In addition, they refunded the cost of my canoe. I appreciate the customer service! * This will be the last time I give any money to this business. After being a faithful customer for at least 10 years (probably much longer as we never went to the other business on the river) this visit was not worth the money I paid. We were given a broken paddle, that we did not realize was broken until the drop off location. Per their documentation they will charge you for a broken or missing paddle, so we opted to just take one and gave the other back to the driver as they didn't have an extra to give us. It wasn't so bad until very close to the exit and we did flip, loosing shoes and many other things. Flipping is a known hazard with one or two paddles, but my complaint is the customer service. In the past, there have always been staff ready to pull you in as you approach the exit. Not this time! This time, my son was waiting to pull us in as the staff meandered their way down the hill. One blonde gentlemen was reading something off his phone and literally never put it down until I said "can you put down the phone and help pull us in!" He was rude and told me to go back and get my one paddle out off the canoe (with his phone still in hand and me carrying bags and without shoes because they washed down the river). One very helpful staff member said he would grab it for me and he did. When I returned to get my deposit back, they didn't offer any type of compensation for the ONE paddle and really didn't seem to care about their staff and the poor service (again, one out of 3 or 4 staff was very helpful and extremely polite).

Clifton Gorge State Nature Preserve is my first state park I have visited in Ohio, and it did not…read moredisappoint. I'm not a hiker, but I found the trail to be a somewhat easy hike for a senior and the walkways and guardrails were well-maintained. There are lots of benches to sit on to take in nature, darling native plants, and plenty of interesting facts to read about along the trail. We saw photos and explanations of how the Little Miami River was used to power grist and cotton mills, paper factories, and breweries. In the information building, we were greeted by the very friendly ranger, who gave us a botanical identification brochure (it would have been very useful during the hike) and introduced us to the turtles in their enclosure. The preserve was quiet, and we enjoyed ourselves so much. This is just the start of our adventure of the Clifton Gorge, and there are so many more activities to explore. We hope to be back during another season when the water in the gorge is flowing more rapidly.

You can book your reservations online however we decided to pay up at the desk due to the weather. Didn't know if it was going to rain but it turned out to be a gorgeous day. First it is required to sign a waiver then you check in. There are several options. You can choose between the 2,3,6 or 8.5 mile trek. You can rent tandem kayak, single kayak or canoe. We opted for the tandem kayak $86.00 for the both of us and we did the 6 mile round trip. You pick your life jacket, wait for your name to be called out and you take a bus. From there they will drop you off depending on what mile marker you chose. The staff makes sure to explain where to not go and when you have to be back. Make sure you are back by 7:00 pm. Once you get to the river you pick your paddle and kayak/canoe and off you go. You may hit some rough shallow spots but for the most part, it was smooth sailing. Make sure to pack a small cooler for your drinks. Stay hydrated. We also kayaked to Little Miami Brewing and had a couple of libations. That was fun! Overall the whole experience was great and I had a blast. Coming back the staff was super friendly, helpful and laid back. I would definitely come back. This place rocks.

Whoever figured this out was a genius...because it is a Godsend. Overall, a very enjoyable trip. The kayaks, though, are a molded sit on and the back rest does get a little uncomfortable...especially for an old dude. The Friday evening Burgers and Brews tour was a perfect blend of fun and safety, thanks to the competent guide, Norman, who shared his extensive knowledge of the wildlife and history of the Little Miami river. Thanks to Loveland paddle sports, our daughter's 21st Birthday became a fun and memorable day. We knew that we could not bring alcohol on the kayak trip due to Ohio law and the companies guidelines. Loveland Paddle sports seems to be a very Safety oriented and family friendly business so we respected that. But we were fine with that and celebrated with her afterwards during the brew and burger part of the trip with her first legal drink and a birthday song from the entire crew and fellow kayakers. We highly recommend Norman and his team for a seamless and enjoyable kayaking experience. They have the friendliest customer service team. We will be back!!!
