The service by young staff is efficient fuss free and full of charm. The menu is limited in choices but in fact offers a huge scope, ranging from a menu at €32 to a "menu surprise" at 45, which is just that or the "menu degustation" at 78, a flotilla of small dishes succeeding one another each accompanies by a carefully chosen wine. There is also an "à la carte" menu. The wines are flawless and is one relies on the advice given superbly in tune with the dish one is offered. The contents of the menu are ingeniously imaginative usually representing a lot of careful preparation using apparently excellent, fresh, ingredients. Overall, an experience not to be missed albeit at a price, which, if one analyses what is offered is sound value for money if not good value.

Since this place only had 3 French reviews, I wanted to write a comprehensive English one for non-French speakers so they can also enjoy this gem. Located in Saint-Julien-en-Genevois by the France/Switzerland border on the France side, La Table a Raclette specializes in fondues. Their options include raclette, reblonchonade, savoie, suisse, etc. For non dairy options, there are many meat items like hamburger, tartare, steak, salmon and escargot. Prices are also very reasonable (much cheaper than Geneva less than 15 minutes away). Our total was less than 50 euros despite ordering way too much food and drinks: ***decent wine list. We got local savoie wine and champagne for only 3-4 euros per glass! ***fondue savoie - I chose this one since it does not require a minimum of 2 people. A generous amount of 3 cheeses (comte, beaufort, gruyere), 7 huge fingerling potatoes, and a large basket of baguette pieces. Needless and sad to say, I only ate a third of my food. If you do not have a large appetite, this fondue is enough for 2 to eat. ***steak (entrecôte on the menu) with French fries, garlic green beans - there are 2 size options (300g, 500g). I think the 300g one is equivalent to about 10oz which I personally find enough to eat. Their medium rare is a true steakhouse medium rare with pink in the middle ***like typical French restaurants, you start with a basket of sliced baguette ***we also had small salads which were very necessary amongst the heap of bread, potatoes, cheese and meats All of our servers were very friendly but we only spoke French to them so I am not sure about their English speaking abilities. The food is home-style cooking, made by an experienced and internationally trained chef. He prepares authentic French food, and interprets it through the lens of a professional, making it even better, balancing the right amounts of flavor, aroma and presentation. The service is personal and top-notch. Wine pairing suggestions were great too. I understand there is also an outdoor patio dining option that opens in the warmer months. The place is small, so a reservation maybe useful, if you want to avoid a wait.
