Carroll Pump & Well Service

Carroll Pump & Well Service

(5 reviews)

This review is for service performed by Carroll Pump and Well Service on May 31, 2016…read more I called Carroll Pump and Well Service on Thursday, May 26th to request non urgent service on our pump and well. Mr. Carroll asked if the middle of the next week would be soon enough. I was in no hurry at all and we agreed that he would call when he got an opening, probably the middle of the next week. He called Tuesday, May 31st after a Monday holiday. We agreed that he would come on over. Joel Carroll and his helper Chris arrived in about a half an hour. They went right to work diagnosing our problem, keeping me informed along the way. A very high current requirement indicated a stuck pump. Joel gave me firm prices for up to 300 feet and beyond 300 feet of well depth. He also told me there would be an extra per foot charge for any wire which needed replacing. I was pleased with the price and asked them to fix it. They left to get a pump and the needed truck. About 45 minutes later they returned with everything they needed to do the job. They pulled the 300 feet of pipe out of the well and separated it into 40 feet sections laid out on the ground. They installed new pipe connectors and spacers before putting the pipe and new pump in the well. By 2:30pm we had water gushing from the well. Surprisingly, at least to me, it took no replacement wire. After they had water running at the house they found and repaired a leak in the house plumbing. They also replaced the filter. They also suggested that since the well had been sitting for a while it be chlorinated which they did. When it came time to pay I expected the pump price we agreed on, plus leak repair, plus filter, plus chlorination. It was not. It was all included in the original pump price. Outstanding! Joel and Chris were knowledgeable, friendly professionals who did a great job in a timely manner at a reasonable price. I will call them the next time I need well work and recommend them.

Robinson Well Company

Hiring Robinson Well Company was one of the biggest mistakes I've ever made. From start to finish,…read morethe experience was completely unprofessional, disorganized, and frustrating. They told me the well installation would only take one day. It ended up dragging on for a week and a half. Their truck sat stuck in my yard for a few days. They conveyed to me it was a million dollar truck (that's not my problem). I had to chase them for updates daily. They never proactively communicated anything. Every time I called, they'd promise to call me back -- and never did. The lack of respect for my time was beyond frustrating. Melissa, who handles customer service, made the experience even worse. I called several times and it sounded like she was working from her living room with kids screaming in the background -- totally unprofessional and unacceptable when dealing with a major, expensive project. They never clearly explained the process or what to expect. The estimate started at $15,000. I didn't find out it was going to cost over $30,000 until I was already halfway through the project -- leaving me no real choice but to continue or be stuck with them. It felt like I was being held hostage. Fortunately, halfway through I was able to bring in another company to finish the job and save some money. But this whole ordeal was stressful, costly, and completely avoidable if I had chosen a better contractor. Customers BEWARE. Robinson Well Company lacks professionalism, transparency, and basic customer care. I would never recommend them. Save yourself the headache and look elsewhere. 1

Gradually aging equipment and Georgia lightning storms have inevitably caused occasional problems, and every time, they have come out quickly and figured out the solution. I spoke to Mr. Greene in April, and everything seemed efficient at that time. However, he failed to inform me that he sold the company two years ago and wouldn't be working on our well. It was actually another company even though he still works there and they are using both businesses' names (DJ Pumps is the other). That was mid-April when the contract was signed. They didn't come to our property until late June, without warning or communication. The crew that came did nothing but complain about how low Mr. Greene's bid was. Our neighbors' wells average 50 feet deep, but they insisted on drilling until 190 feet, admitting they would get a bonus the further they drilled, also knowing that would raise the consumer price. After a week on our property working very short days and not drilling properly, they gave up and said another crew with a larger drill would have to come out. In all honestly, they didn't know what they were doing and couldn't keep the proper viscosity for the well. There was over a month with not one word from them. I tried multiple times to communicate, but they refused. When they finally came back, they refused to run PVC casing, which would have again met the smaller bid. They never attempted, never communicated, and continued to run the bill up nearly twice the amount that it was guaranteed. Then, after drilling, it took them another 2 weeks before placing the pump. It took well over 6 MONTHS to get the well! I have a doctorate in business and have tried to explain to them how unprofessional they have been, but they refuse to listen and still refuse to communicate professionally and properly. So, I want to ensure others are aware. They pulled the same stunt on one of our neighbors, and if I had known the original business had sold, we would have NEVER chosen this company.
