They removed two large trees and trimmed five others. They came with a crane, trucks, chippers and other machinery to get the job done efficiently. They cleaned up so well, I could mow the next day. They did some large tree pruning and stump grinding on my property. Overall, a great value. They were extremely quick (almost too quick in a few spots, in my observation). I'm subtracting one star because they left several large limbs sheared off with excess bark exposed, which can harm the tree and attract insects and disease. Additionally, they could be more consistent about using lawn mats under heavy equipment to protect grass.

Where do I even begin? My experience with Madsen Tree Service has not been good. I reached out to…read morethem weeks ago to schedule an appointment for a quote. They said I had to wait 3 weeks for a quote. A few days before my scheduled quote time the company rescheduled my appointment. Let me say that the only times available was 5pm during the week right after I pick up my 2 you children so I had to bring them to property. The second scheduled day I showed up and waited... 2 crazy young kids running around, hungry and complaining. After some time, I called to see where they were. They informed that they would be there Thursday... and couldn't make it. Thursday I showed up same time... with 2 kids and the same thing happened.., this time when I called know one picked up and no one returned my phone call. The lack of communication was frustrating. Text? Email? Calendar invite, call ahead? ....nothing. How can such a basic task of scheduling an appointment be so difficult for them? I'm really disappointed.

On 04/24/25 the owner of the property adjacent to ours hired this company to remove a tree that was…read moreat risk of falling onto our property. While taking the tree down, a large branch fell. It ripped through the polyurethane fabric of our outdoor storage shed & broke the corner metal frame. (It broke the metal pipes, it came down with such force.) Smaller branches left holes in the ground. While one of the workers immediately acknowledged the damage & apologized, the owner never contacted me like I was told he would. At 7pm I contacted him. He didn't seem to understand the extent of the damage because he only offered to replace the "tarp." I asked him to come assess the damage himself but he wouldn't give me a day & time when he available. I explained that valuable items were now exposed to the elements. He insisted on involving the elderly lady who hired him & eventually hung up on me. He offered my son a mere $250. His crew didn't even clean up the fallen mess. The elderly lady who hired him drove 2 hours to come assess the damage herself (I hadn't spoken to her so I assume the owner contacted her like he said he would). I was shocked when she texted me asking if she could drop off a check for $150 as the 1st installment of the $500 that *she*, not The Tree Connection, was going to pay! I told her absolutely not! She did not do the damage, the company did, & they're the ones responsible for it! I've never heard of a company expecting the person who hired them to pay for damage their crew did! Make sure you have a written guarantee that you will not be responsible any damage this company causes should you decide to hire them.

After calling several services with no response, A Cut Above Tree Service came to the rescue. Miguel called right back and came out a couple of hours later. He surveyed the damage and wrote up an estimate on the spot which was very reasonable. He and his crew came out the very next day, performed the service, and cleaned up the area beautifully. The tree was in a heavily wooded area and his crew was able to position the logs so they would not disturb a nearby stream runoff and cause flooding. They also cut down a dead maple tree in our front yard and again did a superb job of cleaning up the area. My wife and I were thrilled with the professionalism and courtesy of Miguel and his crew. They definitely live up to their company name - A Cut Above; they truly have exceeded our expectations. We highly recommend them and will definitely use then in the future.
