Worst cut ever. Place is very dirty. People are nice and I'm nice, so I didn't speak up. But will never go back.

i took two small dogs. Anthony did a terrible job on both of them. The poodle was choppy, and uneven. he cut the mats out leaving big gaps in her beautiful ears. she was not brushed out nor fluffy either. i could have done a better job myself. He said he trimmed toenails but they were left much too long. the other dog was a tiny yorkie puppy. she is too young to get rabies shot and they should not have accepted her in for grooming without it. As it turned out, it didnt look like he did anything at all and then charged me $45.00 for each of them. I will never go back. read more

Great service every time!! I've taken my ShihTzu and my Standard Poodle and they do awesome with them.

The owners are SO nice, and always make sure that I'm 100% happy with the way my Shih Tzu looks BEFORE I leave. They have groomed my dog 4 times now, and I've been satisfied each time. I even had to drop her off early before business hours in order to make a work meeting, they were MORE than accommodating!! As for the establishment - the building is old and very small. I have lived in Azle my whole life, and it has been there majority of the time. Sure, it could use a remodel and fresh paint, BUT the prices are more than reasonable and if that means that they must keep the building as is in order to provide great service at cheap prices than WHY would anyone complain?! I'll continue using Azle Pet Salon for as long as they are around! read more

Took my poodle in and should have left before leaving her. The inside is filthy with cobwebs hanging from the ceiling and clutter everywhere. They were supposed to give her a poodle cut but looked like a blind monkey got loose on her. Her hair was uneven and it looks awful. I will not use them again. read more

I'm new to the area and my little girl, a 10 pound cavalier/poodle mix was in desperate need of grooming. I contacted these guys because I was going to be in that area of the neighborhood for a few hours. I have to be honest, I almost didn't take her in because of the condition of the property. It looks a little run down. Well, I'm glad I did and I feel ashamed of myself for judging a book by it's cover. These guys did a fabulous job! Wow, does service get any nicer than this!?! On our visit here we had our little Shih-Tzu groomed by the super cool shop owners (two guys, one grooms while the other works the counter). Cute little place! It reminded me of a little cottage. They had little pet (& human!) treats out and ample seating inside if you want to wait while they do your pet. THE PRICES are unbeatable & they give you 20% off if you're a new customer (they're new as well so I guess they're returning the favor if you use them vs. a bigger, corporate grooming place). Service was quick (it only took 'em 3 hours!) & again- uber nice! Our little baby looked so cute afterwards and we couldn't have been more pleased all in all. 5 STARS for being so awesome in every category!!!!! Too bad we don't live nearby anymore or this would be the only pet groomers we use! :( Keep up the good work APS! read more

Don't let the outside of this place deter you. It looks rundown but the service is 5 star. The owners were out of town on the day we tool my MILs poodle. I was looking for somewhere other than Petsmart to take her. I read the other reviews and decided why not. So pleased with the way she looks. They did everything I requested and the price was very reasonable. They told us an approximate time she would be ready and they called within ten minutes of that time. They also do cats, which is hard to find. We will definitely take her back. read more

Had my doubts for sure, even while in the pet salon but definitely do not judge a book by its cover on this one. The workers were extremely polite and accommodating to my Alaskan Malamute & Great Pyrenees. They addressed all my concerns and assured me when I leave that if anything were to arise, do not hesitate to call or bring them back up. Great customer service and true love/passion for the dogs. That's who I want grooming my loved ones. My family and I will definitely be taking the dogs back at their next appointment. And highly recommend even though not the fanciest of places. read more

We recently took our 20lb cats to get their hair balls shaved off, we had to sedate them before we took them hoping they wouldn't tear the groomers arms off. When we got there they were both awesome! Made us feel very comfortable and they were very funny as well! So glad we took them here, it made it so much easier to just drop em off and when we came back the cats both had lion cuts and looked amazing! No hair balls! I would recommend this place to anyone with cats! Great place! read more

Above and beyond! This small town grooming business is always busy but there's no question why. It may not look like much on the outside but as with any business it's the people that make the biggest difference. The one behind the counter, the main groomer is great with pets. Have taken both my dogs here and he knew what I wanted done before I even did. The guy that runs the front counter is great with the pet owners. I drove by this tiny shack a million times without even realizing what it was. My dog got some type of black tar-like substance in her very thick coat, and the other groomer in Azle was completely booked so I did a Google search and found out about this place. I will never, ever take my dog anywhere else. She LOVED it there. I had a hard time making her leave because she adored the employees and owner so much. They babied her, played with her, and made her so comfortable as they cleaned and groomed her. And I have no tiny dog either. She's a big, hyper Siberian Husky. She was extremely nervous going in, but now gets excited everytime we pull up. Nice, nice people. No better or more friendly place to take your pets. read more

They are doing an amazing job! Bibi and Bolt came out happy and fresh. I couldn't do nail trim because I am scared to hurt my dogs. I asked them if they could clip my dog's nail. It is my dogs' first-time groomer since summer. When my dogs came 3rd visit, they are excited to see Anthony and Frederick. I would recommend to friends and family to come to Azle Pet Salon. I did recommend it to my mom and my sister. My mom's dog got here for bath and nail trim, my sister will bring her dog to the groomer. She hates PetSmart. I'm writing this review in response to Yelp reviewer Barbara L. Who is an absolute liar. I know for certain that the day in question she says the groomers at this facility shoved her out the door...THEY WEREN'T OPEN!!!! They had closed the shop that day due to a local festival called the Sting Fling here in Azle, Tx. Not only do I know they were closed, but I personally saw them AT THE FESTIVAL. Furthermore, I have a degree in veterinary medicine, zoology and biology. It is not possible to get an ear infection from allegedly dirty grooming instruments in one day. Ear infections in dogs are usually caused due to yeast trapped in the ear or because of that dogs nasal allergies. If this woman claims her dog instantly had an ear infection, she's a liar. Also, the dog in the picture on her review is not a Bichon Freise. It is a Miniature Poodle. If she isn't even able to get her dog breed correct, why would believe anything she says? Now: MY review of Azle Pet Salon. I have a seizure alert dog who is difficult to groom and hates being groomed. I don't trust my $50,000 dog to just anyone. But I trust Frederick, Anthony, Daniel and Shelly implicitly. They have ALWAYS done an excellent job. There has never once been razor burn or marks where she was shaved too close. Not only does my dog look wonderful when I pick her up but she actually enjoys going TO the groomer, she has never enjoyed visiting any other groomer in her nine years (she's been going to APS for 3 years). Furthermore, the boys are friendly and loving to their customers; they rescue abandoned animals and contribute greatly to our community. You should be ashamed of yourself Barbara L. If you're a local or a traveler in need of an excellent pet stylist, look no further than the Azle Pet Salon. It's owner, Anthony, is an incredibly delightful stylist that welcomes most customers with a hug and a huge smile while also paying intense attention to your pets. Within their walls, your pet is going to receive treatment that would otherwise cost you many times as much from other, less reputable salons. For years, I have brought my poodle to them and for all those years, I have never once walked out with anything less than an ear to ear smile. Upon entering, they greet you as if you are a long lost member of their family, ask if you would like a free coffee, and even offer complimentary Godiva chocolates. If the owner, Anthony is busy with a dog, his exceptionally friendly staff more than make up for his absence, as they are all pet lovers. Being that the salon is in the quiet city of Azle, they warm up to new people very quickly, offering the same treatment as anyone else that walks in their doors. Once, when they had missed clipping "Bubbles" nails, I brought him in and they dropped what they were doing and quickly took care of him. Never, in all my days, have I ever felt more at home in a business than in their tiny shop. Their main receptionist, Frederick, is unrivaled, at least in my opinion, on the terms of customer treatment and guaranteeing a wonderful experience within. Until the sun stops shining, I foresee a long, continued business relationship between us, for they certainly know how to make any breathing being, be it furry or talking, seem right at home. The owner and what I would call his right hand man are always above and beyond friendly. The place is small and you do wonder how can they function but I'm not leaving my dog there overnight. We were new to Azle in September 2013 so we needed a new groomer. We have a Shih-Tzu, Doberman and a Standard Poodle in our family. The Shih-Tzu was fairly new to our family and I wasn't as concerned about her, but our poodle had been groomed by the same groomer for 4 years, so I was concerned about the change for him; our Doberman is a barker and didn't like a lot of people so I was also concerned about changing him, however the we really wanted someone close. On a chance we found Azle Pet Salon. Frederick the scheduler and the front desk worker was very nice and made me feel very welcome when I first called. When I arrived I was surprised the place was really small compared to the superstores we were used to but immediately when we went in we knew we made the right choice. Anthony, the owner and the groomer, came right up to Bernie, the poodle and Baby Princess, the Shih-Tzu took to him right away. Bernie was a little matted and I was expecting a little less than a perfect cut. When I got them home they were PERFECT! You would have never known he had been a little matted and Baby Princess was as beautiful as ever. The staff were very courteous, and provided the extras; gourmet chocolates and sodas or water. It was very obvious they treat both the pets and the customers like family. Oh, and the Doberman, well he still doesn't like his hair dried, but the Daniel the bather does a wonderful job with him. Also, their prices are unbeatable, however I would pay much more to get the service that I get from Frederick, Anthony and Daniel. They are the best! read more
