However, we got our food to-go and it held up impressively well. My husband got the steak burrito fully smothered and it while it wasn't reinventing the burrito wheel, it was an impressive bite. I had the spicy chicken sandwich and it exceeded my expectations - the brand on the bun is a nice touch as well. The elote wasn't quite as impressive as the rest of the meal but for Cedar Rapids it's a rare find. Overall, it was a great, easy lunch to grab that left us full and happy. It's SO nice to have another great restaurant pop up on the SE side and the spot is a great transition from the food truck.

The reason BurgerFiend burgers are better than your average burger joint is they fresh grind and make their own Pattie's. My second tome here I ordered the Fiend Burger with just lettuce tomato and Ketchup so I would be getting a pure taste of the burger. This burger reminds me of what my dad would have thrown on the grill - minus the lighter fluid flavors. I also ordered an order of onion rings pictured here and again not sure if they are made here or brought in frozen but they are wonderfully flavorful and the fact that they tasted handmade (if they ate frozen) speaks to quality of product. I received great service and was impressed to see the owner interacting with some of what I could tell were regular patrons. Living nearby, I might just become one myself. I really enjoyed chatting up the staff and finding out what is on deck for new flavors and food. If you like a hood local place check out BurgerFiend.

Only a couple cars in the parking lot on a Tuesday evening but the waitress behind the counter was all smiles. We told her it was our first time and she recommend the burger for the first time over everything else. All the toppings on the list are included and free. I actually was so excited about this. I told her more of what I didn't want to make the list shorter. I got the 1/4 ,patty, all the toppings minus raw onion. Picked my sauces. There was a fry big enough to share with the hubby and he got the Fiend size burger. They have Coca-Cola in glass bottles which was fantastic. The food came out fast and tasted amazing. The variety of appetizers is solid and we almost always get at least two because it's so hard to decide. The pork belly burnt ends and cheese bread are regular favorites for us. The barbecue strangely enough is solid for a place that doesn't do it regularly. I usually get some type of chicken sandwich and the chicken is always moist and above average. The only "cons" I have. Sometimes the service can be a touch slow. This isn't super common, but has happened once or twice for us. Second: the kids chicken tenders just do not look appealing and my son isn't impressed by them. They're dry and honestly they'd be better off getting premade frozen ones cause these ones aren't great. The fries however make up for this ten fold as my son is obsessed with their fries. Otherwise, this place is solid. We recommend it to friends and family regularly and it's a great spot if you're wanting to try something unique.
