Solid Rock opened us with welcome arms and made sure we knew that we belonged here too. Not only is the community outstanding, but the programming is amazing. These people really do it all and I can't imagine the past year without them.

He has kickstarted a real desire to get in shape…read moreto be strong and healthy for my family and he's getting me the tools I need to accomplish my goals. He comes to his clients and this is a huge benefit to me. He brings everything we need for our session and he keeps track of where I am with everything. He corrects my form, suggests modifications and helps push me farther that I would normally push myself. I do feel like I'm improving and getting stronger, but the main thing is it has spurred me to doing other things that I had not done in forever, like logging my calories and trying out a new kind of cardio (see my Urban Row review). I think my husband is so polite and afraid to hurt my feelings, he never comments on my food choices or my lack of physical activity, and that's probably for the best. But it's nice to have someone charged with keeping me pointed in the right direction. But most importantly, he puts up with me. He has a really great attitude; mine, not so much. I think the top three things he hears me say are: are you counting?!, is this right?, and I hate this! But he takes all of that grumpy, self-doubting, self-deprecating complaining and somehow manages to be cheerful and fun and funny. I don't like working out, but I like hanging out with Rick, so I'm going to stick with it.

Rick is a pretty swell fellow. I've been going to him for a little over a year now. My strength and…read moreform have definitely improved thanks to him. Any being chubbers still is pretty much on me and my off and on crap eating habits. I DIGRESS. Rick is fantastic at what he does and is great at adding a personal spin on each individual's routine. Like me, for instance. I'm packin' a heavy punch in the upstairs department (no, not my brain. My boobs!) and a couple of exercises aren't that comfortable to do, 'cause there's a lot of squishing or smacking/punching for certain movements. Just be vocal about your boobage situation and he'll make changes for you. Be nice to yo girls. His schedule is pretty flexible as far as I'm concerned. He offers the training at his own home in Norman or you can choose a place of your own preference. Such as, I live in OKC and I don't always want to drive to Norman. It's about $10 extra for him to come to me, but it's worth it most of the time. I like to lounge on the couch until Rick arrives and then complain for 5 minutes about having to work out. It's a good routine. He's a cool dude and a great trainer.

I wanna thank this gym I wouldn't have met this 48 man staring at my 15 year old self and got married if it weren't for this gym. #LiveLaughLove

It does not get much better than that for a 75 minute circuit workout. As I have mentioned in previous reviews, I had surgery in dec so, I'm very cautious about my ankle. Vicky is very accommodating to both my Fitness level and my injury. It's challenging, changing and high energy. For those folks that don't like to run; this is the place to go for cardio. You may run a little on occasion but I have never been here and been bored. She does weights, kettle bells, dumb bells, bands, TRX, and my favorite punching the bag. Come ready to work!!! what you will find is a supportive and high energy environment. Vicky brings her dog with her and if you like dogs; you are set. Check out her Facebook "fit w/ Vic" for events

It's the right pace for us preggos, and the right atmosphere, to get us ready to be mommies. Yoga Nest is one of the outposts of Karen Prior's successful "Momastae" prenatal yoga methodology, and Kat is an easygoing, relaxed instructor. Even though I did not practice with any regularity before, there hasn't been any move or pose I wasn't able to do by observing Kat. Because the class is small - it maxes out at eight people - you are close enough to the teacher to see exactly what she is doing. She also talks just the exact right amount - not too much, but enough that you feel you know what's going on. The space itself is nothing to write home about. It's not beautiful or perfect, but then, neither am I. I'll be sad when I can't still take class from Kat, as at least for now she only teaches pre-natal. I think my favorite thing though is something Kat says during relaxation. She has us visualize welcoming our babies into the world, and then she tells us to imagine telling the baby that while we look forward to their arrival, we look forward to welcoming him or her "whenever and however" he or she arrives. I love that, because I think there is such a tendency to get caught up in a "birth plan" when there is really so little you can control when it comes right down to it, especially if things get scary at all. So I love that every week leading up to the birth of my baby, I'm getting this little reminder that I can only do as much as I can do, but part of it is up to the baby or the universe or whomever to do the rest. I'm thankful to Kat and Karen for this important, fun, relaxing part of my pregnancy. It is something I will always remember.

She is incredibly gracious, kind, and genuinely invested in every single person who walks through her doors. Her classes are the perfect balance: challenging enough to push you, but never so intense that you feel discouraged or out of place. Amy has a gift for making people of all shapes, sizes, and athletic levels feel comfortable, capable, and included. I've tried so many workouts over the years, but Pilates at this studio is truly special. It's become the best part of my day. Even better -- this is the only form of exercise I've found in a long time that pushes me without flaring up my autoimmune condition. The low impact nature means I can actually go every day and feel stronger, not worse. That alone is life-changing. If you're looking for a supportive community, amazing instruction, and a place that meets you exactly where you are while still helping you grow -- this is it. I'm so grateful I found MVMNT Lab & Wellness.
