I liked him, we chatted, I showed him my fence and he gave me two verbal numbers depending on much of the fence we decided to rebuild. He then said he's send me over the actual quote with a couple of pictures of options, so I could discuss with my neighbors. And then... nothing. I never got the quote or pictures. I send numerous text messages asking nicely for it. I called and left him a voicemail. I sent two emails through the website. Someone on Facebook who claims to know him well even supposedly messaged him on my behalf. Still zero reply. This person needs to go and take a simple course in client management. Why bother coming to my house, wasting my time if you 1) seemingly don't want to do the job and 2) can't even manage the decently a reply. I even point blank asked, if you don't want to do the job, at least just TELL me so I know. Zero reply to any attempts to make contact. I was going to hire them to do the job. I explained the issue to him and he said, cheerfully, "Oh, you have a sensor problem! I can tell you how to fix it - very simple!" I went out to the garage and located the sensor. I saw immediately that a box had fallen in front of the sensor, blocking it. It worked perfectly after removing the box! Also, there was a dust ball blocking the sensor. Perhaps another vendor would have come out for the service call fee, (or more) and since I am not mechanically inclined I wouldn't have been any wiser. They gave us a sliding scale depending on labor for specific jobs. When they invoiced us, they included receipts for parts... this is something that we rarely see but it creates a sense of trust and honesty. There are no surprises. Our first job was a lesser, more simple, job-we had at few sockets replaced one of which was a very loose socket that we were concerned about arcing. The second job was more extensive as there were several "needs" in one day.
