Fine for a few after work drinks, better still for a a Friday evening and highly recommended for all-day-Saturday cocktails.

Being huge fans of 80's we had to step inside even though it was 7pm. As we walked down the first set of stairs we are greated with a David Hasselhoff picture on a door, with 80's music playing, broad smiles crossed our faces. Itcouldn't believe we hadn't been here before! A friend had told us of such a place but to actually be there it was kind of a dream come true. It had just opened so it wasn't busy, we walked around checking out the A-Team, Flash Gordon the screen, and the many, many weird electric plastic things you can buy for cheap. (including a cone bra, glittered hats and glowsticks) The drinks are named after classic 80's things, (blue lagoon, the knightrider) and for £15 you can purchase a plastic margarita glass full of your favourite cocktail the likes of only Vegas can provide. Since it was so early we didn't have to pay cover or wait outside, just walked right in and had a drink each. In the process we bumped into a stag night group who were quite entertaining. The place losses a star because the volume of the music (which border lined on 70's disco sometimes) was deafening for 9pm, and on Friday and Saturday nights it must be avoided as it's THE place for Stag and Hen nights. Meaning a lot of drunken messes. It's only open three days a week so keep that in mind. There's no cover on Thursdays, my friend and myself cannot wait to go back to see how it is during the week with a group of our friends and the proper 80's dance wear.

This is not the best club in Shoreditch - for sure - but it does have history…read more You can find this place in a little "hidden" deactivated railway that has been turned into a concert/rave venue with lots of crazy people dancing. I must say that I thought my night out here would be a little more "alternative" but this is certainly the mainstreamest place around the area. Personal opinion aside this it's a cool spot. Two dance floors, a bar with a couple of places to sit and an outside area (where you will freeze on Winter). The bouncers are not the most polite people in the world - where are the nice bouncers any way? You will arrive, and it doesn't matter how old you look they will scan your ID, many times. You will come in, and still, not a single smile from them. But the rudeness hasn't arrived yet, they will turn mad specially if you put your coat or purse on a table/chair and dance around it. They will claim it's not safe, but the real reason is: they want you to use their cloakroom (£2 per item). I have never ate here, but they do have a menu. Although if it gets as expensive as the entry you should rather spend your pounds in a nice restaurant, and Shoreditch has plenty of options.

We finally got to go in (after complaining for about an hour.) it just felt like they were eyeing our group the whole time even thought we paid for table services. If you want to have a good time this place needs to change their views and stop all racism then i would recommend it. Stay away for now

The idea of having a club with a…read moreswimming pool really did appeal to me and my friends when we were around 18, many of us would go there to get our cheap thrills, looking through the windows of the pool area. The great thing was that you didn't have to swim, and if you did, it would cost an extra five pound, that would get you access to the pool and a towel. I do enjoy a swim, but I tend to go swimming pools at fitness centres, costing a lot less. The last time I went to the Club Aquarium was for an after party, we got the at 6 am and left at around 10 am, so it's a venue that provides a challenge, to party all night. It is a very well known venue with a great sound system, so it often has top DJ's performing. It is only a few minutes walk from Old Street Tube, so if your in the Old Street area and the club you were at shut at 4am, you can make your way to the Aquarium, chill there, watch people swim, have a drink, and by the time you do all that through the crowd, the underground would have opened. It is the only club in the UK to have a pool, it's a novelty and worth a visit. Definitely suggest the morning after party's.

Though it is a novelty to find yourself swimming at midnight you quickly realise that it's proabably an activity best confined to daylight hours. The rest of the interior plays upon the underwater theme with soft ethereal coloured lighting and white drapes criss-crossing the ceiling. This place generally attracts friendly, possilby slightly perverted people eager for the opportunity to see someone in a two-piece. Music-wise each night is different and offer alternatively cheesy pop, electro, funky house and disco so it's always best to check for the night that suits you best. Drinks are fairly expensive but pretty standard for this club strewn area of London. A nice place to come with a group of mates but because of its novelty it's unlikely to become a regular to many.

Don't go! Seriously - it's all mine and I don't want to share it…read more Okay that is a bit extreme but this place is the most magical club in the world and I'm resenting every letter I type here. So here's the deal, I'll write this and you'll appreciate it but never actually set foot it this place..okay? Good! I discovered this club/venue through my far too cool flatmate and we went on Halloween. It was like a huge house party full of your friends in some of the most horrific fancy dress I have ever seen. They have a small stage at the front where local artists perform alongside burlesque dancers for a truly eye opening experience. The place is filled with party people who dress funny even when they aren't in fancy dress and the drinks are cheap enough to get drunk on £20. That is after playing a whooping £10 to get in. Since that night I have been back a few times and every time I do it gets harder to get in. The queues are longer and the door staff ruder, in fact this Halloween we got there and they wouldn't even let us in at all. At 7pm (and I like to say that the normal starting time for things like this is about 11pm) there was over 200 people outside all waiting. We were not one of the lucky ones. So if I have had all of this trouble why so many star? It will still always be an amazing mixture of students, artists and free thinkers out for a good night with like minded people in a historic venue. There is even a Banksy painted on one side of it's wall. I wish more places would be like this so that we could all fit in!

The seat of the chair I sat on fell through between the legs as I adjusted my bum on it, and the stage was set with a massive light-festooned heart and a fabric vag the size of a sofa. Admittedly, this happened to be on the night of The Vagina Monologues performance and the crowd was teeming with lesbians and feminists, so that might explain the decor. I figure that the booze is typically cheap and that the space is just as grotty for any other event. The beauty of it is that's all it's meant to be - no more and no less. ---- As an aside... how does one punctuate the gents'? Gents? Gent's? Gents'?
