The setup is straightforward cafeteria-style dining: grab your items, head to the register, and check out. The process is efficient, even if the customer service wasn't exactly as inspiring as the scenery outside. On the positive side, there is plenty of seating, and it's hard to complain when you're eating at the top of the world. I was also pleased to see full-time EMS staff on site. Given the altitude and remote location, it's reassuring to know medical assistance is readily available if needed. Overall, I highly recommend making the drive up Pikes Peak. The journey and views are absolutely worth the trip. Stop in for a beverage and maybe a breakfast burrito if you're hungry. Just be warned: if those donuts look familiar, they may have seen the summit sunrise yesterday.
