Tried all the sides since I am a vegetarian. Went there especially for the Okra and hush puppies. Love the Okra. It's very Ja-crispy. Hush puppies come with a side of honey butter that taste good. Wish it had more cinnamon since I couldn't taste it much. Corn bread was sweet and buttery. Beans are sweet and ok. Wanted a corn on cob but menus were different. 1 read Blues on the cob another read Grilled Corn. Collards green were good. And Mashed potatoes turned out to be the real "Bomb" Place is worth the try!

We ate on the patio. Weather was perfect and love the bq vibe. We tried some of the lunch specials, kids menu and the hush puppies were a hit. The pork bq ribs were tender, smoky, and succulent. Fernand was friendly and patient with the kids. They loved the Kool-aid choice!

Awesome BBQ spot. We had our office happy hour in the patio and everyone loves the food. Wings, ribs, coleslaw, and the hush puppies were a big hit. Service was excellent. Thanks to owner Liz for making it a great event

Had Baby Blues back in December for a Christmas catering event and loved every meat that they had to offer. Saw baby blues was located along my route to work and gave it another try, the BBQ chicken was my favorite, paired up with the Mac and cheese.

Came for take out. In regards to the take out experience 3/5 We ordered and sat by a nearby table to wait for our order to be called. Our order took approximately 30 minutes for it to be ready. When it was ready, we were not told or called by name when the order was ready for us We had to ask another waiter for any progress upsets on our order. That is when the waiter brought a bag to us saying it was ready. This was a bit frustrating because we don't know when the order was ready. Although a waiter asked us if we had placed a take out order and after saying that we did, it would have been helpful to have a waiter check on our order & let us know that it is being done or will almost be done. I think having us have to check to see if our order was finished, was poor customer satisfaction. Perhaps today was an overly busy day or perhaps someone had called out. I always like to keep an open mind for these things, as this can happen & I like to not place blame for these slight inconveniences Food: BBQ Brisket: very tasty, unknown plastic on the meat On the other hand, after coming home to eat, we found odd plastic on our meat that we almost ate, not knowing it was plastic I am not sure if the cooks forgot to take the plastic off the meats or maybe this is common on BBQ brisket to have some plastic on it while being cooked Macaroni: was not a huge fan of the macaroni. The cheese had a slight odd taste (personally) The rice: tasted like rice-a roni, very tasty & flavorful The corn bread has corn and maybe nuts inside. Not very sweet (personally) Overall the inside was clean and the ambiance was moderate noice level. The cashier was kind and the table we sat at to wait for the food was clean. They have TVs inside. I will give this spot another try as I like to try places more than once to see if this was an "off day" or not. Next time we will try sitting in.

If you're cruising down Lincoln in Venice and your stomach starts growling for something primal--something meaty, smoky, and soul-satisfying--pull over and walk into Baby Blues BBQ. You won't regret it. The vibe is vintage Southern grit with a Cali edge--laid-back, a little loud, and full of flavor (and smoke). This is not a place for your vegan cousin unless they're just here for the mac and cheese, which--let's be real--is a damn good reason to visit in itself. What to order: The ribs? FALL. OFF. THE. BONE. The pulled pork? Juicy and flavorful. The brisket? Come on. Get it. And don't skip the cornbread--it's got that honey-kissed top that makes you close your eyes a little when you bite in. The sides deserve a shout-out. The collard greens are legit, the baked beans have that backyard BBQ taste, and the mashed sweet potatoes are practically a dessert. Portions are generous, so come hungry or bring a friend to split and still leave stuffed. Parking: It's Venice, so it's a gamble. Street parking only. Ride your bike or Uber if you can. Staff: Chill, friendly, fast with the sweet tea refills. Price: Not cheap, not crazy. Worth it. Final verdict: Baby Blues is where you go when you want barbecue that hits your soul--not just your stomach. No pretense. No frills. Just real-deal smoked goodness with a SoCal twist. Yummy

The B E S T ! We got the family platter to share. Our server was so nice and attentive. I have never tried the sweet mash and we did tonight and it was delicious. I also love their potato salad. We got a slice of Keylime pie to go Can't wait to come back. ( ps- we live in Pasadena and it was worth the drive)

Dined in on 2/25/25 around 6:30 PM: We didn't try any of the BBQ and only came in for the banana pudding! It was really delicious and in my top five banana puddings in LA (have been to 10 spots as of 2/25/25). I like that the nilla wafers stay crunchy since they are incorporated as a topping rather than sitting in the cream and banana. It was also not overly sweet and had a nice amount of banana bits for the portion size. Service was super fast and friendly! Ambience is casual, unmetered street parking is easy around the corner. Bathroom was clean.

Ambiance: it's a popular bbq place located on Lincoln blvd, street parking only, the restaurant is divided into few sections, one takeout counter, two dining rooms, and one corner spot for large table Service: both servers helped our table were very friendly, and accommodated specific request, although a bit slow and forgetful, had to remind a couple of times to get water Food & Drink: plenty choices of meat for sandwiches and platters, combination choices have the best value, the meat generally tasted good by itself and with four sauces on each table, regular BBQ, Sweet, Hot, and XXX the very spicy sauce Baby Back Ribs - *** a bit disappointing, tasted very dry Memphis Style Ribs - **** tasty smoky meat, recommend Sliced Brisket - ***** so juicy and tender, a must-try here Tri-Tip - ** overcooked and tasted rubbery Cornbread - **** recommend Mac & Cheese - *** too mushy Chicken Smoked Rice - *** salty and spicy Fried Okra - **** crispy and tasty with dipping sauce, recommend Coastal Drift Hazy IPA 7.0% Eureka/ CA - **** easy to drink, recommend Price: generous protons and reasonable prices, expect about $35 per person for a very hearty meal with some take home leftover

Came here for a quick bite on a Friday afternoon. They had just opened not long ago and the place was still empty so we could sit wherever we liked. The staff was super attentive, immediately greeting us, and offering up recommendations Their happy hour menu is crazy, $1 wings is unheard of! We ended up ordering a number of things for the table, I myself got five wings, dry, and an order of fries and it was the perfect amount of food to hold me over until dinner. The wings came out, burning, hot, and Fresh made. I loved the char they achieved on the wings and felt it was perfect without any extra sauces, just some ranch for dipping. I did also try the barbecue sauces. They had on the table and thought they were yummy, tangy and unique. The fries were also pretty good, just the right consistency and amount of salt. My friends really liked their sandwiches and we all left full and happy for a great price. Definitely will come back.

Featured on Triple D once before and hearing things about Baby Blues BBQ I had to try this place myself. My brother and I were in town for family stuff and we took the opportunity. When you walk in the door you notice lots of open seating, with seating outside as well. Cool old time pictures all over the walls, with diagrams of all the cuts of meats and with the smell of BBQ in the air. With all the cuts of meats and all the different sides (fixins) it's definitely a place to try if you're in the mood for some BBQ...

Was craving some bbq brisket while checking out an art show in the area and decided to give this place a try. Really liked everything I had, the brisket was great, the sides were good and so was the corn bread which was very unique compared to others I've had before. Would definitely recommend and come back again! I appreciated the service and the ambiance, it turned out to be a great dinner date that night.

Heard of this place when I worked in playa vista. Took a drive to the beach and ended up here. Had the hush puppies for starters. The honey butter is good. Personally I prefer my cornbread not to be deep fried but with melted honey butter it's good. Also got me the sweet mashed potatoes and collard greens with a half rack baby backs. Good bbq flavor. Decent amount of meat on the bone. Greens and potatoes were good. Didn't like the cornbread. Looked and tasted like a coffee cake. The smoked chicken was good. Liked the coke slaw and the Mac and cheese though when it got cold got a glob of cheese I wasn't happy with but I cut out cheese so don't let that keep you from trying it yourself. Service was decent. Ambiance was cool. Good music in background. Minus one star cause of the cornbread. I loves me a good cornbread.

Do they still sell the big Beef Rib I haven't seen it since they reopened?

Yes, I had the beef rib when I went less than a year ago. They don't have it in the menu because it tends to sell out so you have to ask if they have it that day.

We just came here and saw the restaurant closed with the sign "we will be back soon." But then there is a review posted just 26 hours ago so you guys were open just yesterday. Are you guys closed for good?

They don't put sauce on the ribs etc. when they are cooking them, but they give you sauce on the side. But it is not the same. They could just make ribs in mild, medium or hot. The mac and cheese was awful, and we even had to recook the beef link. The second order consisted of a chicken link, potato salad, and baked beans. While the potato salad was good, the baked beans were undercooked and hard, though the barbecue sauce served with them was tasty Even dessert was a failure; the tiramisu was strangely spongy and lacked flavor. While waiting for our order, I observed a man enter from outside. Without washing his hands, he was instructed to go behind the counter and bag our food. Although the food was already in containers, he did touch our utensils, which was concerning. Fortunately, we didn't end up needing them, so I didn't make a fuss at the time.

Our server was very attentive, checked in on us and brought our food out in good timing. the food itself was incredible! i forget the actual name, but i got this hash scramble plate that had potatoes, bell peppers, onion, smoked brisket and a fried egg over the top. it was incredibly delicious. my friend got the 2+2. the ribs are freaking insane, my friend gave me a taste and i almost regretted not getting that instead. it melted right off the bone, had good flavor even without the bbq sauce (which was also tasty - the spicy bbq was my favorite and also poured it over my skillet). i paired my plate with an iced coffee which was just as rich. the reason why i left with the smile was because we were treated to a smoked cookie! i wish i caught her name but our server was such a sweetheart for this. it was soft and warm, melted right in my mouth. everything was incredibly filling! what a great experience, i look forward to coming back!

My wife and I went with friends and had NO idea what we were walking into. We got there early and ended up waiting almost two hours before they even opened. I was hungry hungry and getting close to hangry... but the wild part? Everyone in line was in a good mood. People were excited. You could tell we were all about to experience something special. When the doors finally opened and we walked in, it felt like a show. You've got Adam at this huge cutting board, chopping smoked meat right in front of everyone. The smell, the energy, the sound of the knife hitting the board -- it's dinner and entertainment. We had the pork belly and ribs. Each plate came with a solid handful of pickles and peppers that cut through the richness perfectly. The pork belly had insane texture -- tender, flavorful, with that little bit of crunch that takes it over the top. Then he drips that mop sauce over it... I was in heaven. The two pieces of Texas toast underneath just soak everything up like a blanket for the meat. No joke, my whole group went quiet while eating. That's how good it was. That meal actually inspired me to buy a smoker and start trying to smoke meat myself. I try... but Adam is out here making magic. Second time was in Venice at Gin Rummy Bar. This time we had ribs again and the Dino beef ribs. Those Dino ribs? Ridiculous. So tender, so rich -- straight meat heaven. The kind of food that makes you close your eyes for a second. Now I literally look for excuses to be near Venice just to see if I can catch the pop-up, even though he sells out all the time. Big thank you to Adam and the crew. This isn't just great BBQ -- it's an experience.

It worked well with the char on the outside but the meat still retained its tenderness. It was very flavorful. Some of the wings were good -- crispy on the outside, but other wings were too dry. Same with the ribs. I was initially excited for this, but as I continued eating, found that some of the ribs had really dried out. I thought that the collards worked well with the super charred bacon bits, and the mac and cheese was very creamy. However, the corn bread was a bit dry, which is a shame, because I thought that the cheese might have saved it with a bit more moisture. Overall, I might come back to try different options -- and probably stay with things with the tri-tip, but avoid the other BBQ meats.
