoubtedly become my forever favorite from my entire Italy trip. I wholeheartedly recommend this restaurant to anyone visiting Venice.

Prosecco Toffoli - Heading in for Prosecco tasting

No dosage and dry as a bone with slight breadiness akin to a fine champagne but ringing up at less than 8€ a bottle. I wish we could have brought home a case or two. I would suggest you make this your first stop in Prosecco country but it might ruin all the tastings that follow.

First things first, arrange a reservation for a tour and tasting in advance. You'll pay for it when you arrive. At the lost cost of 25 euros you'll receive a very thorough tour of the production facility and labeling room, a tasting of eight different wines, a variety of meats and cheeses to accompany the wines, AND you'll get to take a home a bottle of wine of your choice. You simply can't beat that. Everyone at Toffoli was so hospitable and despite the fact that were were running late for our 10 am scheduled tour they happily accomodated us when we arrived. We were extremely fortunate to have Sante, the oldest brother of the family and part-owner, be our private guide for the tour. He is seriously one of the nicest people. Sante is extremely knowledgeable on the prosecco area and the wine making process and is happy to share this knowledge with others. Not only did we learn all about each step of the production process but he also threw in fun anecdotes about growing up in the region and about his family that really enriched the experience for us. Before we knew it, THREE HOURS had gone by as we spent the whole morning with Sante drinking delicious wines and learning so much about the region and the family behind the wine. If you only have time to visit one winery in the Prosecco region this is the one you can't miss!

We opted for the 8 wine tasting experience, which featured a variety of whites, reds, and sheets. Everything we tried was fantastic and some of the best wines I've had! Everyone in my group like them all! They're award winning Sauvignon was definitely a crowd pleaser and tasted just right. Service was welcoming, friendly, and attentive. Another reason is that they make both red and white wines, whereas some other wineries in the region focuses on mainly white or focuses on Prosecco. The winery isn't large compared to the wineries I'm used to in California, but it was beautiful to see the vines nonetheless. The inside of the winery and tasting room was reminiscent of a warehouse or hangar, so that was quite different and unexpected. It didn't exude winery feels but the outside is nice. It turned out that you need a reservation to wine taste here, though that was not mentioned on their website. When I expressed that we're visiting, the lady that helped us made an exception to let us taste about 4 wines, which was quite was nice of her. The wines were nice, so we left with a few bottles as the prices are quite low compared to wineries back in California. This was a nice start to wine tasting in this region.
