Be forewarned, neither company will stand behind their flooring and the "lifetime warranty" they sell you is meaningless. We purchased an Armstrong vinyl plank floor (A6899 Luxe Plank) from them for our kitchen. It was supposed to be their top-of-the-line floor and was sold with a lifetime warranty. We recently started a remodel of the kitchen with plans to keep the flooring in place. However, during construction, our contractor noticed that the vinyl planks were separating at the joints. We called McSwain, who in turn sent someone to the house (Paul I believe) and he was extremely rude and condescending. He basically said our issue was "an environmental" issue and they would not honor the warranty claim. With this news we opened a claim with Armstrong in the hopes that they would stand behind their product. Fast forward 5 months later and today they rejected the claim stating, " issue you are having with your flooring is not a warranted issue". No other information provided. Our kitchen is no different from any other kitchen, so their excuse of it being an "environmental" issue does not hold water. Especially given that they can't/won't explain what that even means. Steer clear of both McSwain's and Armstrong!

I called & spoke to the owner & he checked & agreed square ft was way over what I needed & cost was wrong. The day they installed it I said where they had to piece it together was 2 different Carpet colors! They argued & said it was the natural light making it look different. I advised them it was not that. After dealing with them for 3 days I kept the carpet since I could hide the smaller piece with furniture. The owner decided to look at it & gave me a discount. I've never went through anything like this before. Will go to a big name company next time!

We've even gotten actual cuts on our feet from it a handful of times. I don't know if whatever it is was supposed to be hammered down, or there's another layer that was supposed to be under the carpet to cover it so it wouldn't poke through, or what. If your foot accidentally touches the front part of a step while walking up, it's even worse (doing that and getting a deep cut on my toe yesterday is what reminded me I'd been meaning to leave a review for a while). The carpet all around just feels like there isn't nearly enough padding put in under it. And the carpet itself feels pretty poor quality, although to be fair it was cheap. All of that aside, the people who came to install the carpet were nice and pretty quick. They were also able to get us scheduled for installation pretty soon when we called, which is why we picked them. We just wish we'd waited a little longer and gone with someone else.
