Finally made it to Babushka's. The decor is a cosy lodge look. The staff was friendly. We sat at the bar versus a table. They have some interesting cocktails but we opted to try a Russian beer which was nice and refreshing. We ordered the salmon bruschetta which was simple but tasty. We also had the Beef Stroganoff which again was simple, the beef was tender but the dish needed a little more flavor. We will return to try the flight of house-made infused vodka. read more

We had lunch here today. The menu so great that we had trouble deciding what to get. The food was delicious and the staff was friendly. I love love love beets so the borscht was right up my alley! We also had semga buterborda that was very tasty...especially the salmon. My husband had the lamb plav and he loved it. We finished up the meal with the honey cake. I was looking for lunch near me and i searched through door-dash and ordered Russian braised cabbage. The order was delivered in 20-25 minutes. The order was hot. The food was good. The only drawback was that the food was too much oily. I will try other options from the menu also. read more

This place was SO cool. The interior has greenery hanging from the ceilings, and the seating area has a cute lounge look. I also love the neon sign that says "from Russia with love", as soon as you walk in! For food, we ordered the Beef Stroganoff, a lamb chop dish that I don't know the name of, and the Beef Pelmini Dumplings. The Beef Stroganoff was probably a 3.5/5 due to the fact that I felt like it needed more flavor. It's basically pasta with shredded lamb in a gravy. My favorite meal was The lamp chop lollipop dish, which would score a 5/5 in my book! It came with mashed potatoes, and this amazing sauce. The Beef Pelmini dumplings were unique but tasty! These dumplings are similar to super tiny meat filled raviolis, and It came with a side of sour cream. There's a full bar so I had a dirty martini, then wrapped the night up with a Jasmine Tea. The tea came in this adorable teapot, and the display was so chic! Make your way over to Babushkas for a unique dinner experience, with authentic Russian Cuisines, and great energy! read more

When we were in town, last week, we visited Babushka's restaurant. This was the best restaurant choice we made during our entire vacation! The food was very delicious, service was great and atmosphere was amazing! We enjoyed every dish we ordered, and we ordered quite a few of them! I have a family of 5 and ordered the beef stroganoff, cheese and beef Samsa, mushroom blinchiki, and the veal dumplings. I ordered pickup and the food was hot and ready on time. Every dish was delicious and my children couldn't get enough of the Samsa's. The beef in my stroganoff was extremely tender and flavorful and we can't wait to go back and try other dishes. read more

A humble rustic decor gives you glimpses of Russia but lets the food be the real star, as it should be! We tried many dishes and there was not one that we didn't love! The entrees were tepid warm the Borscht soup totally unenthusiastic . The interior was very innovative and the staff attentive.

This place has great appetizers and it has a lot of potential, as it offers a cuisine that is unique for the area. Unfortunately that potential is not being lived up to. The main dishes are ok, but 2 people can order the same entree and get different things. 2 of us got one of their chicken dishes that were supposed to come with "homestyle potatoes". On my entree, I got French fries, while the other person at our table got mashed potatoes (and theirs came a good 15 minutes later than mine did). When we brought up the discrepancy with the server, she said "oh they just put whatever potatoes that they have ready", which is ridiculous. I've never heard of a restaurant doing anything like that. A manager came out, corroborated what the server said, and tried to offer us fries or a piece of cake to make up for it, (which we declined because we never wanted fries in the first place, and we were too full for cake). That's their concept of a resolution. Their reservation system is also broken. We reserved a table outside, but they tried to seat us inside when we got there. Luckily they had a table outside ready in 10 minutes. Lastly, when we went to get out car, the valet was driving the car without its headlights on, which is extremely dangerous in the dark. This place clearly has a lot of major issues to address before their full opening. read more

Just moved down to Florida from NE Philly where we had access to a bunch of Russian restaurants. Happy to see that there's a really nice Russian option in the Tampa area. Went there for Father's Day this year and thoroughly enjoyed it. It was our second time there. Place was nearly empty so no issue with social distancing. Staff wore masks as did the kitchen staff who I passed on the way to the ladies room. The food was delicious. We had three appetizers from the blincki section, salmon, mushroom and caviar. It was unique in flavor and taste. We also had the lamb dish which my husband and son thoroughly enjoyed. There was enough for leftovers so it was a snack the next day. My husband and I both had wine, red by the glass. And it was a nice accompaniment to the lamb and appetizers. Also a reasonable price. Definitely recommend this place. Wonderful hidden gem. Visiting from out of town. I am a world traveler and enjoy sampling new flavors and tastes. Have dined at Michelin star and celebrity restaurants and I would say that this place was excellent. Every dish was perfectly prepared and seasoned. You could taste the freshness and the love they put into the food. The menu was diverse with a broad selection of options. We tried the lamb Plov, beef stroganoff, potato pergola, mushroom blinchiki, Siberian Pelmini. Every dish was excellent. walk in, several open tables, they refused to seat us. ordered take out instead of waiting an hour to be seated. ended up sitting outside waiting for the order for that entire hour. went inside several times to check, hostess said, a "couple minutes..." each time... which ended up being a half hour of the wait. worst service ever. they finally released our food to us, and upon eating it, found it to be average, at best. store bought frozen mrs t's pierogis are literally better than the lipton soup mix filled things they gave us. big waste of time and money. never going back. read more
