This Thai restaurant is top shelf in my opinion. I have tried all other Thai options in the area, and none compare to Baanthai. My wife and I order takeout just about every week. Tom Kha soup with chicken is amazing. Pad Thai, solid dish. Half the time we get it with chicken, the other half with tofu. Both are highly recommended. I like extra limes to add to the flavor. Papaya Salad, might be the best I have ever tasted. The Sunday Brunch at the Buddhist Temple in Berkeley might be slightly better, but I'll take Baanthai dish the other six days of the week. Yellow curry with Chicken is delightful and the potato and carrots are always properly cooked. Spicy eggplant with chicken is another favorite of mine. Eggplant is always cooked perfectly. This is only for the takeout portion. It is always so easy to order from this place, but I mainly ordered two things from here. First off the large high tea is pretty significantly large. This is a large drinking water cup as a measurement next to it. And the other one is for the chicken pad ew si. This dish is always a fan favour in our house and hubby also loves to share this dish as well. It is well sauced, it's very easy to eat and we like the amount of vegetable it has in it as well. Came in on a Friday around 6:15pm. Brought some friends here for the first time. Paulette was as friendly as she always is : ) We ordered the usual drunken noodle with chicken, red curry with rice, pad thai and papaya salad. All were ordered medium. All were FANTASTIC! I treated my mom to lunch today. We were excited about this place. It was empty when we arrived. Right off the back the hostess/waitress seemed off and unwelcoming. The entire visit she was unpleasant or welcoming. We felt like we weren't wanted there. Then another family walked in and she was just as rude and unwelcoming to them. I just had to leave a review. This place is GREAT! The older woman was cooking when I walked in to grab my order to go. I am a huge Thai food enthusiast and I was so happy with the taste of my pad see ew, the spice amount, its portions, and its price! The tom yum was also so perfect too. Came here on a recommendation from a coworker and what a hidden gem! We used to travel 40 miles to find great Thai food but now we have found it even closer to work and home. We ordered the combo appetizer plate. It came with 4 sauces. The food did NOT need the sauces. Everything was so tasty. We tried the sauces and really enjoyed the peanut sauce which tasted fresh. I ordered the red curry with pork and she ordered the Pad Se Ew...both very tasty. We are definitely coming back and I would recommend this place to anyone nearby! I was very happy to be able to visit this restaurant for the first time. My wife and I had not eaten most of the day and it was a good time as any get a meal. When we walked in, we were greeted and welcomed and asked to sit wherever we would like. The restaurant is clean, with plenty of natural light beaming in through the large windows. The colors are inviting and has the vibe of old Chinese restaurants I used to frequent with my family when I was growing up. The service was quick and the servers were knowledgeable. We ordered the Tom Kah coconut soup, the pad see ew flat noodles, and sticky rice. I absolutely love that the coconut soup was served in the pot with the sterno still burning. I haven't seen anything like this in this area and it was nice that it was served this way not only for aesthetic but to keep the soup warm for as long as we could have it. This style ensures that each scoop is as warm or almost as warm as the first scoop. The flavor of the soup was monumental and took me back to when I was in college the first time I had Thai food. The flat noodles are always my favorite. Not only do I order them often, but in my own way, it shows me whether or not the chef is really about that life. With these noodles, it is often easy for cooks to smash them all together and only season the first and last noodles that they bunched together. When you pull apart the noodles, these were cooked perfectly. They were not over seasoned and the vegetables, tofu and egg were well seasoned and tasted amazing. I love the way that the tofu was cooked in that it had a great texture to complement the noodles. Finally, we asked for mango sticky rice. I was a little disappointed when they did not have mangoes but my wife still wanted the rice and we were not disappointed in that. I know that the next time we come here, those mangoes will be just right for the compliment of this rice Judging strictly off of the dishes we enjoyed. Overall, we really enjoyed this place. Perhaps the only thing anyone would really have to worry about is the parking situation as it shares a space with a bank, Starbucks, and a huge Chevron gas station. Other than that, this place looks like it can hold about 20 guests comfortably. We really enjoyed this place and we look forward to visiting again very soon. read more

The service was good cause we're the only ones there dining in on a Friday night evening. The place is pretty spacious. Tom Yam soup was good. I ordered a seafood combination. 3 pieces of shrimp only. Thai papaya was actually not bad. I normally don't like it unless it is Laos style. Eggplants dish: It was not an eggplant dish. Literally, only 5 chuck of eggplants mix with so many other vegetables. And the eggplants were not soft enough. Last but not least, the drucken noodle. It's was not the normal famous drucken noodle flavor I have. We literally just picked at it and wasted money. If you want thai food, it's ok. read more

TomKha coconut soup is very tasty..best coconut TomKha soup i had for quite a long time in this town last decade..definitely way better than that of Thai food downtown ...nice portion enough for ~3-4ppl serving. Spicy levels on mild side..if like it spicy might need to ask adding more heats. Nice location on Bogue Rd/Garden Hwy in YC..easy parking..quiet business complex. Clean, airy nice dining establishment. The service was great..waitress nice n friendly. We ordered also chicken cashew vegetables dish and chicken yellow curry and shared 1 bowl of steamrice (came in a large clay bowl), the curry was slightly too brothy watery to me as I like a much thicker consistency curry to eat with steam rice amid satisfied with the contents of potatoes, carrots, onion n chicken in it. However, overall food was enjoyable. I felt like eating nostalgically my mother's cooking. We had much leftover to take home, enough for another meal. If you're looking for watered down Thai food, go to Plumas Street. All the dishes we had here were jam packed with flavor and spice like -authentic Thai food is supposed to taste like. What we ordered: Egg rolls- Fresh, crispy, came with a sweet sauce on the side. Spicy fried rice in mild- True mild heat, increase the spice level with that in mind. Flavorfully full of veggies. Daily special of chicken coconut curry- Perfect balance of sweet and heat, plenty of meat and veggies, came with a side of white rice which pairs perfectly. Pad Thai- Delicious! Can't go wrong with it. Large helping too! Thai tea and Thai coffee: Never going to Starbucks for coffee as long as they are open when I need a caffeine fix. Seriously SO tasty and refreshing! I'm not usually a fan of Thai tea but this one was on the sweeter side which is right up my alley. Looking forward to exploring more of the menu and leaving full and completely satisfied. WOW! So I just found this spot today and placed my first order.....I'm so glad that I did! It's located on the southeast side of Yuba City in the Power Market shopping center on Bogue, right across from Starbucks, and there's plenty of parking around them. The food was absolutely amazing, this is what I ordered: Combo appetizers 9/10 Shrimps- large, perfectly crunchy, deep fried deliciousness. Loved pairing these with the peanut sauce. Chicken Satay- served skewered with an amazing curry flavor, very tasty. The cucumber salad and peanut sauce that came with it were delish. I'd love to be able to order both of those in larger sizes they're so good. Dumplings- lightly fried, flavorful pork filling with veggies YUM! The chili in sweet black soy sauce dip that accompanied it had such a distinct flavor. There's a smokiness to it, definitely give it a try. Egg Rolls- classic crunchy goodness and full of flavor. Unfortunately mine didn't have the sweet and sour sauce but I'll make sure to try some next time. Spicy Fried Rice 10/10 Delicious. The soft scent of basil and jasmine instantly made my mouth water lol I ordered mine with chicken and spicy level Hot which was lovely but I'm used to really spicy food so next time I'll definitely try Extra Hot :-) Pad Woonsen w/chicken 10/10 Glass noodle heaven! A delicious stir-fry with incredible flavor and a subtle hint of sweetness. If you like mushrooms definitely give this one a try. Thai Iced Tea- 10/10 It's tea and it's Thai. It's awesome. Loved it. Every single thing was delicious! So authentic and incredibly flavorful, I was really blown away. All of the portions were on the larger side and could definitely feed at least two people. The only thing that could've made this experience even better is if they'd had Pra Ram on the menu :-) The peanut sauce they make is already so incredibly HEAVENLY I can only imagine how it would pair in that dish! As a local, I had high hopes for this restaurant given the lack of good Thai food. Have them multiple chances but every meat dish that I have ordered came with just a few pieces of meat and fairly plain flavors. It's nice to see a family working together to make an operation run, but stretching their margins with less protein isn't the way to do it for long term success. The pandemic put the skids on their reopening but they finally did it! Tucked away off Brogue Road, you will enjoy everything you order. My wife was born and raised in Thailand and if she says it's the real deal, then who's to argue. We took our family there and was so glad the quality was the same as we remembered in Marysville. Everything is brand new: tables, chairs, dishes, kitchen...everything! They are a decorating work in progress, but the food is why you should stop by! My all time favorite Thai Restaurant! Very authentic food at great prices and the best service in town. The peanut sauce is to die for so Chicken Satay is a must! Also recommend the pineapple fried rice, mango curry, drunken noodles, fresh rolls... and the list goes on. Thai iced tea and coffees are fabulous as well. Sweet mango with rice makes a nice dessert to finish. The Tom Kai soup is the tops for me.
