Update: The owner reached out to me. She graciously took my feedback and made a comment that she would be reminding their team about being our guiding light and not something we needed to recover from. This would have drastically changed our experience, so I'm increasing my rating in good faith that the experience of future clients will be better. This is probably a GREAT place to take your newborn up to around 6 months. I'm not sure I would recommend them over that age - or maybe we just didn't get the right provider for us. I am a super aware mom. This is my third child. She's had CST and chiropractic care since she was two weeks old. Her pediatrician was aware of her delayed crawling and babbling, but kept delaying therapy because she is a third child and also a very easy going baby who is usually very content to remain in place and watch everyone. There were concerns that her tie releases were not successful, so I took her back to the dentist to get them checked a second time. I say all of this because I want to be clear that I have been taking her to various professionals to support her pretty much weekly for an entire year now. I have done everything that was suggested to me to support my child, to the point of missing 4+ hours of work every week and paying several hundred dollars every month for all the different services and providers. I have done everything I know to do to support my child and am already feeling defeated by her progress - I bring this up because it is really the reason for my negative review. My daughter had a REALLY rough start. She had RSV as an infant and was hospitalized for a week (including a lumbar puncture), was born with an asymmetrical head shape and torticollis (hence the weekly CST and chiro care), tongue, lip, and buccal ties (all revised, and re-checked), had some concerning signs of potential seizures early on so endured a 3 day EEG around six months (all clear), and some ear concerns most recently (flushed both ears and given an all clear by an ENT). I'm not usually an anxious mom, but I was very excited for this appointment because I have actually been a little anxious about my daughter's developmental delays. My sons were on target with everything and I notice all the things, so it has been bothering me that my daughter was not doing the same. I was looking forward to a professional's guidance and support, and feeling like we had a path forward. I really just wanted some hope and some peace of mind and a plan. My daughter, much like my older kids at this age, is not a fan of strangers right now, especially after the doctor visits she's had in the last six months. Naturally, she cried the moment she realized this appointment was for her (she's 12 months old). When the PT began reviewing our info, one of her very first comments was "I'm very concerned that your pediatrician waited so long to send you because I'm not sure if she'll even let me touch her now." This was such a weird comment to me, and made me a bit frustrated. I cannot change the advice I was given, but now I feel like I've messed up (before we even started the appt) and I feel guilty for my child crying. I'm already feeling like a bad mom at this point of the appointment. For the remainder of our hour, the PT did ask great questions and make great observations, it was clear she was very knowledgable, but I heard the words "very concerned" over and over and over and over again. I can't emphasize that enough. Everything made her "very concerned". I don't think I ever heard "don't worry" or "it's going to be ok" or "we can work on this" or anything encouraging or positive. I left the appointment feeling more anxious, like I had done all the things wrong, my daughter had a lot of "very concerning" signs, and it was already too late for a lot of the suggestions (not enough tummy time, not getting stretches early enough, etc). I really don't want to ding this office, because scheduling was great, the office was nice, and the provider was knowledgable, but I guess the bedside manner just wasn't right for us. read more

Even after that issue was resolved, she continued to support us with helpful exercises to promote our baby's development and symmetry. This review is specifically about the virtual consultation, but I suspect it reflects the business overall. TL;DR: The $150 "consultation" is essentially a 30-minute YouTube video. The baby's head was not evaluated, and the person leading the session is NOT a licensed professional. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ I scheduled a virtual consultation because I was searching for an occupational therapist experienced with flat head treatment. Since there were none available in my area, I gave Baby Begin a try. Insurance: When I asked about insurance, Tammy told me they don't accept it for out-of-state consults. I brushed it off as a location issue. First session: Tammy joined from an iPhone on the free version of Zoom. She barely looked at my child's head and instead ran through generic advice easily found on YouTube. Second session: Hoping for more, I booked a follow-up as recommended. It was the same repetitive information, no real evaluation, no long-term guidance. Afterwards: When I asked for an invoice for insurance, they told me consultations are not considered medical services. That's when I realized Tammy is not a licensed occupational therapist. The website gives the impression that you'll work with licensed OTs, but in reality, the virtual visits are not medical evaluations and do not provide professional guidance. At no point was this clearly disclosed. Instead, it felt like they worked to cover it up. Bottom line: If you're expecting a licensed professional to evaluate your baby's head and provide personalized medical advice, this is not the place. read more

We loved our experience with Baby Begin! The physical therapists were so professional and knowledgeable. They patiently and carefully guided me on stretching exercises to do with our son in between sessions. Over the course of 2 months, our son's flat head rounded out and his torticollis improved a ton. We reached out for evaluation and support getting our preemie caught up to actual age and now at 11 months old we have zero concerns and owe so much of that to Blair! She had easy to follow advice so that we could practice skills with him. At one point we were getting a little worried about him meeting a milestone so she increased visits and he met the milestone and then has done beautifully meeting new milestones since. I strongly recommend avoiding this extremely negligent and unprofessional business. A day after our therapist tested positive for COVID-19, she texted my wife that she "was not feeling well". Out of an abundance of caution my wife asked if it was COVID. No response. I wrote the manager who responded about the positive test that occurred 3 days prior. My 3-mo old was in direct contact with this therapist within a week of testing positive, and they did not proactively notify me. read more

Once we met Amy, our wonderful physical therapist, my baby's whole world has improved. She was born with torticollis, and through stretching and Amy's patience, our daughter is doing so much better. The Baby Begin therapist worked with our daycare caregivers (at Heritage Montessori in Murphy, TX) and trained them on how to do the exercises. That physical therapy alone was sufficient to prevent my son needing a helmet or band. His torticollis in his neck and the flat head symptoms disappeared after a couple of months. Baby Begin is affordable, and my therapist Amy was wonderful with my son. Please do not hesitate to contact them if your baby is showing any signs of plagiocephaly or torticollis. I can't thank Jennifer enough for all the help she provided. My son was 4 months old when we were referred, and he had significant tightness in his neck and flattening on his right side of his head. The stretches and repositioning techniques we learned truly work! With diligence in our repositioning, and stretching multiple times per day, we were able to avoid a helmet. Once we had the education and truly understood what we needed to do and why, everything fell into place. It only took us 4 visits I think (over a couple of months) before we were discharged. I can't express how grateful I am for Baby Begin, and I feel I have been given the tools and knowledge I need to detect and possibly avoid the same problem in the future when I have more children. read more

We had such a great experience with Baby Begin and our therapist Jana. It only took two visits for her to correct our daughter's torticollis and plagiocephaly that had happened due to her position in the womb. She was calm, patient, and friendly and we looked forward to each of her visits. She also stopped by for a quick third visit to check up on us and say goodbye. I cannot say enough great things about Baby Begin. 1st off....they come TO YOU!!! This is key when you have a young one and are working (like me). 2ndly, my baby loved Jennifer even when they were doing hard exercises. She is warm and friendly and knows what she is doing. 3rdly, it works. My son had VERY bad torticollis and not only did he not have to wear a helmet, his head reshaped almost immediately after we started treatment. What a great experience it was working with Baby Begin, specifically Jennifer! We started seeing her when my son was about 8/9 weeks old to treat his torticollis and the beginning stages of flat head. My son had done therapy at another place before I called Jennifer where he cried most of the time during the session and they never provided me with any tools to address the flat head. My favorite part is that Jennifer would come to my house...so convenient when you have a toddler running around. My son was so calm during our sessions and Jennifer truly has a gift for dealing with little babies. The exercises were easy for me to do at home. Jennifer was also very accessible to any question I had via text or email. I also appreciated that she was very encouraging and hopeful since it can be a little overwhelming at first (and plus you are sleep deprived!)
