The Bible (Jesus) says, know each tree by their fruit (actions) they bare. Good trees CANT produce…read morebad fruit and bad trees CANT produce good fruit. Good trees ONLY produce good fruit and bad trees ONLY produce bad fruit. As a tree can be identified by its fruit a person can be identified by their actions (and words). For the things that proceed out of the mouth COME FROM THE HEART...and these are the things that defile a person (makes a person a unclean/). And you should know the truth and the truth sets you free. Make them holy by thy truth, Thy Word Is Truth. I had an appointment for an estimate today between 10:30 - 11:30am for a concrete project at my home in Indiana with Affordable Concrete raising. The experience was profoundly disappointing, extremely unprofessional, and left me questioning the company's respect for people of the black race. When the worker arrived at 11:50am, upon exiting his vehicle, he specifically walked onto my private driveway, looked directly at me--as I was standing in my garage walking towards him to greet him--and proceeded to spit onto my driveway which came across as spitting in my face. I was instantly disguised and offended by such a sickening act. He didn't introduce himself or offer a handshake. When I tried explaining this to a female manager, she became a mocker! Her goal was not to help or try to resolve this situation calming. Instead, she began to wordplay, asking did he speak about race, to defend his disgusting act. She went on intentionally disrespect me by claiming that my religious beliefs were opinions when the Bible says its truth. She was mocking my religion, saying don't throw rocks at a glass house, saying that's a scripture when its not. When she looked up the scripture she said, it says "he who is without sin." She goes on to harass me by bearing false witness lying on me continuing to say that she feels threatened b/c im black, proving she is prejudice also. I asked for a return call from a mgr above her & mockingly said she wld, meaning she's not going to just like she's not going to handle this complaint. He then briefly looked at the job and stated he couldn't do the work. The deliberate act of walking onto private property to spit rather than using the street, coupled with his confrontational demeanor while looking at me, felt deeply disrespectful and discriminatory, like he wanted me to know he didnt want to work with me. If I don't receive a call back by a owner/mgr this co agrees w/prejudice & disrespect. I would not recommend this company to anyone seeking respectful, professional service.

The work was exactly as quoted (4 8'x8' concrete slabs raised on my driveway), and the area's they raised were connected to my front and back patio, which they were clear could be impacted with the move. When it was, I felt informed and knew exactly what to expect. I would recommend and use Affordable Concrete for any of my projects needed in the future. Thanks!

They were under contract to spot tuck-point an entire wall but instead they only did the top of the wall and then claimed that the work was completed. When confronted about the rest of the wall, they repeatedly lied saying they did the entire wall and said that I was seeing shadows. Only after producing photos (I attached a few photos) of gaping holes did they grudgingly get back on the wall to complete the job. They said "ugh, I guess we missed a few spots" Unless you plan on babysitting them throughout the project, I do not recommend them.

They did some spot tuckpoint work at the top of the building but then used a vinegar spray to make it appear they had completed tuckpointing on the areas showing effervescence. The effervescence returned since they had not fixed any cracks in the mortar in those within a few months. We tried to work this out with them, but had to file a complaint with the better business bureau and now considering small claims court against them. I notice a review by Matty C on 8-3-20 that reports the same issue we had with them claiming to have done work and arguing with us despite the evidence of the building looking the exact same before and after.

I learned a lot of things from my Dad-- How to be fair, how to work really hard and do more than is…read moreasked of you, how to be generous: I did not learn that if you have a fireplace and use it regularly, even if you always use hardwood, you will need to have it cleaned regularly. So after twenty years of making modest hardwood fires, I started to have a cough. My sister came to visit and even being in the living room (no fire) made her cough and gave her a runny nose. Thinking, okay, I'll have my chimney cleaned, I called Chicago Chimney. Toni was nice and said that Mario was really good at his work, and it would be $150. When he came, pleasant, personable, and clearly competent, I could see that being near my fireplace was making his nose run. I told him about my sister. Might need more that just a cleaning, he said. He shone his flashlight up a short ways into the fireplace. "I call that black glass", he said. What is it? I said. My English is not so good, he said, underestimating his excellent skills. Google clarified. I found out that bubbles of "black glass" represent the third stage of a serious creosote problem-- first soot, then tar that is runny, then the glass part, beautiful and perfectly ready for a chimney fire. One thing about my dad, he prepared me to know a good person when I saw him. Mario said that he was going to have to come back with material and brushes that could dissolve the creosote. The next day, when forty or fifty pounds of mortar on the chimney lining just fell off piece by piece once the creosote was not holding it all together, he explained that another day and another step would be involved, putting a mixture of protective covering over a now very porous surface, insulation, sealant. (As it happened, he did this himself by crawling up into the tight black space and painting it on. The dilemma of having a helper who was unwilling to do it was a problem he would deal with later. He took the guy off to another job and came back. It was this part, where he was a matter of fact about doing the exceptionally nasty work, and understanding about the kid's inability to do it-- he just said "last winter I was doing this every day." I want to put a sign up in my yard for him and his professional and humane work. He charged me $900 for the cleaning part and $1100 for the resealing part. Interestingly, this is less than $150/ year for 20 years, not even counting inflation; I recommend him wholeheartedly for yearly (or every-other-year sweeping) and for the whole cleaning and sealant job if you are someone who didn't know how bad it could get. He does tuckpointing too. The warmth and charm apparently come free.

They stopped taking our phone calls and would not answer our text messages. I recommend anyone needing chimney work to stay away from this company.
