This man is a Godsend! I have an office in Lancaster, but I've been blessed to have the ability AND…read moreopportunity to work from home. I'm usually typing all day long and when the letter T stopped working on my keyboard, I had to get it fixed immediately, or else, I would've had to replace the whole laptop. I didn't want to do that because my laptop works just fine otherwise. I found Gerry through a Google search for a local computer/laptop repair man. I called him on Friday when I was 5 minutes away from his residence. I didn't even have an appointment or anything, but I was able to drop it off right then and there. He was able to order the part I needed that same day and it was delivered the following day on Saturday. By Monday evening, I picked up my laptop and it was as good as new. He stated that within the next few months, I'll have to replace my battery and perhaps add some more RAM in order to make my computer that much faster and efficient. He was such a gentleman, very sweet, and we talked about my favorite subjects: movies and Star Wars! He genuinely seemed like an honest, Christian man. I'll definitely be bringing my laptop to him again in the near future.

The representative informed me that I could drop it off anytime before 5pm. I got there at 4:20pm and it was closed. When I called the same rep back, he told me that the tech decided to close early today. The next day, I came at 11am, the tech had already left for the day. I was informed he only comes once a day to pick up the devices and repairs them at a different location. I don't understand why this could not have been communicated the day before especially when I wasted my time the first time. The lack of communication really tarnishes their professionalism.

My first consideration in picking a computer consultant isn't technical excellence. That's a close…read moresecond. My first consideration is whether these are people I can trust, not only to do the job well but to accurately explain the issues and their associated charges. Any professional can tell you a job required any number of bench hours and if you're like me a computer is a black box you have no way to assert otherwise and have to pay whatever they want. I brought my problem -- and it was a big one: data recovery off an SSD drive -- to My Computer Tech and they retrieved the data on time and for a very reasonable cost. Are they the "cheapest"? I don't know, I didn't shop the job around. I chose them based on a five minute phone consultation from which I gained the strong impression that these were honest staff. I do know that an initial low-ball quote means nothing, and that later the savings can be eaten up by "unseen problems" once the cover comes off. My Computer Tech came in at the low side of the quoted range and I would have paid much more owing to the value of the data retrieved. I will be referring and continue to come back.

Which he sounded like he knows how to fix this problem so I was comfortable enough to leave my computer there over a couple days for them to send it out to their technicians to fix. However, the couple days turned into over the weekend and not sure if I will get it back by Monday. so I asked for the computer back, Dee said they find nothing really wrong with the video card but replacing the screen would be ideal since there's 2 lines there. I contemplated and agreed to let them fix the problem that didn't really bother me but since they suggested it, I guess it won't hurt. But, that's when it all go downhill from there. There's a wait for the part that's needed to fix the computer. Since I insist to keep the computer instead of leaving it at the store when they need to order the parts n wait for it to arrive to the store, they charged me $100 deposits in case I won't go back to let them fix the computer, but the part never came and they returned $60 to my credit card and kept the $40 for restocking fee or the tech to open my computer to check for issues? Also, they never call or notify me for returning the money or not able to fix my computer. I had to find that out through my credit card bill. Talk about unprofessionalism. So disappointed with them. I guess I will tell them how unhappy I'm with their service on Yelp would be the right thing to do since they don't want interaction with their customers. This is total scam to me. They open my computer saw nothing wrong but suggested I replace the screen yet the place they order parts from took forever n supposedly they never got the part, so they decided to charge me a fee because of what!? How is that on my tab? I would be aware of this place if you plan on using their service to fix computer. Btw, you walk in, there's no computer there, it feels super sketchy. If it's not for the past positive rating, I would have not given them any business. I do questions those reviews.
