The Schafer Leather Store has been around since 1867 and sells a wide variety of leather goods and gifts. In particular, they have a huge selection of Kicker boots and Cowboy hats. I stopped in yesterday and was warmly welcomed by couple who owns the place and amused by a street guy who wandered in and complained that he couldn't get any credit here! It's a very nice shop and I got to peak in back where the do a lot of leather-related work themselves. The drawback is the time it took to receive, a factor in any custom item, and while I often thought about what the delay was, in the end it just reinforced the whole idea of "good, cheap, fast - pick two".
