The pizza takes about 10 minutes in the pizza oven, there's a homey dinning area in the back corner filled with historical photos and artifacts about the area. The lady that runs the store is super sweet- she accommodated us by giving our change back in quarters for the showers at the campsite. Pro-tip: there is a bookshelf in the back for you to take, enjoy and forward on. How kind is that?!?

As you walk inside you're immediately greeted at the door with a "good afternoon" and the store appeared to be in great shape and clean. The men's restroom could use some work but what can you expect when you use a gas station bathroom right? People in and out all day long. Anyway, after getting coffee the clerk told us to have a great day and we were on our way out. I will gladly use this gas station again! Groceries. Fishing bait and tackle. Unfortunately, the day I want the coffee machine was not functioning. And the coffee shop next-door was not open mid week. It's a gas station too. Located right next to the post office in Lutsen. There's not much else around. They have some cold sandwiches that you can heat up in a microwave, but no grab and go hot food. No fresh pastries, or donuts, everything is premade and packaged. A decent store with some nice variety.

Would just like to mention this Gateway General Store. Like another Yelper out there…read moreexplained...this place has everything. It's the perfect little stop for anything you may need in preparation for visiting Voyageurs National Park. Although Voyageurs NP is huge and there are 3 main sections to it, this Gateway General Store is ideally situated right smack in the middle of it all off the main road in the quiet town of Kabetogama, MN. For me I was camping about 7 miles away for a few days while exploring around Voyageurs and each morning I made it a priority to come by here to to load up on my days worth of food, snacks and any little extras I may have needed. In fact, Kabetogama is so small I wouldn't even know where else to go for the essentials!?!? I'd like to take an excerpt from the Gateway General Store website that sort of sums up the experience that you can expect when stopping on by...."One of the last "True" General Stores where you can find everything.  Regardless of where you pitch your tent or hang your hat you are ALWAYS welcome at Gateway!" They serve hot coffee and breakfast sandwiches in mornings and then as well as prepared cold cut sandwiches for lunch including all the drinks even desserts you may need. For at night when I was barbecuing at my campground, they had all the supplies, hot dogs, hamburgers, charcoal, etc, for my cookouts. I also noticed, Voyageurs NP is a park surrounded by infinite waters and it's best explored by boat. So...the amount of people first coming here in morning times for fishing staples were endless. Each sunrise I stopped on by, it was sort of a ritual for fisherman to go inside before heading out to the docks and piers for the day. They have gas if you need to fill up. Prices were pretty reasonable and not elevated for such a remote park that is Voyageurs...right near the border with Canada. Store hours are 7am - 8pm daily. If anyone cares, the address is....9378 US-53, Kabetogama, MN 56669. Or you can just plug the name into Google Maps on your phone and it'll instantly be recognized. Btw, besides all the food and provisions included, they also have a little gift shop/souvenir store for grabbing your little keepsakes and memorabilia because there's not many options around town other than the Voyageur's Visitor Centers. You can just do all your shopping here at the store. I also like the blue collar feel walking inside. The store had an old fashioned cabin/lodge setting as if I was transported back to simpler times. It definitely had a cozy/charming feeling. Finally, right across the street, if you need to find extra parking because the store got crowded out front with cars, you can do it. Plus, you'll find there's a terrific entrance sign worthy of a photo, at least in my opinion. It says..."Welcome to Kabetogama Lake Voyageurs National Park!" Cool! Overall, I really appreciated all the accessible amenities that this Gateway General Store offered. And for those national park enthusiasts out there needing to check every park off their "to-do lists", when you finally arrive at Voyageurs, you'll almost certainly have to stop on by here and you'll be pleasantly surprised with all the goods and necessities offered, perfect for spending time among nature and the great outdoors.

Bathrooms repaired and reopened in late 2018. They're clean…read more The store was for sale as of November 2019. It's a mix of convenience store / gas station / sporting goods / liquor & beer / "at least 1 of anything you'd need in the wilderness" store. They've saved 2 of my hunting trips over the decades having items I'd broken or left at home. Keep an eye on expiration dates. On 2 different occasions we discovered perishables past their expiration dates. Once we didn't notice the milk was well past the sell by date until we were back at the shack.
