The first dildo I pick up was literally $147 and I was like okay maybe this is the ~luxury~ aisle... nope the majority of the dildos were $80+. This is a great shop! My favorite thing about this adult shop is how comfortable I feel here. Often, at adult shops, I feel grossed out as a woman. Not here! No racist, 'barely 18' or creepy branded products that I am so used to seeing in adult shops. Here they also carry the higher quality brands, and brands that are safe for women to use (such as lube that does not have sugar in it!) . This shop is VERY inclusive of all people (specifically referring to LGBT folks). My first trip to Babeland was to the one in Manhattan years ago. I was super impressed how nice it was in comparison to the kinda gross sex shops in the West Village. And I am still impressed by what a comfortable, female friendly shop it is. Of course there are more of these kinds of shops than ever before, but its still lovely to have this store in Seattle. This store has a great selection of condoms, sex toys, lubes, restraints, etc. All of the basic things you would expect from an adult store (you may have to head to the internet for more esoteric items), at a wide variety of pricing options. Their condom deals are nice, I think you can get a dozen or a bakers dozen and get a discount, which lets you try a bunch of different types for about the same price you would pay for a box at a regular pharmacy. I had a chance to stop by Babeland for the first time ever for a Yelp event this past week. I was actually surprised as how great this place looks and feels and how you won't feel intimidated by the things you look/played /judged at all by the reps or anyone in the store. I never actually stopped by this place because I always had a wrong perception of sex toys/sex ed places as dingy place full of either weirdo or creepy people. However, this wasn't the case. Babeland is actually is a very welcoming and accepting place foe people/couples or singles of all types (except those under 18+!). I like that they have so many samples for you to feel out (lots of toys and lubes!)and, from what the store reps said, all products are safe to human bodies (this is not the case with all the adult stores!). They mentioned that they have somewhat limited apparel, but if needed, they can help recommend/suggest good places to get what you want In addition to interesting sex ed classes/sessions,they also offer free mini events for the community once or twice a month, too. They also have hosting events for fun gatherings, bachelorette parties, or just some education/fun that you might want to have with your friends/partners! I am in love with this area of Capitol Hill, including Babeland. For one, I do not like being made to feel uncomfortable when I am walking into any adult store, but this street is like Lively & Healthy Sexuality St. Other adult stores are drab, black, and you'll occasionally find a homeless person tucked away in a corner.
