They enthusiastically told me…read morethey know the HR field very well and that the most difficult task is finding good quality long term employees. They told me they've been doing this a long time and they knew exactly what kind of employee I needed. The pricing seemed reasonable, $49/month and after visiting them a second time, I finally called later that month to try the service. This is where my first red flag should have been. The great service that they advertised and told me about at the convention was actually $349/month. This is for the upgraded "concierge" service where their staff would personally check and make sure any new hire was legitimate and had all the proper qualifications and certifications. So that's $349/month PLUS an additional $49/month. The $49/month they advertised was required to just "access" their online website and their database of potential employees. $349 is for the concierge person who would personally review all background and work experience, basically vet, and contact all employees to make sure they were legit before I would speak with them and interview them. So basically $400/month. Anyways, Swiss Monkey told me California is a tough place to hire but that they knew all the proper questions to ask to make sure an employee actually knew what they were doing and were actually qualified for the job. Basically, if someone was fluffing up their resumes, they would be able to see right through it. I thought it would be great way to find a good employee faster. So Swiss Money would personally check an employee's background, personal phone call interview with the Swiss Monkey staff, and reference checks etc. to make sure they are qualified before I had to do anything. I worked with Rachel throughout. She was enthusiastic and seemed knowledgable. She told me she knew exactly the qualities and type of work experience needed for my employee. It took a few weeks but I was excited when she told me she found the "perfect" person. Going on all the positives things she told me and her high recommendation, I decided to hire this person. I also met the person in person to make sure they were personable and reviewed their resume with them. After a couple days with this person, I found the new hire completely unable to do any of their major responsibilities, the clearly defined duties that Rachel told me this person could absolutely do and do well. I called Swiss Monkey and they said that this doesn't happen and they would renew the search for a new employee. No refund though even though all this time was wasted. I am still paying this entire time, including the time when this sucky employee didn't work out. Anyways after this, I noticed an attitude change from Swiss Monkey. From I want to find you the best employee to let's just find someone okay. If I wanted to find someone "okay", I wouldn't be paying another company $400 a month for help. Something else odd... I wonder if Swiss Monkey may have been grabbing random resumes from other websites like Indeed or Craiglist because when I called these potential employees about applying to my Swiss Monkey job post, they did not know who Swiss Monkey or who Rachel was. It was one bad apple after another. After another employee they recommended I hire ended up being completely unreliable, I finally ended my service. This employee showed up to work late a few times and finally didn't show up to work at all. So disappointing, a bunch of money wasted down the drain. To be fair, I mentioned all these concerns to Swiss Monkey to give them a chance to rectify the situation. I also told Swiss Monkey the information their staff told me about potential employees on the phone, often times, didn't match my conversation with them. And it seemed like it was only Rachel who did everything and it was sometimes hard to get a hold of her. She was super prompt initially but later it was harder to get a hold of her. You are paying for monthly service so if it a couple of days here, wait a week here etc it all adds up. Anyways, it was a very, very expensive mistake and one I hope I can help others avoid. Glass half full, I think maybe that they may be better in certain regions, they are based out of Northern California, but I think other cities, they really lack the knowledge and experience. And they don't have a lot of employees. When I called the office once, an employee leaving the company told me there was only 3 full time people working for the entire company. I don't know if that is true. But I do know that Rachel was the only person I spoke with and seemed to be the main person doing everything. So I don't know if she confused certain people she recommended and maybe that's why the information was off. But I do know her enthusiastic and super helpful attitude changed. I didn't even find one "okay" employee with this expensive service. I definitely do not recommend them.
