Service can be slow at times and they never have ketchup on the tables which is odd for a place that has chips and fries. Had a new waitress, who was good to me, but fouled things up for other customers and her co-workers. Customers asked her for refills, condiments and she just went off to other customers and never got people their stuff. I ordered a Coke that I never got, but fortunately wasn't charged for either. Ordered the breaded pork tenderloin sandwich with housemade potato chips and an extra side salad. Paid $1 extra for bleu cheese crumbles, but only for one tiny clump of cheese -- so "a" crumble -- not multiple crumbles. It was a good salad otherwise for $3.99. The pork tenderloin was a bit greasy with a bit of fat, but nicely breaded and seasoned. I think it came on a potato bun, which changed the flavor, so I left the bun, along with a sad leaf of lettuce and flavorless, sliver of hydroponic tomato. No pickle on the side. Housemade chips were pretty good. I just moved to the area, so I'm sure I'll be back and try other stuff on the menu. read more

I can only hope this is an unusual night considering all the positive reviews... but imho, my wife and I ordered burgers, her's a1/4 lb w fries, mine a babes burger, 1/2 lb w bacon and onion rings, and we had 6 traditional wings w their babes buffalo dry rub... the dry rub was saucy and spicy, which i like but my wife can't tolerate and the description and waitress never mentioned... our burgers were both with little to no flavor, fries and onion rings cool... had to stop waitresses for napkins, never got ketchup or mustard on the table, never was asked how the meal was after initial serving, and by the end when we gave them 1/2 of every part of the meal back and complained, they offered 5$ off a 65$ bill. I will say we went there a few years back and had burgers, steak, and ribs, all were outstanding... not sure what has happened since but nothing was close this trip. We will not recommend to anyone nor ever return. Additionally, I witnessed food deliveries going to wrong table 3 or 4 times, so maybe that's why our did was luke-cool (wings were hot in delivery). like no system of organization. Driving through town and reviews were good for this restaurant. Wow! Everything was fresh, hot and delicious!!! I had the Bourbon Burger, the best that I have ever had! My husband had the Philly Steak Sandwich! Oh my word! It was amazing! Had chili, the best restaurant chili that we have had. Husband had turtle cheesecake for dessert---yummy! Slow service, 2 tables that came in after us got their orders taken before us. Ordered a horseshoe and the burger was rare (not ordered rare) fried were not done. Sent it back and just ordered fries with cheese and those fried were much better. The main reason for the 1 start was the slow service and when we got our bill they didn't take the horseshoe off they just discounted it $7. Rented a lakehouse in Havana and stumbled across this place. Great service and food was delicious. We ordered the mushrooms (perfectly fried and not soggy) and a large order of traditional wings (lemon pepper, garlic) to start off with. Wings were a good size and both flavors were good! For entrees we had chili, grilled chicken sandwich and their signature burger. All were amazing especially that blue cheese sauce on the burger! Our waitress was super sweet, kind, and attentive. I was giving a 4 star on the food and had to rank it 5 stars due to our server. Great job! read more

It was so delicious I came the next day and tried the Summer Salad. The BLT was my favorite with an ample amount of delicious and creamy blue cheese and a house dressing that reminded me of a spiced up ranch. If you're not a blue cheese person but loves fruit then the Summer salad is the way to go with fresh strawberries, craisins and mandarin oranges topped off with bacon dressing. Great, local restaurant that never disappoints! I've tried many different things on the menu and they have always been great. Portions are good sized and the prices are on point! If you have a big appetite, try the Babe's shoe (half portion is plenty for 1 person) and you will not be disappointed. The specialty salads are also great and always fresh! I'm not a big tenderloin fan but several dinner partners have had them and raved about them, along with the burgers. After having a great visit last week, we stopped by Babe's on Plum again this weekend when we passed near again - we actually went out of our way to visit but hoped it would be worth it. They didn't do quite as well this time as they did last time. We think it was because they were accommodating a large group - probably 25+ people, and that seemed to be more than their staff could handle at one time. They told us to sit down at a dirty table - which is never a good idea, so we waited for them to clean it first. We waited a while and finally got up to get our own menus and silverware. Eventually water showed up and we ordered. The chips my wife received were so salty she couldn't eat them. We would have asked for a replacement, but the waitress didn't come back to check on us until we were all through - even though I tried to catch her attention. We were offered a replacement after were done eating, but who needs chips then? They offered to give us some to go, but they really aren't as good as when they are fresh, so we declined. Once again, the hamburgers tasted very good and were well-prepared. When the large group got up to leave, they all paid by individual checks, and that took over 10 minutes. I think we'll try again in the future, but if we see the place is busy or if there is a large group, we'll go somewhere else. read more

My wife and come to Babes often We live in Canton and it's always been a place we enjoy eating lunch and also Easter buffet Both of us are retired and also enjoyed the drive to Havana We were going to come get lunch a couple weeks ago but the snow and ice were getting bad so we decided to turn around and eat in Canton. We were disappointed. So today we decided to have lunch after my doctors appointment from post op Lumbar Fusion Surgery with Hardware.We arrived at Babes. We placed our order and it seemed like it was taking a little long but no big deal. It's a nice place with a friendly staff. Then our waitress came by and said I'm getting your food now. Great! Then nothing no food yet waitress came by our table a few times and said nothing No problem we figured she just made a mistake It was lunch time and they were busy. Then a lady comes out and says we don't have Buffalo Seasoning for your chicken wings. I said you are just telling me this now. She responded yes. Never offered or suggest anything else. I said okay we are going somewhere else and her response was okay My wife left 5.00 for the sodas on the table and we left As we get into our truck ( it took a few minutes because of my surgery it's not like we ran out) this lady came out and started yelling at us saying that we walked out on our meal AND said we didn't pay for our sodas. We said we left 5.00 for the sodas and the lady said no you didn't and I'm calling the police and telling them you didn't pay for your meal. We did say go ahead you didn't have what we asked for. She did say our food was cooked all we needed to do was change what type of seasoning I wanted for the wings. Okay I realize that's an easy fix and I would of been happy change if I was told or asked that when they said they were out of the Buffalo seasoning So now here she comes with her phone camera and takes a picture of my license plate and is going back in and is calling the law. I've been only 5 weeks out of having this surgery and honestly I didn't feel like going back in to eat. So I ask my wife please just go in and pay for the food It's not worth my time to deal with this crap with this lady yelling at us making us feel we walked out just because and not pay for our food So my wife goes in pays the ticket for 34.00 and change and told them to keep the food. Why because to us it's the principle of the matter we figured they really needed the money more than us. Oh and the 5.00 we supposedly didn't leave on the table they gave it back to my wife after the lady cook or manager accused us of not paying for our sodas. It's ashame when you get blame for something and you just get yelled at and not given a chance to explain We are not children we are in our early 60s retired and own our home and vehicles. Not to be arrogant but we are not hurting for money that we need to try not to pay for our meal. I feel Babes lost some good customers today and I'll be letting my family know maybe they should eat somewhere else. These would be the same people we have said Go eat at Babes in Havana Great food Nice people and just a nice place to eat. I came in there with a group of about 10 people. One friend that was with us is a regular at this bar. The bartender didn't want to accept my out of state ID, which is understandable but she was very rude about it. Then continued to give poor service. Didn't give me a menu, silverware, or even offer me a water. And on top of that continued to talk poorly about me to the other waitress. Not acceptable service!!
