The day before my move, I was told the cost would actually be over $1,100 due to a "call center mistake." I had no time to find another mover, so I was stuck paying nearly double. The franchise manager and owner both admitted the quoting issue was the call center's mistake and that there has been multiple issues with the call center company, but the best they offered was a small discount -- still well above what I was originally told. I understand labor isn't free, but it's unfair to place the burden of your internal errors on the customer. I won't be using this company again and would caution others to get all quotes in writing before booking. The movers were great, I would hire them ten times over however I would never conduct buisness with this company again after that initial experience.

I had a window on a Saturday morning from 10:30am-12:30pm. Around 10am, I received a call stating that they were on their way and would arrive around 10:40am. They pulled around the back of my house and within 5 minutes were able to through the patio furniture over the deck and were done. They were friendly and professional. I drove the U-Haul there to find 1 man Arthur and no other guy! He worked me in 105 degrees til I was sick. He dumped my totes over and ripped bags and was a bull in a china cabinet! He was so nasty and bc I was loading downstairs I did not see my unit until it was packed and I saw that he threw my things in there and couldn't get the door down I said if you cant get the door closed how am I going to get it open??!! He says what do you want me to do miss?? He was HORRIBLE!! I don't know if my TV is ruined or my mom's keyboard. I told him what he did was unacceptable and he said he would bring a ladder the next day and repack it and to answer ASAP?! I said no! He never apologized nor offered a refund!! In early March 2019, at the suggestion of my Realtor, I was tasked to remove additional furniture and personal items from my home in Chesapeake Beach to prepare to place my house on the sales market. After asking the manager of the local storage facility if she knew of any movers she referred me to Mr. Short and his company. (I have lived in Ches Bch for over 30 years and still have issues finding reliable and reasonably priced services in my area. The more rural the landscape the more I understand why a pick up truck and physically strong friends are necessary here. Need connections!) Mr Short responded within 24 hours after my initial query and, after sending him pictures of the items to be moved, he sent me his hourly charges and the approximate (estimated) time that would be necessary to complete the work. He arrived on time and he and his co-worker had the truck packed within 3 hours. I was with this crew through out most of this time and I didn't hear any negative remarks, comments, etc. This company was very careful with my possessions both removing from my house and then packing into the storage facility. In fact, he found a way to preserve a desk that was shaky at best. I am so pleased with Mr. Short's work I am considering this company to permanently move me to NC when I take possession of another house. No problem recommending !

His pricing was more than fair, especially compared to other quotes we got. We also stored our furniture at his headquarters for four months between moves, and everything came back in perfect condition -- clearly a well-run, secure facility. Every move has been prompt and professional, with the crew taking great care of our belongings. It's rare to find a company you trust enough to call again and again, but that's exactly what this is. I also thought the service was a good value for the level of work they provided. What I especially appreciated was that they worked with me to find a solution when my plans changed. At one point, I was considering storing my belongings at their warehouse for less than a week. Rather than simply taking the additional business, they told me it did not make sense to move everything from the original location into warehouse storage for such a short period because it would unnecessarily increase my costs. That advice was one of the reasons I ultimately decided to use PODS instead. My moving needs did change at the last minute, which made the overall move more expensive than I had originally planned, but that was because of the changing logistics, not because they were trying to increase the price. I really appreciated that they were focused on helping me find the most practical and cost-effective solution. I would absolutely recommend them.

One guy sat in the truck most of the time, I have pictures, the others didn't start on my kitchen until the end, had to wait for that....later to find out when I went back to the old apartment they hadn't even finished the whole kitchen ...ran over my allotted time at the building I was moving out of, at my cost. And then they ruined my couch. So I paid DOUBLE what I was expecting, which was already more than what was quoted cause I was adding a little buffer, but ended up tipping a whole additional person because I'm not a jerk. The guys were nice but inefficient. Kept saying this is what you get with a higher quality mover, but it was not even a better experience. They were wasteful with the amount of packing supplies they used, never presented or communicated the prices of the materials they were using, which I was told was included anyway but also others I never approved or asked for. Just popped it on me in the end. Oh and then they say "we are going to adjust your time by 15 min you'll see a refund on your card" and two and a half weeks later still waiting for it to even show pending at least. But you better believe the charge was instant. I was debating sharing my feedback but was so mad I finally emailed the company. But no one had even dignified me with not even an automated response, just silence. So I come here to do something I pretty much never do. But that's how annoyed I am. Sorry but would rather recommend. Cheap Movers, way better. I used last move were a thousand times better and a QUARTER of the price. I'm not even cheap but I hate being taken for a fool, and it turned out to be just that. That's what I get what I get for using hourly movers for the first time, never again. A slow work scam, exactly what I was worried about, but like an idiot I bought into the reassurances Karen gave me but they truly let her down. I hope she knows they're having her selling lies.
