I enjoyed the whipped feta and harissa. I feel like 3 stars isn't enough, but 4 is pushing it. I went with 4 since this is my first order and it was delivered. Y'all can keep on liking Arni's without me. We don't need to see eye-to-eye on this pizza joint for…read moreus to be friends. I'm fully OK with you loving Arni's and me thinking it's fine slash borderline not very good. Don't get it twisted, though. The service at this Arni's is excellent. The service is way better than it needs to be. The servers are quick and friendly, and it's a pleasure to dine here. I'm just not a fan of the food. But I feel like Arni's has been an institution in the Lafayette/West Lafayette area for a long time, so people have their allegiances and hills that they are willing to die on. One of those hills that locals seem to want to die on is that Arni's and their thin crust pizzas, which are cut into squares, are good. I ordered a personal sausage pizza, which is like a microwaveable Mama Celeste or Connie's pizza, but served at a restaurant. The crust is cracker thin, the sauce is very sweet, and the whole pie is just a little too greasy, and hard and soft in all the wrong places. Maybe I needed to order a larger pizza? Maybe the small size of the personal pizza is not the way to go? I also ordered a Caesar salad, which came with chunks of chicken that I did not order with my salad. OK! It also came with tomatoes and the dressing on the side, and at that point, it ceased to be a Caesar salad in my mind and was just a salad with chicken and tomatoes. Arni's is not my thing, but this place was poppin' during lunchtime on a weekday, so you know it's other people's thing. Maybe give it a try when you're in the Lafayette area.

The lesson I learned is that even though you're near a major college campus (Purdue University), you're still in Indiana, and things close early. But luckily, Potbelly was open, and I was able to eat dinner thanks to this sandwich joint. Seriously, Potbelly was a beacon in a sea of closed restaurants. So I popped in and was greeted kindly, which was nice. I got an Avo Turkey, which is basically a turkey sandwich with avocado, cucumber slices and Swiss cheese. It was very tasty, and very big! Even the half sandwich is large. This Potbelly is a good place to get your sandwich to go. But if you wanted to stay and eat in the restaurant, there are lots of tables and places to sit to enjoy your food.

You have to wind through residential areas to get there. The parking lot is long and thin. A bit difficult getting in and out. Bruno's shares the lot with the brewery. Finding the Bruno's door is a bit difficult. Do I come in the front or the back? Once inside I was shocked at how small the seating area was. There were about 8 tables that would seat 40 people. Dinning in could be a challenge on a busy night. The seating was comfortable and relaxing. There was only one large wall of nostalgia to enjoy - just not the same. The food was just like you remember. The Bruno dough was a bit tough on this occasion. It was hard to bit and chew. The Deluxe pizza was excellent. The sweet sauce is my favorite.
