Let me follow up on Michael C's review. I just went to the sales office and viewed the models. I am…read morein "$hell $hock)" Tiny up and down units (under 1,200 sf) no garage, prices 469k and up BEFORE upgrades. Taxes and HOA $15k per year. Lower unit gets a full basement (42k if you want it finished) upper units are a little nicer, vaulted ceilings, private elevator (standard) and a loft area. Small decks with no view unless you have the pool view (for an extra 10k.) I have been looking to downsize for a while now but this place is beyond ridiculous.

I am writing this based on very limited information from a quick drive-by of the construction site…read moreand information provided on the company's website. Having said that, who are these people kidding? Prices starting at $454,000? Anyone who's ever looked at similar construction knows what that means. Add another $50-$100k for "upgrades" for what you want. Taxes estimated at $10 - $11,000 for a community restricted to 62 and older! Seniors who have no kids in schools? Are they serious? As for the units, the stated room dimensions don't look particularly impressive -- and the (current) physical layout of the place appears to involve a lot of exterior stairs. There is no mention of condo fees. In fact, very little information is given. But the bottom line in that this "senior community" seems to have been designed for high-rollers who are willing to pay through the nose to stay near their grandchildren and on the familiar turf of counties that are going bankrupt. Unless some critical factors change at "The Seasons at Seaford" I would just keep driving and pick up some burgers at All American, instead.

My Father in law has an apartment in Independent Living while both of my parents now live in the Memory Care unit. So we've experienced two different levels of need based care. I've found that the Spring Meadows staffers are very good. The nurses, the aids and even dining room staff really seem to care about the residents and try to make the difference to keep them engaged and make sure they're well cared for. I'll also add that the office staff and the general manager coordinate very well with us, the family members, to help with the details involved of having an aging parent who needs the assistance of this kind of facility. They are always helpful and respond promptly if I call with questions or requests. It's been a blessing to have my parents be able to live at Spring Meadows and get the good care that they need.

My parents enjoy the food as well as the activities which keep them busy. The nurses are collaborative and very helpful. George Dewey, marketing director, helped make the transition smooth for them and has really been instrumental in making it all happen. My sister and I feel very blessed to have found the perfect place for our parents to spend the last years of their lives!

To all who are seeking a place for a loved one, please be cautious of this place. My grandmother…read morehad moved into this place several years ago after her husband passed away while still being semi independent. In the beginning, it was a second home to her, filled with countless activities, caring staff and management, and so on. Unfortunately, as time went on, and my grandmother was having much more trouble walking before transitioning to a wheel chair and constantly having to use the bathroom due to medical issues, the place changed. The facility kept tacking on extra care charges despite the fact my grandma had a private aid 12 hours a day. When trying to call the finance department to state that my family was paying privately for an aid for half the day, all we were left with was an argument, a cold nature from the woman who works in the finance department or at one point, no call backs because they could not be bothered doing their research. My grandmother had fallen, while an aid, who worked for the fountains (not private,) was in her apartment with her, resulting in three fractured ribs, stitches in her head, hip injury, a black eye, a bloody nose and being rushed to the ER. The aid in the room was the same aid my grandmother had asked management not to assist her due to the aids cold, rude and uncaring nature that had resulted in discrepancies in the past. To this day, my grandmother, facility staff and the aid all have different stories. How does a resident fall in their small apartment while an aid is present you may ask? We still ask to this day. On top of this, the facility nearly blamed my grandmother for the aid not doing her job properly. Not too long after this incident, my grandmother had to go to a rehab facility. The Fountains waited until the last possible second (3 days before she was to be released from rehab) to evaluate my grandmother to only say they would not take her back at the fountains. My grandmother was devastated. If you ask me, they did not take her back to cover their own behinds because of the incident that occurred with the aid in her room. The Fountains uprooted my grandmothers entire life due to not taking her back, and essentially left her without a place to live. On top of that, she was expected to pay for each day her belongings were still in her apartment. Imagine being held liable to pay an excessive amount of money when a facility essentially kicked you out of your home? Absolutely sickening. Please be Leary of this place before placing a loved one her. Please also do not trust the aid SUSANNA with your loved one, as she is the aid responsible for my grandmas injuries due to carelessness. The staff and management are not what it used to be. They have no problem taking your money, but have problems with taking responsibility for the staff's poor behaviors and correcting it

He hesitated a bit but after settling into his apartment and new routine, he seems at ease. He enjoys it all, but most of all the restaurant-style food service. He loves the varied (and customizable) menu choices, the plentiful food, and the elegant service. The staff at all levels could not be more caring and enthusiastic about him and all the residents. It's a great environment, topped off with a fabulous location in the heart of the village of Tuckahoe, New York, experiencing its own revival in recent years. The Fountains at RiverVue have turned out to be a great choice for our family. And it's true! A river runs through it! Or is that a "rivie're?"
