The building has to be over 125 years old. As my friend said, you know if people was their hands because the only sink is just outside the restrooms. Despite the buildings dated charm, it was clean. Our server took our order quickly and the food came soon after, and boy did the food come. Three of us ordered two cheeseburgers and an order of half and half - cheeseballs and french fries. I ordered a cheeseburger for myself and my friend and his cousin split a cheeseburger. The portions are enormous. The half and half filled a regular sized dinner plate and was spilling off the sides. The burger hung off the bun by a couple inches on all sides. Food taste was fine. The cheeseballs and fries tasted like typical Sysco or US Foods. Nothing fancy or notable other than the price and the size of the order. The burger was also good not really great. Decently seasoned, cooked to medium/medium well, I prefer mine closer to medium rare. This too was memorable due to the size and price. $7.50 for an 11 ounce cheeseburger is unheard of anymore and $8 for two full pounds of fries and cheese curds is CRAZY! You definitely get your moneys worth here. Bottom line: Good food Enormous portions (That make it the real reason to come her) Great value

I live over in So Dak and make the drive to Martinsburg nearly every month because there is nothing that even begins to compare to Bob's anywhere else in the Tri-State region. I'm going to try and not make this review a comparison between the two. The location isn't the easiest to get to, but parking is ample. It's also connected to a family fun center and a bowling alley. Right across the lot is the city's minor-minor-minor (I don't know the official term) baseball league home. It's all next to an ice rink that is used for sports and recreation. It's a great family-friendly area of Sioux City. Food is the same as the SSC location which is wonderful. They have the BEST burgers in town. I also LOVE their fries. The only thing not making these restaurants my favorites is the ranch dressing. They just use generic, bottled ranch. It's not good. I'd kill if they made actual 'restaurant' ranch. I've literally brought in my own ramekin of ranch when I'm craving a meal I usually eat with it. BUT, the brown gravy and queso are to die for. It would be a part of my last meal. Staff is great. This area has a smaller bar than the SSC area, but the bartenders whip up everything the same. I don't drink, but they're down for their margaritas. This place is kinda like a locally-owned Chilis, but with better food. A great place for even a couple drinks and some poutine.

Slice of bacon(real), pickle and olives, rimmed with celery salt & pepper. This was delicious. I ended up having 2! Ordered the onion rings with house made ranch sauce. Love the ranch. The rings were more like strings (which I love). Big ol heap! Loved these. Main course! I got the prime rib with parmesan fries and green beans. Parm fries were crispy and tasted great. The prime had great flavor but was a lil tough to cut. Nice thickness though. The au jus tasted more like pre-made but not quite sure. The green beans were quite rubbery & squeaky but not a huge deal as I had already eaten my weight in onion rings & fries. My other half had the prime rib philly. He said it was good and had great flavor. Wasn't a bad choice. The atmosphere was part bar & grill and other half was quiet sit down type. It was a confusing entry. I think we were suppose to be seated but there wasn't a sign and nobody really acknowledged us when we walked in the bar side. No biggie, we found our own booth. If we would be in the neighborhood again we of course would stop. They had a good crowd. I would suggest to try it out. Oh and I was too full to try the cheesecake but wish I could've.

Fried pickles spears with the rock n roll sauce were great. I wouldn't have ordered these except my server recommended them out of all the apps, so I went with that. Fried things at places like this usually lack flavor and are just salty, fried bar food. These had some kick. The rock n roll sauce was like a Mayo with Frito's Chili Cheese Twists, so they were yummy. Tilapia on wild rice was ok, but it's tilapia, so how amazing can it be, right? Broccoli wasn't too over cooked and it still had a healthy green color, so I was happy with that. And the fries were a tad greasy, but they came out hot and crunchy. I think if they let the oil drain off them a bit more under a heat lamp, they'd hold their crispness a bit longer. Oh, and it was an entire plate of fries, so portions were generous. Lastly, everything was served very quickly. The place wasn't super-busy, but it wasn't dead and I was happy about the timeliness. I ordered an app first then placed an order for my entree after munching on that. And I was out done in 45 minutes. Granted, I was eating alone, but still. If you enjoy meat, I highly recommend giving this place a shot. I am a pescatarian (mostly vegetarian) and I have a sneaking suspicion that their beef and chicken options have much more developed flavors.

They do have a 4% credit card processing fee which seems a bit steep compared to other restaurants that typically do 3% across the US. I chose the 12pc traditional wings since they were on special the day we visited with our client. I chose the mango habanero and the buffalo lemon pepper seasonings/sauces. I also added an unsweet tea to my meal. The rest of my group ordered the chicken sandwich or wrap, or the beef tips. The waitress indicated the salad bar (which includes a soup of the day) as a side during lunchtime does not incur an uncharge. My 2 colleagues that ordered the beef tips chose the salad bar and commented that it included a pretty robust amount of toppings like boiled eggs, pepperoni, ham and cottage cheese, among other items. Wings - these are very large wings. The lemon pepper dry seasoning wasn't very pronounced and the mango habanero wasn't very spicy but that's probably normal for Iowa. I figured that the Buffalo lemon pepper would have some sort of heat or spiciness since it has "buffalo" in the name, but it didn't. I was only able to finish 10 of them, barely. My colleagues were pretty happy with their steak tips and sandwiches, and one even loved the broasted potatoes. Service was okay, but I didn't get a refill on my iced tea.

I was trying to eat light, so I had the grilled chicken breasts with veggies. I must say it was nice and moist and a generous portion. We all got plenty to eat and left full, which is a positive. The highlight and everyone's favorite was the soft pretzel with beer cheese appetizer. This one was above average, very good. The service was a little subpar. We stopped in after normal dinnertime hours, around 8:30 p.m., so luckily it wasn't busy, because the bartender had to bartend AND wait on tables. So he was stretched too thin. In his defense, there was a private party upstairs, so the wait staff was sent upstairs to tend to the party. However, they should have had enough staff on hand to handle both the regular business in addition to the party. Being that it used to be a lumber business, I did think the building was really neat. Overall decent experience.

The order came out with fries but I was fine with it. As I took a bite into the burger, it was very cold and dry. Was Un eatable and gross. I took the bun off and touched the patty, it was drier than my ashy elbow. I brought it to the counter and said this is not eatable because it was very dry... That has just ruined my meal so I asked nicely to have it removed off my tab. They offered if I needed another burger made and I said no, please take it off my tab because we have to leave for the game. Mind me, I waited 45 minutes for the order. When I went up to pay for my tab, the manager refused to take the burger off the tab. She forced me to pay for the burger because I refused to order a different burger. She said she stand behind their food and if I don't like it, I can go somewhere else but still have to pay for the burger. The manager is a shorter young blond girl with bangs. She was very aggressive and rude. Started cursing and refusing to take the burger off the tab. She. Blamed her server for being slow and did not bring the food out on time. She also said it's not the bar or cooks fault.. TOTALLY BLAMED THE SERVER so that she doesn't have to change the tab... So I said find, hurry up and bring me another burger so I can feed my dog with it... She started cursing and called me a "CHINK" and told me don't come back!!! I still ended up paying for a burger that wasn't eatable and was discriminated against!!! All 3 of my friends that was there with me was vey mind blown over what that manager went through not to take a nasty burger off the tab!!! She started using RACIAL SLURS all because I refused to order another burger!!!

Everyone enjoyed their meals, including a burger, fish and chips, a chicken dish with bacon jam, and a couple of pasta dishes. Everything tasted fresh and was well prepared. The fries were good, the reviews with 3 stars are pretty spot on. I came in on a Wednesday night, the restaurant was reasonably busy, I asked for the Birria nachos, and a side of fries. The nachos were ironically dry, the cheese hardened in seconds to the construction paper under, there was no flavor which I tried to help with more cheese dip (didn't work). The server came over and asked how I was enjoying it, (I'd eaten less than 6 nachos at this point) I said "it's unappetizing, I can't eat this, I'm sorry, it's just not very good" She took the plate, but made me pay for a terrible dish. That was hardly eaten. I tried to make it appetizing in order to eat it and not waste it, but 2 chips from there I was done. I finished the fries and left hungry. You have A LOT OF INEXPERIENCED SERVICE PEOPLE HERE. I did not see a single adult in the restaurant. No one of age to run the staff, check on food, check on customers, run plates, or help with the over all atmosphere. This is why the customer service is suspect, they don't want to pay to have a competent adult running the place. It's "small town good" but not for anyone from somewhere with much better places available. (The prices were a tad high for the lack of ability to create worth while dishes.)
