The drinks are severely overpriced for what you get. The bar tenders are decent but the bouncers…read moreare terrible. Every time I have been with friends someone gets kicked out for a dumb reason and yesterday I was kicked out 30 minutes from close because I sat down on a bench outside and used my inhaler for my ASTHMA literally a life saving device, after being in the pit for over 30 minutes. He even knocked it out of my hand and I had to use my phone as a flashlight to find the pod while he stood over me and wouldn't let me go back inside to even find my dd or let my friend go into to find him. The staff is ableist and not understanding in the slightest and won't listen to reason even when you're even a little intoxicated. One of my other friends got kicked out one time for tripping. So I would only go here if you have no intention of having any type of human needs. I would also like to point out there was someone on the patio literally passed out on the patio that they deemed allowed to stay. I'm extremely disappointed in the staff for turning one of my favorite places in Houston into the worst experience I've ever had with a staff member at a bar or a club.

I had heard about this place for a couple of years but ended up going there with some friends on a…read moreFriday night and it was quite an interesting experience. For starters, this is located in the "other" midtown away from the trendy restaurants and bars and literally on the other side of the tracks south of Main. What I'm getting at is it's sketchy as hell. If you park on the street there, there is a pretty good chance it'll get broken into since the street lights have mysteriously been knocked out and you have a large homeless and/or druggie population wandering around. We had a large enough crowd that we decided to walk down there the couple of blocks. Getting in is also interesting since they give you the TSA treatment and get the metal detector out and ask you to empty your pockets while mean mugging you if you don't know which way the entrance is. Inside has the classic beatdown downtown warehouse decor but on the plus side, the AC works, the bathrooms are surprisingly clean (which is why I'm giving them 2 stars instead of 1), and in its own way is kind of welcoming if you're not into any of the trendy places. It kind of reminds me of how Houston's alternative scene was in the 90's...not sure what the kids call this nowadays. Then there is the music. It wasn't good. The sound system is muffled and the music selection was pop rock style from like 2007-2012 mostly so even though I am older, I can still say it was lame without sounding like that old guy who hates new stuff. I actually WANTED to hear new stuff and not what I would listen to on Pandora 15 years ago, but apparently the younger and alternative crowd seemed to like it. It's kind of like Numbers Night Club for people who don't like wearing black and think of the 2000's as their 80's? I gotta say though, despite having the scary walk and dealing with frowning security and bartenders who act like they're doing you a favor for letting you in, it's a great place for people watching.

As soon as you walk up the steps, it is going to smell good as hell! Nachos, jerk fries, things like that, made to order. There is a stage, there is a large bar (it has two sides to it), and some upstairs standing room to get off of the main floor. The music was good, everybody was pretty cool, even security was talking and chatting it up. It was a nice little vibe, except waiting in line to get in for as long as it took a comma I would recommend. The night that we went it was free before 11:00 or so, you got there a little before and as soon as we got to the front of line the guy cut off the free entry so that kind of sucked but that's not the end of the world. I was still suggest and recommend.

Drink prices include tax and tip already, so it's easy peasy. Bartenders and bottle girls are nice. The venue is spacious, but you can't go up any of the stairs. They have bouncers and security at every corner literally. They have a man tending to the men's restroom, but the women's restroom is always empty. I love the mirror walls! Nicky Romero will be playing soon, so that will be something to look forward to!

5 stars is based on my Friday nights at Numbers. Sure, the drinks are Ok, the bathrooms are nasty,…read moreand the staff is not bending over backwards to be super friendly but hell, it's all about the music. I grew up in the late 80's as a young adult clubbing in New Orleans. Club Berlin, The Riviera, Scandals and of course Kenny Vincent's Southside. Oh, and a few trips to The Kingfish in Lake Martin (Lafayette) La. When I started visiting a friend of mine in Houston on a regular basis I started looking for a club we could visit and much to my delight I found Numbers. What a flash from the past! I'm 58 yrs old but every time I step on the dance floor listening to those old school club tunes I feel like I'm 20 again! Keep it up Numbers! I'm looking forward to my next visit :)

First time at Numbers & unfortunately a very disappointing experience…read more My friends and I paid to get in and were allowed inside. A few minutes later, we were kicked out and told we were "rude" and had been cutting the line, which was NOT true. We were also told that we had supposedly been told before entering that we couldn't go inside, which was confusing because we were allowed in, paid admission, and were even about to get drinks. I understand that a club has the right to refuse service, but I don't understand why we were allowed to enter and charged if we supposedly weren't permitted to be inside. We also weren't offered a refund after being kicked out and received no service. The white lady with purple hair who kicked us out was extremely rude and disrespectful. The way she spoke to us was completely unnecessary, and she made an already frustrating situation much worse instead of simply explaining what the issue was. She also recorded members of our group dancing without our notice, which I found uncomfortable. & I will admit that I became extremely frustrated and cussed at staff. I could have handled my frustration better. However, I still feel that the situation could have been handled much more professionally and respectfully, i genuinely felt like I was being treated unfairly. This was my first time at Numbers, and unfortunately it's not an experience that would make me want to come back at all.
