B. Lin is my top choice for catering lunches at my work! We are an all-vegetarian office and the tea has been so responsive in creating alternatives to make a vegetarian lunch as delicious as possible. Their Specialty Bars are my go-to -- for a set, affordable price, they provide so many delicious, fresh toppings and sauces to go with the food that everyone is able to customize a plate to their liking. Always a big hit. read more

B Lin catered our wedding this past October and they were wonderful to work with. From the tasting (which blew us away), to all of the menu revisions (I was indecisive, sorry), to picking out the linens and silverware (sooo many options), to the rehearsal and the day of - everything was 5 stars all around. We worked with Arin Noble and I WISH that every vendor we worked with was a responsive, organized, and detailed-oriented as she was. She made the whole process SO much easier, taking notes on our suggested tweaks to the menu and our brainstormed ideas for floor plans and the details of our decorations. In my opinion, one of the most stressful aspects of wedding plan is really just the constant communication with the vendors - Arin made it all a breeze and I never worried about our catering. On the day of, the B Lin team set up our tables exactly as we planned and everyone on the B Lin catering team was extremely professional - everyone I interacted with was warm, pleasant, and they kept the food and drinks going! A number of guests told us that they loved the hors d'oeuvres. We also had a korean taco bar, an asian noodle bar, and a skewers station. We really enjoyed the DIY concept and buffet style as it helped to cater to all of the unique food preferences and appetite sizes. The food was seriously amazing and we had almost nothing left over once the wedding was over. I'd highly recommend B Lin Catering to any and everyone! read more

I learned about B. Lin Catering back in the Spring when I attended a small event in the neighborhood. When it came time host my future sister-in-law's bridal shower, I reached out to see if they would be willing to help with a smaller event, which I know is not always worth it to catering groups. From the beginning, Kristina and the team have been amazing to work with; responsive, flexible, and even willing to deliver out to Ellicott city. I ordered 3 appetizers (tomato & mozz skewers, butternut squash wontons, vegan spring rolls), and they even provided the coffee for my iced coffee bar. Everything arrived perfectly, with all sauces/toppings nearly labeled. We decided up front to do our own plating, so having everything so well organized made our jobs a lot easier. I received multiple compliments about the food from guests! read more

The staff are so friendly and incredibly helpful. The time for my event changed the night before and B.Lin was flexible and moved up the delivery time. I will definitely be using them again. read more

STOP YOUR SEARCH. I cannot recommend B.Lin enough - if there were 10 stars, I would give them 10. Look no further, book B.Lin immediately while you still can. If you are getting married in the DC area and want a stress-free but oh-so-luxurious catering experience, you MUST MUST MUST use B.Lin. They are SO amazing to work with and I am absolutely looking for reasons to work with them again, business or otherwise! Arin is AMAZING at her job - incredibly responsive, detail-oriented, and knowledgeable. They went above and beyond with us, as we both have dairy allergies, to make sure that we had a menu that met those needs but was also 100% tasty. We got to pick and choose the exact things we wanted to eat on our special day and were so excited to share with our friends and family after the tasting, which was DELICIOUS. Our menu covered everyone on our guest list, from vegans to dairy-free to wheat intolerance. We had several passed apps then did 3 serving stations - it worked out perfectly!! The B.Lin staff was so professional, helpful, and A+++ - our guests RAVED about the food and all the staff. Months later, our friends and family are STILL talking about how this was the best wedding they have ever been to. Food is everything!! There is not one thing I would change about the menu we chose, everything was delicious. Sorry for the multiple all caps exclamations above, but B.Lin was literally THAT GOOD. I would attach pictures of our food, but unfortunately I don't have any. Everyone was too busy eating and trying to make it to all our stations to take pictures (sign of a good meal!). read more

We had a cocktail party this past weekend and based on Yelp reviews alone I called B.Lin. They promptly emailed me back and were very responsive to my every question. Kristina made an initial suggestion of appetizers and i supplemented with a few. The day of the party they showed up a bit early and were very professional. Barbara and her crew were friendly, energetic and eager to make the party a success. At the end of the night the house was clean and the hubby and I only had to give each other a high five for hiring a great caterer rather than cleaning up the house. During the party I never once worried about anything. I am a chronic worrier so this speaks volumes to their abilities. I should review the food in addition to the service. It was all beautifully prepared and displayed. Guests raved during the party about the food. Specifically the bacon wrapped figs, crab cakes and the bulgogi beef. The bahn mi sliders were delicious as well. The charcuterie spread was on a lovely piece of wood and beautifully displayed. We also had the Mediterranean dips which made for great snacks later in the week. Three cheers for B.Lin! You already have my vote for our next party. read more

We hired B. Lin to cater my parent's 50th wedding anniversary. The entire experience was seamless and incredibly well done. Couple specific highlights: - For a party of 30, I found the pricing reasonable and market based - The menu was delicious. For under $2,000 we were able to get a team of 3 including a bartender, passed hors d'ouvres, and a delicious Middle Eastern buffet - Food was great. People kept going back for seconds and I think people were surprised at how delicious it was. - Service was outstanding. Everyone was friendly and Shira did a great job as the project manager and team lead. - They came and went without us needing to do anything. They left the place spotless after doing a great job running the party. - The bartender Sergio made one of the best Moscow Mules I've had in a long time. Overall, recommend them strongly. Great experience and really enjoyed working with them. read more

B.Lin did a wonderful job preparing the food for our party. Both the Asian bar and the Mediterranean bar were well appointed and delicious. The signs they included for each dish made it easy for our guests with dietary restrictions to have a fantastic meal. Thank you for ensuring our graduation party was a success! read more

We used this catering company for our backyard wedding in June and EVERYONE raved about the food. We had a small reception (only 20) but every single person wanted to learn where the food was from. Even our photographers asked about it, so they could recommend and also use! We got buffet style and it was definitely MORE than enough for 20 people, probs gave us enough for like 30! We got the Cajun menu and a few additional items for my vegan in-laws ;) Did not disappoint def a must have! read more

B Lin has catered two events for us: a family event last summer and our daughter's wedding this spring. Their food is delicious and takes standards such as chicken and elevates them to something special. They were a pleasure to deal with for both events and provided outstanding advice, planning, food and service for a great price. We especially loved the crab cakes appetizers, the butternut squash wontons, the chicken sate skewers, for entrees, the ginger salmon, mushroom risotto, italian herb chicken, chicken souvlaki, and pork medallions. We also served cheeseburger and chicken sliders for late night snacks at wedding and they were a huge hit! We will use them again and highly recommend them!! read more

I've had the pleasure of attending several of Ben's underground supper club dinners and sampling much of his corporate lunch menus (perks of being engaged to someone who gets their lunch catered by B. Lin Catering almost every day!) I have never been disappointed by his creations! He is fantastic at pairing flavors and everything that I have tasted has true depth! You can sign up for the supper clubs using a Google reservation link once you've been added to the mailing list (sign up on his website). The supper clubs are 5-course tasting menus served in a chill atmosphere in his own private venue. Ben makes you feel at home and he has a really warm and welcoming personality. Everyone sits on one long table together and it's BYOB. What I love is that Ben also personally introduces all of the courses so you get a sense of the thought and process behind the cooking. It's a fantastic option for a date night! Overall, it's a great night out anytime and every time I get that email in my inbox telling me about the next supper club, my tastebuds start salivating from the menu and I immediately RSVP. So, if you want to check out his cooking, definitely RSVP quick! Menu highlights from the supper clubs that I have attended: - Sake buttermilk wings with Japanese seven-spice dry rub, served with mushrooms and edamame risotto - probably the most delicious wings I have ever tasted in my life. Crispy, juicy, sweet, spiced (not too spicy), and uber-flavorful. My only complaint was that there was only one. But, I guess when you have to leave room for 5 courses, you have to make the portions smaller. - Yuca Puree - it was like mashed potatoes but better. Like sweet, smooth mashed potatoes raised to the next level. - Asian Slaw with Peanut Sriracha Dressing - I'm not sure what's in the dressing but it's addictive. This slaw is amazing--finely chopped cabbages, carrots, onions, etc tossed in a nutty, sweet, spicy sauce. I have also tasted Ben's corporate lunches (second-hand) from my fiance's leftovers and even day-old, they are delicious. Some of my favorites are his spicy gumbo and korean tacos! Seriously, his spicy gumbo is the shhhhhizznits--it's got so much depth of flavor. Also, the jerk chicken is ah-mazing--moist, tender, and well-seasoned. Ben is an EXPERT at marinating proteins and getting them to their perfect tenderness and flavor. I have been super impressed by all of Ben's dishes. The only thing I think he needs to improve on is his dessert. His orange habanero cinnamon flan was amazing at the second supper club I went to. But, at the first supper club, he served a take on strawberry shortcake that needed just a little something extra to pull it all together. I hear he's working on his desserts though, so i"m excited to see what he's cooking up next! read more

DC folks..if you are looking for an alternative for dinner and are getting tired of the usual spots in A-M, Dupont, Logan or Shaw/U Street...well supper clubs are still worth the hype and definitely a nice change of pace from the norm! We first experienced B. Lin Catering as a yelp* event last year (thanks Kim!) and it was one the most most memorable foodie events we had in 2015. They announced their supper clubs to start of 2016 and we took advantage of signing up for the very first night. We met some awesome new folks at the table we sat at and the 5 courses we had with a pan-Asian/Latin fusion twist to it were fantastic. Pairings were also done, and initially I thought it was going to be wine pairings but turned out it would be cocktails! The cocktails did pair well with the food but boy one or two of them were strong and I'm sure by the end of the evening, everyone was a bit more relaxed and buzzed. Sadly, I'm getting old and so definitely this meal and the cocktail pairings capped off my Friday night! Considering they are a catering company, their menu is ever evolving and changes with the season so definitely check out one of their supper clubs this year! It definitely isn't just about the food but the whole experience. Cheers! read more

Ben is truly one of the most talented and under rated chefs in DC and I'm hesitating to write this review because i don't want too many people to find out about him and make it harder than it already is to get reservations to his supper clubs and pop ups. Ben is a jack of all trades when it comes to food which doesn't work for most chefs , but works swimmingly for him. He has a deep understanding of multicultural cuisines and excels with both fusion and traditional options. Ben and his team can take on just about anything from a corporate lunch to a wedding in terms of catering and his supper clubs are must for anyone who is looking for a delicious and unique dining experience. I've had him cater numerous events for me and have attended 3 of his supper clubs and have never had a problem or been disappointed. If you're looking for top notch notch food, quality service, and all around pleasant people, then ordering from B.Lin Catering is really a no brainer read more

We eat with our eyes first and truly that is where the feasting begins with B.Lin Catering. At the three different supper clubs I've been to, the food was arranged gorgeously (instagram-worthy) but even then, the aesthetics are only the beginning... One can taste the care and passion that goes into the food. I've never had a dish that was uninspired or plain. B.Lin's food tantalizes the palette with such clever wit and character. It is as though the food puts forth a personality of its own--one that desires to impress and to satisfy--and succeeds. Even beyond the food, the B.Lin team has consistently provided excellent service. The delightful chemistry within the B.Lin team is akin to that of a rowdy but loving family. I look forward to working with them all to cater my upcoming wedding. My guests deserve no less than the best, and with B.Lin there is no doubt that the food will be an absolute hit! read more

We had a terrific time working with B.Lin Catering and were so happy with how our wedding turned out. Guests really enjoyed our buffet bars (Mediterranean bar and Slider bar) and the butternut squash wontons were a fabulous hit. We worked with both Arin and Vanessa, who were calm, cool and collected. They are a small company, so approach their clients and events with heart. We've been trying to offer them constructive feedback about things to improve, but it's hard to have anything really stand-out. The food, the service, the attentiveness. You will be very happy with your wedding if you select B.Lin! read more

I went with B.Lin for my wedding and they were INCREDIBLE. They were super flexible and worked with us and our budget, the food was absolutely delicious, and Arin was so helpful and responsive. They even worked with us on specific food requests, our friends dietary restrictions, everything. Such a fantastic caterer!!!! read more

Thank you so much for catering my retirement ceremony. I worked with Gus primarily and it was a real pleasure to work with him. He answered all my questions and made invaluable suggestions on portions sizes and mix of heavy hors d'oeuvres that would be best suited for my event. He happened also to be the one who did the delivery and set-up. This morning, after the ceremony, we all made our way to the reception and the first thing that hit me was how good everything smelled! We had the fried chicken bites (buttermilk and Korean), pork belly bahn mi sliders, beef crostini, veggie lumpia, cubano sliders, empanadas, cheese platter, veggie platter and fruit platter. There were sauces accompanying several of the dishes. His set up was perfect, to include name tents that gave descriptions of each dish. It was a beautiful touch. We also decided to ask B. Lin to supply the chaffing sets, which came with serving utensils. It was worth it to go that route. Gus was planned ahead to ensure the deliver would be on time. Since our event was on a military base, he had to allocate additional time to get through base security. He definitely bent over backwards to make sure everything went perfectly. The food was INCREDIBLE! My first bite was the beef crostini. So good! I had several pieces of everything and, though the event was yesterday morning, I'm still thinking about the food. Lol. You have to know that, not only did the food taste awesome but it looked beautiful, too. That beef crostini was topped with horseradish sauce and the smallest matchsticks of radish I ever saw. Thank you for your attention to detail and for making my day so wonderful and worry free. I will be coming back to you to cater any event I have in the future. My guests were also extremely pleased with all your hard work and the incredible food. Many of them asked about you. My only suggestion is to leave a stack of business cards (if you did leave some, maybe they were all taken and that's why I started getting inquiries. In that case, ignore this last comment.) Thank you, thank you, thank you to the staff, Chef, kitchen staff and company! read more

If you're reading this review in considering a B.Lin catered wedding/event or for a supper club: I'm about to make this decision easy for you. YES, just do it. Do it, and do it now! Your only regret will be not discovering them sooner or if tickets sell out before you get there, and now I regret telling everyone about it! Our wedding coordinator first introduced us to B.Lin. We wanted a caterer that would be: * unique but polished for a crowd of 140, * could offer delicious and interesting dishes with an international spin that would still be approachable to our less adventurous guests, and * didn't bust our not-so-D.C. budget in this city known for being $$$. Arin has been fantastic to work with and has coordinated all the rentals our event venue needs. Our wedding catering tasting left us beyond excited about the menu (which includes butternut squash wontons, Cuban sliders, NY strip, a mild but flavorful take on Indian curry, and home-cured salmon). Supper club: we attended the March 2016 iteration of the supper club, which was an insanely delicious Puerto Rican/Chinese fusion menu with a slew of impeccably paired cocktails. The five courses were more medium- than small-plate sized and the five cocktails ranged from full-sized to double-shot/mini. The $70 is a steal; it's not a meal or experience you will soon forget! The company - other pairs of friends and couples we did not previously know - was fantastic and I wish they hosted these every weekend. I'd make it a monthly thing. So: go, attend, eat, book them for your special day. There is only life before B.Lin and life after B.Lin. Talented and awesome people! read more

I hired b.Lin for my wedding and couldn't have had a better experience. My husband and I decided to go the untraditional route and opted for a breakfast buffet for dinner. It was absolutely delicious. The setup was beautiful, the staff attentive and friendly and they even wrapped up the leftovers for my mother to take home to serve at the brunch the next morning. The leftovers were just as delicious! We worked with Krista and she was amazing. She walked me through the process of choosing the menu, rentals, dinnerware and when we ran into what could have been a major issue with the venue, she calmed my nerves and handled the situation. I would highly recommend going with them for any event! read more

Ben and Arin of B.Lin are absolutely the best you can get. We used their catering services for our wedding this month and the food was spectacular. 100% recommend! Katie at B.Lin Catering was responsive and very helpful for planning the catering for our event. Their menu has TONS of options. We couldn't narrow it down to less than 3 of the signature bars because everything sounded amazing. Day of pick up went so smoothly and the food was delicious! The food packing was great, different containers were used to separate each dish and B.Lin provided serving utensils and labels for each item so set up and serving was a breeze. We'll definitely work with them again. read more

I recently went to one of BLin's intimate dinner gatherings and it was top notch. The quality of the food, the preparation, and the hospitality were all terrific. I went for a Japanese menu and it did not disappoint. Chefs Ben and Johnny did a great job. The timing of the courses was something I really appreciated. There were no lags between courses and it didn't feel rushed. It seemed like a well-oiled machine which isn't easy given the venue and uncertainty. I will definitely attend again and suggest you do the same! read more

I used B.Lin Catering since I was hosting a large baby shower and would highly recommend using them. The cost was very affordable and their menu allows for a variety of international cuisines and interesting options. More than that, the team was amazing including Katie who promptly responded to emails and multiple change requests as well as Parker, who delivered the food as scheduled and made sure to explain each item, the dressings included, and provided serving utensils, food tent cards, etc. It's a professional catering group that really has thought through everything you'd need. I have used B.Lin to cater staff lunches, company events, and, most recently, a large charity event of 200+ people. These events were diverse in food selection, to say the least. Our food choices with B. Lin have ranged from mashed potato bars, to breakfast buffets, to large selection of finger foods, and I have nothing but wonderful things to say about them at every event from start to end. They are extremely helpful and accommodating throughout the planning process, and come event day, the service and set-up is stellar. The presentation of the food is incredible, and the food itself simply could not be better. The most common feedback I got from the guests of the large charity event was that the food was to die for. I will continue to use B.Lin for all events, large and small, because they are simply the best in the business. read more

Wow. We just used B. Lin for a 500-person event at Dock 5 and they were remarkable. From the initial planning of the event to the last piece of equipment was loaded up, they were professional, responsive, and flexible. The on-site staff was friendly and fun to work with. When you are running a big event with several vendors, it is nice to know that you can rely on your caterer to keep everything flowing smoothly. Last night was my first experience with B.Lin Catering, through their local supper club. Being a small town girl in a big city, I love the idea of a home-cooked meal, in an intimate setting, with a bunch of people who quickly become your friends. Often this experience is rare in a trendy city with overpriced food and rushed service. But the minute the door opened to enter the house for the B.Lin Supper Club, was the minute I felt warmly welcomed and relaxed. We were greeted by a friendly young woman who took our names and ushered us into a cool dining room (summer), filled with smiling chatting people who in turned greeted us as we walked in. Low lighting and candles added to the ambiance. Taking a seat, we entered into easy conversation with the people sitting next to us, and began to pour some wine. One of the great parts of the evening was sitting nearby to the friendly chefs, who were busy preparing our 5 course dinner. After announcing the menu, and explaining the seasonal ingredients, they warmly welcomed people to come up at their leisure and say "Hi," in order to get a closer look at what they were preparing. Having felt like the night was already a success, we were about to be blown away by the food! Oh.My.Goodness. B.Lin's newest chef, Rich Viernes' cooking is artistry. The aromas coming out of the kitchen were so amazing that it was hard to pay attention to the conversations at the table; the presentation of the food was beautiful (one course even came with seasonal edible flowers!); and the freshness and flavor of the food was incredible. At the end of the meal, we all looked at each other and shared a contented smile. Success. My advice to other Yelp-ers: If you get the chance to share in this experience; take it. read more

We were in the market for a caterer for a party we planned to throw. We selected B.Lin because of Kristina Garcia's responsiveness and overall price and value. Kristina was very good, very thorough and listened to everything we asked for and worked with us on all aspects of our party. The food was amazing both at the tasting we signed up for AND on the night of the party. People didn't stop commenting on how great everything tasted, and the leftovers were just as good. There was one minor thing (which really wasn't even a 'thing' because I was there to take care of it), is neither the venue nor the catering staff had a copy of the staging plan I had sent to both. Like I said, minor, and my husband and I staged the whole place ourselves anyway. It was a great party and I am thrilled we chose B.Lin Catering for our event. For our wedding with 150 guests in Washington DC, we researched over a dozen catering services. From the very start, B.Lin stood out from the rest as the best option. She was eager to work with us to make the reception exactly how we wanted and always was very responsive to our requests and clearly made extra efforts to help us leading up to the event. Awesome catering! I ordered for an office holiday party, and could not have had a better experience. We were actually fighting over leftovers! Delivery came right on time and was set up quickly, which was hugely appreciated! Working with Arin in particular was a pleasure - she is so responsive and helpful, and made many good suggestions/accommodations. I would not hesitate to recommend B. Ben served us a Vietnamese dinner for a private corporate event. Having hosted a few dinners myself I can appreciate how hard it is to keep everything coming in a time where everything stays at the perfect temperature. Ben shows talent and thinks through the menu to ensure each dish comes only when it's ready. I had to steal (ask) for his recipes after the meal since I'm not able to enjoy his events on the West coast. Everyone was clamoring for more garlic rice as it just hit those savoring notes. Okay, I'm making myself really hungry now. Ask for that rice and Vietnamese chicken from Ben for your last meal! read more

This is a review for the Supper Club. I just attended the "All-Things-Smoked" dinner and it was delightful. From the quaint house, to the food, to the chef and staff-- everything was lovely. For the price, it was a great deal! And I say this because we got 5 quality courses and brought our own booze! It really seemed like Ben and his team put a lot of thought into each course-- each unique and gosh darn good! Like others have said, the timing between courses was spot on. Our group spent nearly 3 hours there and time flew by. There was no rush and Ben was a very charming chef. If you're on the fence about attending one of these suppers, don't hesitate and sign up now! There was also plenty of parking in the neighborhood. read more
