For a dealer job with OEM parts, this costs around $4500 for the front pair. After doing tons of research, I decided to utilize a quality aftermarket kit. However, when I talked to the dealer, they tried to steer me away from this, and while they said they could do it with aftermarket parts, they seemed very unsure and cited issues with prior customers going this route. Another local shop told me they wouldn't be comfortable replacing just the rotors (they wanted me to bring a factory rotor/hat assembly which is honestly unnecessary if old hats are in good shape). I did not feel very confident with both shops. I reached out to Matsenko on yelp by chance and their tech, William, responded within a couple of hours and knew exactly what I was trying to do. I was honestly surprised at how knowledgeable he was with my specific brake job and decided to give them a shot. They got me in quick, and everything was done by end of next day. The brake job is excellent, there is no noise or judder, and braking action is very smooth. In addition, they did an hvac cleaning for me (i had some contamination in my evaporator core) which another shop tried, and failed, and charged me $500 for the whole ordeal. All of this was done well at a fraction of the cost at Matsenko, and I saved thousands. I am very pleased with everything, and the amount of attention to communication I received is something I rarely see these days. Everyone was also very nice and personable, from the shop owner, to the tech and to reception which is also less common these days. I drove all the way from Olympia to have this done, and when my rear brakes need a swap, I know who I'll be calling Thank you for the wonderful service everyone!

I spoke with Mike, who was very friendly and provided updates throughout the entire process. After explaining the situation, they took my car in without hesitation. They assessed the damage quickly and assured me it was no problem for them to fix, which gave me the confidence I needed that the car was in good hands. To top it off, they quoted me a price significantly lower than the other shops I contacted. The repairs took about a month due to backordered parts, but now my car looks good as new. When I picked up my car, last Monday....two and a half weeks late, the door was popping when opening and had to be shut very hard to close all the way. I immediately went back up there telling them it's not right, they told me it's the new panel, the new door, and the new weather stripping combination and I need to give it time. I took my car for service and the dealership said the door isn't right and I need to take it back in. I called the body shop again and explained what the dealership said, the manager told me again it's the weather stripping but I could bring it in today and they would look at it again, but he feels I need to give it more time. I called Lakes Auto Boby and explained, they said to bring it in and they could give me their professional opinion. I went to Lakes, at first they thought the striker just needed adjusted and offered to fix it there since it appears the other place doesn't want to do it. After more time they determined the door was too low and the hinge needed adjusted, which means going through the dash and probably why the other place didn't want to fix when I took it back the first time. They sent me with an estimate and told me exactly what I need to tell the other place to do to fix it so they can't keep giving me excuses. This wreck has taught me even if it's 100% not your fault your own insurance isn't on your side, unfortunately the person who hit me only had minimum coverage so I had to go through my insurance for repairs. You also don't have to go through the body shop your insurance refers you to and I wish I knew that and would have taken it to Lakes Auto Body in the first place!
