I was very excited to go here because I LOVE mexican food (but hard to find good restaurants around here) The salsa was ok, tasted almost store bought. My pop came in a dirty cup and when I say dirty I mean the entire inside of the cup was coated with some kind of crusty stuff gross!!!!! The chicken chimichanga didn't have much flavor to the chicken barely any cheese sauce on top. Rice was flavorless. The refried beans were not so good which made me sad always look forward to good beans :( Now lets talk about the staff ..... Hostess didn't know where to seat us kind of walked in circles in the dinning room Our waitress seemed like she didn't want to be there and I have never seen a staff play so much grab ass! Not kidding they were flirting and touching each other right in the dinning room paying attention to themselves more then the tables. So I want to start off by saying, the food was great. They also offer a FREE tequila shot to anyone who requested it on a Saturday! However, execution of a proper dinner service was bar none. We started with a table of 11.. after about 60 minutes they offered to split us between 2 booths to get seated. Which we were happy to do so, since we were such a large group on a busy night. At this point we were a table of 6 with a small child. Service was slow, but not horrible given the business of the restaraunt. All of us ordered our entree at the same and we continued on. 30 minutes later 3 meals were served. About 10 minutes later 2 more meals were served. 10 more minutes later (still waiting on 2 meals) I went to talk to a manager. 3 of 7 meals were cold and still 2 were not served. The hostesses that I spoke to apologized and quickly found the manager. He did seem bit irritated.... at first... and then apologized and offered our food for free. Not what was expected, at all, but were thankful he listened and cared. We finished our meals and then waited for our drink bills. We waited, and waited, and waited. No one ever came back. I again went to the hostess station and before they could take action another member I was with retrieved the manager as he walked by. He comped our entire bill. Wow, very, nice. We are a big family. We expected to wait. We expected to spend a lot. We also are not picky on service. But you do NOT serve part of a table at a time. You go as a family to have a meal as family. This is true for any group, big or small, that goes to have a meal. If you cannot have a meal together there is no reason to go. I have to give a shout out to the hostesses . The smallest paid employee at this restaurant proved that they aren't just looking at it as a job. They actually cared. They had the best customer service and understanding out of everyone. I would never tell anyone not to go, because truthfully... we ended up with a meal and we were together as a family in a nice enviroment. I appreciate what the restaraunt did to make a bad situation better... but we come to eat as a family, bottom line. I hope they took our experience and learned from it. Only got to three stars because the staff is excellent. I have been here a few times. Every time, the servers were great. Every time, the food has been bland and uninspiring....think ground beef wrapped up in a tortilla with a little sauce. I may be particular, though, as I lived in South Texas for years and we are, indeed, now in the Midwest where spicy food isn't very popular. read more

Could not agree more with the dirty glass comment. I thought it may have been something I was being picky about but holy cow...I received two dirty glasses. Yes, it happened twice in the same visit. Very strange. Inconsistent from the kitchen. I have tried this place three times and will not be back. this place needs a good cleaning from top to bottom---the ladies bathroom was gross...It just has a dark and grimy feel----I tasted the chips and cheese and the chips were stale --the cheese was uninspired. This place looks so stripmallishly boring from the outside that I did not visit it for some years. That's a shame because inside, it's attractively done up as a Mexican village. The portion sizes are just right (for me). I've been to some Mexican restaurants where I pay more for a larger portion that I can't possibly eat, what a waste. I only gave it four stars because it was my first time here. New menu, very underwhelmed with the food this time. Even the salsa that comes with the chips isn't the same and the chips tasted old. I was so sad to have this drastic of a change...we even thought possibly new owners with the new menu??? Might give them one more try? The Mexican place over by Walgreens has really stepped up their game, going to have to switch back. I don't know why some places think the customers won't notice when you start serving cheap food to save money I'm guessing? I would rather pay more for a good meal than feel like I wasted my money on crap food and totally not happy. read more

I was hosting a baby shower with a 'Taco Bout a Baby' theme. I wanted some authentic Mexican dishes and contacted Azul Tequila. They could not have been more helpful! I ended up ordering rice, churros, sopapillos, taco shells, and their southwest egg rolls for about 30 people. Everything was wonderful! I picked it up the day before the party. The instructions to reheat were very simple. Everything tasted great the next day! People especially raved about the southwest rolls and churros! Will definitely consider ordering again from them for my next family gathering! read more

I asked questions to the wait staff about what the fish was seasoned with before I ordered it. None of them "knew". Even upon asking the folks in the kitchen it was described to me as "being seasoned with; cilantro, paprika, salt, pepper and other spices" In conclusion the waitstaff sucked , the food was beyond awful and the menu LITERALLY LIED TO ME. I have not been impressed with the food but the price is right. I would prefer Taco Bell though and that is saying a lot. The service is hit or miss and I am not a fun of their policies. We let them know days in advance that we have a big group coming, and they are rude. We are not asking for a reservation we are giving you a heads up for staffing needs. Nope. Rude. Every. Time. and they can't even be kind enough to put pitchers of water out. We have to beg for water! Long story short, all the food was mediocre, it took hours for ALMOST everyone to get their food. 1/2 was done before the other third was served and then the first third was leaving as the last people were served and they still completely forgot one diner-me, and I had ordered a taco salad. They are getting two stars only because the other day we stopped in for a cocktail before going to diner at the BBQ place next door and they did a lovely job at their small bar. read more

We have waited a long time to have a good Mexican restaurant come to Hudson. I watched as the Azul Tequila was built out and finally opened. Sadly, it looks like I'll be waiting much longer as the food and service proved to be a huge disappointment. Let's start with the salsa and chips. This was the highlight of the meal. We were presented with a large basket of fresh corn chips and two nicely sized servings of a light tomato salsa and another bowl of chili salsa with just the right amount of spice. The menus are huge and without a flashlight nearly impossible to read. The orange background with darker orange corners gave no contrast to the huge selection of dishes. The takeout menus might give use the ability to make our selections at home before our next visit. Yes, we're going to give Azul another chance to see if things might improve. My wife ordered cheese enchiladas with a soft shell chicken taco, which were pretty good, but the rice was pretty tasteless and nondescript. I ordered three beef tacos with beans and rice. The beef was absolutely tasteless and even the addition of the hot sauce, on the table, was not enough to add any flavor. The chicken enchilada I ordered was also lacking in flavor and the watery sauce was disappointing. Hopefully, management will accept this review as an opportunity to make changes in the food and the menu. The server tried hard, but seemed nervous. I'll assume this was due to the newness of the restaurant. I'll give it one more chance before I give up on Azul Tequila. read more

It was the worst food I've ever had at a restaurant. This place actually gives me a reason to recommend Taco Bell. We had four in our group and no one liked any of their dishes, nor finished them. I will say the complimentary chips and salsa were good so maybe at the very least this place can offer a beer and chips. Two people ordered margaritas. The traditional style tasted like the ocean and my friend would suck up salt chunks as he sipped. The mango margarita was over the top sweet and didn't taste like anything but sugar. Service was slow and the hostess that sat us had an "I don't give a f**k" attitude and chucked the menus on the table. Back to the food. We had an assortment of dishes. All of which tasted like soggy paper. There was absolutely no flavor (at least nothing that tasted like food). It seems like they bought all their food frozen from some other awful restaurant that shut down years ago and now they're trying to reheat it and pass it off for $8 a plate. As we left, we felt sick, angry, and insulted that they would actually serve that food to us. Do not go here, go anywhere else and it will be better than this place. read more

Meh, the food, was ok. I had the chimichanga. It didn't taste very mexican, the insides were more like bland pot roast with a can of mild chilies added. The mango margarita tasted like some sort of cleaning product. Probably, a mix and not a good one. If it wasn't a mix then they seriously need to work on their recipe! Basically, I wasn't expecting much, people had told me that they like it for the atmosphere and huge plates, and that the food is bland and that is all true. Today I tried Fiesta Loca, a smaller restaurant on the other side of 94. It has the same types of food on their menu, but they seem to get better reviews and in my opinion my meal there was much better than my meal at Azul. read more

Loved it! My husband and I were passing through and stopped in last minute. They have buy 1 get 1 free margarita's all day, everyday. We sat at the bar rail and the Thursday afternoon female bartender was very friendly. She was quick to acknowledge us and very willing to help us. She brought us water and chips with two kinds of salsa. Both salsas were awesome! One was very mild and hardly had an onion in it, which I love not having a ton of onions in my salsa. The other salsa had a kick to it and tons and tons of cilantro. I ate a bowl of each salsa. The chips were warm and fresh. I cannot eat dairy or meat or lard if it is in the refried beans. Our server asked the kitchen and the beans are made with oil... score! I have 3 bean enchiladas with rice & beans ($8.99) and my husband had pollo de crema ($9.99/$10.99) which he gave 4 stars too. My two margarita's were $5.25, I had them on the rocks, with vodka instead of tequila and with flavor. We left a 25% tip which was well deserved for great food at good prices and cheap drinks.
