After I relocated from Fountain, Colorado right outside of Colorado Springs, there were a few…read morebusinesses that stuck in my head and one in particular that stayed in my heart, Rivon Gas station. The owner of this particular gas station is one of the most honest truly genuine individuals I have ever met. With my job being 25-30 minutes away and driving an SUV, gas is surely pricy in this decade. In addition to the sometimes added stress of gas, being a single mother of very active children and working a sometimes very stressful job also took its toll some days. Rivon Gas is where I began to go as not only was the gas cheaper but the owner remembered my face from day one and would always ask me if I'm okay, ask about my children etc....and would offer to help in anyway he could sometimes when he saw I was down. I saw many people go in and out of the Gas Station just to say hello to the owner so you know customer service was always at its best. I hope that when I do travel back to Fountain, Colorado Rivon Gas is still standing so I cannot only fill up at a cheaper price but say hello and thank him for being a true example of great customer service and humility.

There was a deal, 2 for $2.25 Aluminum beer cans. We went to the cashier to checkout and I handed over my drivers license from Missouri. She then said she cannot accept my ID because it says "Not for Real ID purposes" even though this drivers license is valid. The REAL ID Program was implemented in 2019 for Missouri and Illinois residents. It's a new form of ID you are required to get before 2023 to be able to fly out of state. However, Anyone can still use "NON-REAL IDS" as a valid drivers license in the state of Missouri. Even if the ID says "Not for real ID purposes". Regardless, I've used my ID in multiple locations already in Colorado Springs. For a gas station right in the middle of a tourist city not to know about these rules is ridiculous, especially when I can use my ID right down the street from this location and have no problem at all.
