I must start by saying if you want all the options possible....COME EARLY... the staff is super friendly. Be mindful at this time they only accept cash, CashApp and ApplePay. The vibe is relaxed and down home vibe. I came with my little broke best friend A.K.A my daughter she ordered the fried fish and got the double Mac n cheese as they were out of fries, I got me and the son fried chicken wings Mac n cheese and beans on his and potato salad on mine as they were out of all vegetable options. Disappointed I was to say the least as I had my mouth all set for so good string beans or greens. But no go. But it's all good I'll be back and I will come early so I can sample eeeeerythang. Nothing disappointed me or my little broke best friend. She wore that fish out and hit them wangs wit some hot sauce baaaaaby hit every spot from the esophagus to the stomach lining. Slide through if you ever find yourself over I. The Western Branch area. It's worth the ride. I came from Oceanview area.

    Baked turkey wings

PLEASE don't eat here. My food was bland, salty and some parts were store brought. I ordered 3 entrees, turkey wing dinner, fried shrimp dinner and fried chicken wing dinner. They all were a flop! The turkey wings was the most disappointing. They were pale in color, no gravy( like the picture showed) lack flavor and my sides were the same. I had to put some of my food in the air fryer to get color. Please save your money.

It gave me the community all came together on one accord to make something happen with a for the people by the people vibe. There are 3 restaurants and a juice bar so no matter what you're in the mood for they go you covered. While I waited on my food I slid to the back to grab a birthday drink where the bartender Doc filled me in on the happenings. So every night. Starting with Tuesdays is Karaoke, Thursdays- Line Dancing, Friday night is Soca night, Saturday-Hip Hop and R&B. I was in there on a Monday which happened to be my birthday had my birthday shot and the music was on point. They have a hookah lounge and over sized and regular sized games so you can sing along and have fun. The restaurant I chose was the Original Soulfood. I order the Fried shrimp dinner with Stringbeans, Mac n cheese for my sides and got a side of yams for my son. Overall the food was great just a bit too much salt in the string beans but other than that all I was missing was the red kool-aid. A definite stop on the list if you looking for something tasty no matter what your tastebuds are asking for they got you covered

Lol Ordered the Lit Back special... with the chicken wings, fried shrimp, and brisket. Collard greens and mac & cheese for my sides, comes with cornbread too. Had the cookie monster dessert also, but i devoured it before could take a pic. It's like that! Wings - seasoned well, fried golden brown, crispy & juicy Shrimp - plump & good sized, seasoned well, fried perfectly Beef brisket - tender & juicy, that blueberry bbq sauce Collards - like somebody's grandma's, fork tender, can taste the vinegar, crush red pepper and smoked turkey meat Mac & cheese - very good, can taste the real cheese Cornbread - kissed with honey, soft and pillowy, & lowkey the star of whole show

You can tell they were trying to upsell .. asking if you wanted lemonade or peach cobbler in addition to your meal. Can't knock the hustle i guess. Anyway i enjoyed my meal just wish it was a bit less fat with the brisket.

Appetizer: Try the biscuits with the sweet potato spread! Total quantity of 2. Dinner: Ended up with the catfish / whiting. Most comfort food probably has a lot of salt attached to it and not an everyday cuisine. Nevertheless, it was still good! The service was good as well. No complaints or attitudes from the server. It wasn't as busy as previous people reported which was nice. Enjoyed the art on the wall with the music vibe. Would repeat again with the other new restaurants located near the oceanfront. Best to always make a reservation with parking not directly in front of the restaurant but not too far of a walk. Overall 8.9/10

Service was fast, friendly, and very attentive to our table throughout the visit. I ordered the chicken and biscoff waffles and listen... that biscoff cookie butter infused waffle was AMAZING!! Sweet, flavorful, and honestly the star of the plate. I would absolutely order the waffle again. The chicken drumettes, however, were a little bland and lacked seasoning for me personally. Once I added hot sauce, honey, salt, and pepper, it brought the chicken to life and tasted much better. My daughter ordered the smothered chicken and biscuits, butter biscuits topped with cheesy eggs, fried chicken, and cajun cream sauce. The picture below may not look the most appetizing, but don't let that fool you because this dish was packed with flavor! The only downside was the eggs were a bit overcooked. My daughter is picky about eggs, so next time she said she'll ask for them lightly scrambled or over medium. Now let's talk about the drinks lol. I love a good hot cup of coffee and they did NOT miss with the coffee. Smooth, hot, and flavorful. My daughter also said the sweet tea was really good. Overall, I'd definitely come back, especially for that Biscoff waffle alone!

However, the food took longer to arrive than I have experienced at other venues. While I am generally patient, the extended wait began to cause some frustration. When the food finally arrived, I was somewhat disappointed, as several dishes, such as the macaroni and cheese and green beans, were overly seasoned. My mother found the macaroni and cheese to be okay , but I found it excessively salty. Overall, I would rate the food a 5 out of 10. After some time, we were ready for our check, but our server was unavailable and took an extended period to return, even to check on how we were doing or to bring the bill. She did check on us after the food arrived, but during the wait, my mother and I grew increasingly annoyed and were ready to leave. Instead, we continued to wait. I later realized that she may have been assisting another group with a large event, which I understand is not her fault but likely a decision made by management. Ideally, she should not have been attending to multiple tables simultaneously, especially during a busy period involving a large party. As a result of the service experience, I did not feel inclined to leave a tip. We were aware that increased patience might have been necessary due to the larger party being served. Based on this experience, I do not plan to return to this establishment.

We were surprised by how large the restaurant is. There is plenty of seating. The waitress came and brought us menus. Since it was holy hour I tried 5of the fried shrimp for a starter. I lap got a bahama mama and my friend got a tropical margarita. The shrimp were big and full of flavor, a little on the salty side but the cocktail sauce balanced them out For entrees I got the fried pork chops menu friend got turkey wings. We both got rice & gravy and collards for our sides. While we waited for our food there was a DJ playing music that kept the vibe going. Even with the amount of people it did not take a really long time for our food to come. I hadn't had fried pork chops in a while and they were really good. Crunchy but not too crunchy. The rice and gravy was pretty good and the collards weren't bad, a little overcooked for my liking. The cornbread was light and super sweet. It went well with the collards. Defiantly a great place for good food and good music on a Friday!!
