Wow - what great service. These guys and gal have customer service figured out. Their price was competitive- maybe a couple of bucks more but totally worth it. They came to our site, we had a specific need to fix our substandard Rohnert Park driveway (If you live in RP you know...). The team knew our construction fail in the initial driveway install, they also had a plan for adobe soil and put not 1 but 2 plastic barriers. A construction pal Saw the rebar and commented on it being overbuilt - which was a good thing. Not satisfied with one visit they came back again and took more measurements. The team showed a week later and bam, in 4 days this was done. We have a small issue to grind down but even then with the job done they came here on a Saturday and figured out how to fix a small area. Finally, I chose a standard finish and they gave me extra. Smooth Style Concrete Construction, Incorporated has its own pumping machinery and pipes.  They are a one-stop shop when it comes to ordering, pumping, and pouring concrete into 15 foundation pads for our new 1200 sq ft deck.  They have good partnerships in securing the concrete and are very good at pouring the right amount of concrete needed. Afterwards, they take the time to level and remove excess. 'Smooth Style' is an extremely accurate description of the work that Hector and his family owned business has done for us. After partnering with a contractor to demo our carport, a beautifully executed slab by Hector and his crew allowed us to install a new shed in its place. In addition, Smooth Style seamlessly integrated a retaining wall with our existing structure and driveway. The slab was smooth and styled - per the description. The concrete work next to our driveway blended seamlessly with our existing foundation. The rest of the ground concrete they did was angled to shed rain down our driveway and work with the existing slope of our asphalt. They took everything into consideration. The leveling, the precise measurements, etc. They took the extra step to match the coloration of the concrete from our previous work on the property so that the concrete matched our other job. I read the other reviews and i disagree with the 3 star review. Initially i had Hector and his team out to pour 225 SQFT of concrete. I needed it down the side of the house and a pad for the Hot Tub and AC. To save on cost i requested the two pads be separate. Hector cam out and pour the concrete as requested except free of charge poured it as one complete slab. He also added Re bar to reinforce the entire slab. Additionally, after seeking my wife's permission rather than doing a brushed look he added shimmer to the concrete and stamped it for free.... The end results looked great!. As a side not during a break my 4 Year old saw the Ice cream truck and was told no mommy did not have enough cash. Once of hectors guys took it upon himself to buy her some ice cream. After such a great job on the first pour we decided to have him pour a second slab extending the first. He did a great job combining the two and the second looks just as good as the first. I would recommend Hector and his team to anyone.... oh did I mention he was also cheaper than any licensed contractor in the area! We have a large patio that was severely impacted by the neighbor's redwood tree roots. Based on a recommendation from another neighbor, I called Hector (along with several other companies). He came out and bid the job in September and we decided to use his company for the work, but then the huge firestorm happened here and everything in Sonoma County was turned upside-down. Our house did not burn, but I was slightly nervous to begin the work because we had been hearing about so many contractors raising prices and not honoring bids given before the fire. I should not have worried at all; Hector and his crew came out, jackhammered up the raised (by about 5") concrete sections, dug out the roots (some as large as 10' long and 12" in diameter), and poured and finished the new sections in about a day and a half, along with a new larger and much nicer step from the house. They were prompt, efficient, polite (which is quite an understatement - they were actually REALLY NICE GUYS), and hard-working. When I expressed amazement at how hard they were working on those roots, they just smiled and said that it's their job. In the process, they also repaired part of our RV parking space that connects through a gate to the patio at no extra charge. Oh, yeah, he even came back and smoothed it all out again after a cat walked across it, and I'm fairly certain that it was our cat! My dad was a home builder and I used to work with him, so have dealt with many contractors and sub-contractors and have some background regarding good and bad work. I don't recommend lightly, but we are EXTREMELY happy with their work here, and I would give them 10 stars if it were an option. No hesitation whatsoever. We are more than happy. Way more. read more

I asked for an estimate for a 300 sf stamped concrete patio, to have rounded edges, and to be about an inch above the ground as most concrete patios are, and be strong enough to hold a 4500 lb hot tub which was to be on a level part of the patio and the other to be slopped as standard. Typically this would require digging down 6 inches, having 2-3 inches of base and 4 inches of concrete as a minimum. maybe more. Hector had the lower bid by about 600 and said he would also include taking out the old steps so the new ones would match. The first issue was that he dug down only about 3 inches and declared I should help him out and not need deeper because he said he didnt realize there was so much dirt under the ground. He jack hammered the old steps for about 15 minutes and then said he could not take them out he would have to go over them. He did not come prepared to round the corners and said it would be better not to to accommodate the square patterns on the stamps. I said ok. He ended up putting down 1.5 inches of base and because of not digging down deep enough virtually the entire thickness of the patio is 3.5-4 inches above ground level. The part under the hot tub is not made to be level but adjusted a bit by hand and has a 1/2 inch slope on one side and one inch on the other. Its not level but it may be close enough- I will have to see. To his credit they did put rebar under the concrete. He marked a point on the building where the step should go for height and then didnt put them there. There is an 8 inch drop for the first step a 7 inch drop for the second and a 6 inch drop for the third. At the edge of the patio was the control panel for the yard sprinklers. They could have been tied up out the the way but for some reason he decided to just cut all the wires from the sprinkler control to the sprinklers for the entire yard. He suggested he needed 5 expansion joints but put in 3 saying he didnt need the others cause the run was only 20 feet. Later when I questioned this after it was dry he decided to cut in one more expansion joint. So I have 3 troweled in joints and one cut in joint. At the end he suggested I may not want the stamped look because " it might look too busy". But i said he should do that. That was the idea. I have some questions whether it will be strong enough for the tub but that remains to be seen. In the end the patio does not look great but it also doesnt look bad. It is close to what I wanted. Its 3 inches too high and the steps arent equal. I will have to see if it holds the tub. I will be sealing it myself. In numerous choices made Hector didnt follow what was wanted but what would save him time. read more

Our back yard is amazing! Thanks to Smooth Style, we are now able to enjoy our back yard year round. We originally wanted a slab of concrete for a table and the steps outside the doors. After Hector and his crew finished the steps we knew we had to do more! We decided to make this small project into a much bigger one! After telling Hector we wanted to put a roof and make a fire pit area he said no problem and came up with a wonderful design. He also made sure the posts would be sturdy by digging in a few feet and pouring some extra concrete. The color we chose gives it some warmth and the stamping makes it fancy! Hector and his crew did a great job. We called him to give us a second opinion (unknown to him) and he came in better. He knows what needs to be done with drainage too and gives great suggestions. We had him take out some grass next to our driveway and pour a new driveway to extend our parking area. It looks great and he incorporated the downspout from the side of the house to shoot out to the curb. We removed a deck off the master and had him pour a concrete patio and steps from the master bedroom with a hot tub pad. He ended up having to dig up an old concrete pad that was hidden under dirt even after we removed the deck. He also put in a drain along the sidewalk to extend out to a french drain we are doing to help remove water away from the house. He even referred me to a landscaper who helps with design too. Two of my neighbors have already reached out to Hector to have some work done at their house too. read more

Hector was accommodating and came out within 1 week to get the job done in a rainy time of year. He worked with with one other guy to pour a pad which was 6' x 20' and 4 inches deep. It was a good job and he was very helpful in modifying the location of where I wanted to put the pad at the last minute. We are pleased and the price was fair. A 3500lb horse treadmill is now sitting on top and it's holding up nicely! read more

I had been looking for someone to do some concrete pathways in my yard for quite awhile without much success. I prefer to use someone who has been referred to me, but I wasn't haven't much luck with that either. I decided to check Yelp and found the number for Smooth Concrete. I called Hector and he came out to measure that same day. He had an estimate for me by the next morning, which seemed very reasonable based on other estimates that I received. He said he could start the next day. He and his crew arrived at the designated time. It was actually quite fascinating to watch them work together so efficiently to get the job done. Hector is soft spoken and very respectful to his employees. They all worked so hard and I was surprised to find that they planned to be finished by the end of the day. The end result went far beyond my expectations. I had been ambivalent on how I wanted the walkway to curve and his ideas were very artistic. He also matched the existing concrete perfectly, which couldn't have been easy as it was a salt and pepper finish. Hector personally came back the next morning to remove the forms and check the work. Other than the beautiful walkway, there was no evidence that work had been done as they did an excellent job of cleaning up. Overall, I highly recommend Smooth Concrete.
