I highlighted my experience with them in a review I also left for the office that uses them: I was seen by Dr. Slater in November of last year to address two fractured bones. I had read previous Yelp! reviews regarding his demeanor and went in not expecting very much in terms of customer service. To my surprise, his office staff was very friendly, and the doctor himself was at least cordial -- though bear in mind, he is very cold and at times even condescending. I left after paying 550$ out of pocket for my services. Fast forward to January 2019, and I receive a bill in the mail for that same amount. I contacted Dr.Slater's billing services only to never receive a call back. After several attempts I was treated extremely rudely by someone named "Elaine" who spoke to me as if I was lying about paying upfront. I asked to speak with her manager and was told someone would call me back and then she hung up. I called Dr. Slater's office directly only to be told that they don't handle their own billing, and that there was nothing that they could do! I asked the receptionist if there wasn't a single person there who could confirm that a payment was made there at the reception desk that day, surely they keep a ledger of some kind? I asked to speak with an office manager and was informed that she was in her office with the door closed and could not be disturbed. Great! After an hour I receive a call back from the same receptionist, not the office manager, who said that she was able to confirm that I did pay that day, but I was still unable to speak to the office manager. Apparently she had come out of her office, but felt that the way a billing service hired through them treated their patients was out of her jurisdiction. I called the billing service back and spoke to "Monica" who claimed to be a manager, but was just as rude as the first person I spoke to. She told me "Well, obviously the issue has been resolved and every needs to put this behind them." She said how I was treated by their associate wasn't relevant to our phone call! She also mentioned to me, in a tone that suggested I was a con artist,that I was sent the bill in the first place because of a handwritten note in Dr.Slaters writing telling them that I was to be billed, therefore I couldn't have paid when I said I had. Mind you, all of this is AFTER producing an electronic statement from my checking account proving that I paid on the same day I was seen. I'm extremely disappointed that and will be actively discouraging anyone from being seen at this office ever again.

Was promised my account would be "recalled" from collection agency, but agency says they never got recall, so there's still an open account under my name. Asked to speak with a supervisor at Physician's Billing after I was told to call back in 15 days. I finally got somebody. During my explanation I was disconnected and not called back.

I called to get information as to why my bill was so high and spoke to the owner John Posey. I was…read moreinstantly greeted with animosity and a condescending tone, and he continually yelled at me through the entire conversation. I repeatedly asked him to stop yelling at me, which only made him yell louder so as to be louder than me. I finally just let him finish his ranting and then asked, "Are you done yelling at me now?" ... to which he answered, "Yes." I then thanked him for admitting that he was yelling at me, to which he offered not dispute. I then asked him his name, he told me John P., but refused to give me his entire name (I got it from my physician's office), and he told me that he was the owner. He asked why I was asking (he yelled it actually) and I told him that he had the worst customer service that I had ever had and I wanted to speak with someone else (which was when he told me that he owner the business). He said that he had been dealing with "people like me" for 22 years and that I was just trying to get out of paying a bill. I told him that he had no idea who I was...or what "kind" of person I am, that I was just trying to get information, at that time, he hung up on me. At this point I have refused to have any dealings with him, or any physician that does business with him. I called the physician's office that I went to, and informed them of all of this so that they would know how their patients are being treated by their billing service. I strongly recommend that businesses do not use the Physician's Billing Service in Napa, California, and that consumers do NOT do business with any office that uses Physician's Billing Service, for your own good...you may end up having a question...and you will pay dearly for it!
