The lady who helped us (who I can only assume was the owner) was the sweetest and kindest sales person I've ever met. She made great suggestions, was so friendly and really was so patient with my super cranky daughter that would not stop crying. She tried to cheer her up and even gave her a lollipop. She put together a whole outfit which was all reasonably priced. You honestly can't pay for that kind of customer service these days so it was refreshing to see. I will definitely keep Kostatex in mind for future events. This place and its staff are just simply amazing!

So much is only available on the web. Well if you are looking for: - baptismal outfits - christening gowns (including the traditional long ones), and outfits for boys - formal wear for young girls or boys (for flower girl or confirmation or other such events) Well..... LOOK NO FURTHER!! This place is great! So much selection, and the staff and owner couldn't have been more helpful! My niece lives out of Toronto, so they let me take pictures and send to her, and then we discussed it on the phone and we made the choice over which one we wanted. This is a small family run business but they have been on the Danforth for a long time. That speaks for itself.... and frankly based on the service I had today, they'll be there for much longer! So if this is the type of clothing that you are looking for - head on over -- you won't be disappointed!! Outfits were available in every price range - so no matter what your needs and budget, you'll find something here! (BTW - some other lady was in there -- and like me, noticed their new sign and went in and found exactly what she was looking for). These folks are few and far between -- so to have a shop where you could see the goods, match shoes and socks etc to it --- wonderful!

My last purchase was a Veja shoe and when i was at the store it seemed ok but when I tried at home with a sock it was a bit tight. I tried to exchange for one size larger and because I didn't have the box with me they didn't any to do anything about it. I didn't wear once and still sitting on my closet. I have always tried to support the local shops but I don't feel like going back there ever again. thank you so much for your good business " Good Neighbour"

Housed in a cute Victorian small-town cottage beside the Leslieville Pumps gas station/grub joint, the store is like a teleporter to that other side of Queen Street, that I wonder if I am even in my own neighbourhood anymore whenever I step inside. I guess it's a sign of the times in the east end, as much as it is an interesting addition to the Leslieville strip. I was forwarded a meme whilst contemplating this nonsense (because apparently no one else has yet, bloody hell), and on it, a satirical list of things purported to be signs your 'hood is gentrifying, including an "inexplicable general store." Inexplicable. General. Store. I guess that best explains Good Neighbour. True to form, the place is filled with all sorts of eclectic and stylish stuff of all random categories scattered everywhere, like greeting cards, clothes and outerwear, mugs, footwear, backpacks, cosmetics, stationery. It's sort of like a Drake General Store (or maybe even an Urban Outfitters), but with more emphasis on fashion and lifestyle goods... and less on random cheeky hipster gag gift kitsch. There's a small kids section tucked in the back by the fitting room stalls, with an assortment of dresses, toys, puzzles, and humourous books. The men's stuff upstairs kind of scares me with the quantity of soaps and toiletries for the discerning well-groomed hip man. The place itself is a marriage of curated hip(ster) tastes (oh wait, they even have a table of selected Drake General Store crap for sale), and Club Monaco chic. Thankfully like a good neighbour the folks here don't stink so much of that douchey we're-too-cool-for-thou attitude that many hipster businesses are known for--they instead stink of individual cheerful Queen West-esque personality and a level of helpfulness not normally seen in a more corporate fashion boutique. Pricey? Kinda expected that. What is not expected are the sale offers that do pop up time and time again. My sister claims she bought a pair of jeans here for less than what Hudson's Bay was charging for the same brand. But I usually end up with socks, or scarves, or cards. Or whatever. {TTC: take the 72 bus or the 501-2-3 to Queen/Carlaw}

Before you think this is the children's line for the sultry Bebe's women fashion line, it is NOT. Back to your search before you start dressing your child like one of those Bratz dolls. And in most RANDOM stores I've found in Toronto, it's gotta be this one. Bebe is located just north of Pape Station and specializes in baptism and first communion clothing. It's Greek obvs. I know it's been around for over 20 years. I also know the window display just changed in 2010. It is the store that won't die. VIBE So for fun, I decided to go in here with a friend and it was so awkward because 1. we had to knock on the door to get in and 2. the lady didn't speak English. So naturally, we pretended we were married looking for a christening gown for our child. It didn't go over so well. The lady could hardly understand us. That said, man, there are a LOT of white mini-gowns in here. I'm not sure of the price points. We didn't get that far. OBLIGATORY CATCHY REMARK Bring a Greek friend with you. It may help if you're making a serious purchase. Otherwise, are you us? Do you pretend to have a husband so you can peep into a store you've wondered about for 20 years? Yeah...

Sales staff are harried on Boxing Day. I have been one, and my kids are similar in age to the clerks I encountered today, thus it took a SERIES OF UNABASHED INSULTS to elicit this negative review. I apologize that I can't reproduce the literal lip-curling sneer with which the redhead said (and I am NOT kidding) "Are you here to BUY something? Or..." and "So you're done looking, then?" I was there about fifteen minutes, because (it being a BOGO sale) I could not find a second garment I wanted. I tried on two sets of items, and while in the change room with the last batch, heard the blond, and slightly older woman say "Make sure it doesn't smell before you put it back on the floor." I cracked the curtain to ascertain it was the blouse I'd tried the brunette held up to her face, and then decided to post this review. NOTE to YOKA: I am not deaf, stupid, dirty, or a thief. They're smart busniess people they know what's going to fit/look good, sometimes before I've even tried something on. They always have great suggestions, they're not hard sell and they have their own tailor off site. The owner is the nicest woman who really knows her stuff (she's the stores buyer I believe) and the clothing they have here come from all over the world, so the likelihood of you showing up somewhere in the same outfit as someone else is next to impossible. The quality of the clothes is exceptional, the prices are reasonable if you're looking for pieces that will stand the test of time. I've purchased everything from shoes, to jewellery, casual sweaters and T shirts to dresses I've worn to film premiers. The also have amazing sales and mens clothes. I've been shopping here since I was 19 and broke as a joke. At this point the majority of my closet was purchased at this store... and everyone I know wants to borrow something :)
