I have used this company since I bought my house in 2014. Earlier this year my fireplace stopped working. I assumed my tanks were empty. So I ordered replacements. They came to swap out the tanks only to find out both of them had gas (one was full and the other had "less than the other" per the service guy.) You would think they would take the tanks they brought out to replace the tanks and credit me the $347 I spent for the replacements and just charge me for a service call. Instead they took the tanks that I paid for last year that had gas in them. So I lost the propane charge from 2021 (last year's charge was $220) and paid for 2 full tanks ($347). Will definitely be searching for other options for next season. VERY DISAPPOINTED CUSTOMER read more

I've been with Azalea Gas for almost 2 years!! I'm not sure why they have such a bad rating! I've always had a smooth experience with them! We have a new construction and they came out to put in the tanks and to connect my gas stove! At the time they were the only company in town that could have it done within 2 weeks! Every other company in town was telling me 2-4 months! Also the price for new hook up and tank rentals was the most reasonable in town! My technician was very polite and efficient. I've never had any problems even with my tank refills... always done promptly! I've even suggested them to some of my neighbors and they are pleased as well. read more

Tanks are empty and I want to switch to Suburban. To pick up the tanks they made me set up an online account and charged me $75 to remove the old tanks. They would not schedule it over the phone. They added fees so I had to agree to a $90 charge to get them to come get the tanks. read more

Trust the reviews... with that said and just like every other review ever posted for Azalea Gas, the customer service and business ethics this company practices are awful. We used Azalea Gas (we no longer will) for about a year now. Recently one of our propane tanks we noticed expired and needed to be filled so we called the company to come deliver a new tank and pick up the old one. My husband thought he was helping them out by putting the old tank in our garage so all they needed to do was load it in the tank. With that said.... Today (7 days before Christmas) while we were not home, they went into our backyard with out notice, and cut the lines and pulled out the piping to our fireplace and took our propane tank ( that still had gas in it... we ran the fire this morning and it worked fine!!... they tried telling us we were lying and there was no gas in it). We happened to just be pulling up to our house as they were loading our not empty propane tank that they took from us. So instead of delivering us a new full tank, they pulled out our entire outdoor piping and took our tanks leaving us with no fireplace hook ups for Christmas!!! They said they had to take everything because my husband removed the one tank and it was a liability issue and we needed a completely new installation since he disconnected one freaking tank.....that is complete crap! We are so upset because they did this with no warning, no permission (to enter our backyard while we weren't home), and did this a few days before Christmas leaving us with no fireplace for the holidays. Read the reviews.. they don't lie. This is a horrible company. They even charged us for the tank they never delivered... hoping it won't be a difficult experience getting our money back but I'm not holding my breath.... They lost a customer (including my neighbors who also will be cancelling their services) all because they got pissed my husband removed a tank (which he only did because he thought he was helping) and felt the need to rip out our piping and remove everything so that they can recharge us for a new installation and new tanks!!! They are a scam! Also they never answer their phones.... if you google the company and read the reviews other people have left on other sites you will see the company respond to every complaint and belittle each customer complaint. Another sign of a terrible business practice. Beware of this company. read more

Poor service! We are going to put an addition on our house. An employee happened to call about an unrelated matter. I tried to schedule a time so they could pick up the tanks. I was told I had to get on the internet and schedule a time to pick up the tanks. I was surprised why would i need to get on the internet and schedule a time for a tank removal that cost $75.00 by the way, when i am on the phone with the manager now? The manager said it takes very little time to log on and schedule a time for pick up. He stated the length of time we had been on the phone you could have...........i interrupted him and said you could have scheduled a pick up minutes ago. All of this and we couldn't even use our gas fire place because no one would help us get a $250.00 part that we needed three years ago. read more

These people are not worth the time or money. TERRIBLE customer service, always calling and asking for additional or missed payments. Read the reviews and be aware to stay away. VERY UNPROFESSIONAL OWNER read more

I bought a house that had their tanks. I was waiting on a response to what refill prices were, how billing worked....And one day ...with ZERO notice or attempts of such, they got into my backyard when I was NOT home and removed the tanks, and left a mess behind. Plus my dog was sick when I got home cause she was freaking out with someone in and out of the yard. I wouldn't have known what even happened unless someone saw it happen...so I contacted Azalea and they blamed it on the prior owner?? I have had nothing but great experiences in Wilmington, except for this company. read more

I never do reviews but this is ridiculous. We recently sold our home and both of our rented tanks were full two 100# tanks. The new owners didn't want them, so called Azalea and they do not reimburse for "used gas" and further more charge $81 dollars to remove there tanks. And yeah also a $150 fee a year for renting. Stay away! read more

Extremely poor customer service. We have an unresolved issue from over 1 year ago. They also damaged our fireplace at install and the sales manager just shook his head and said "well, I'm only one guy trying to lift this." Neither me, my husband or contractor has been able to reach the company. I strongly advise working with another fire and propane service in town. Anyone is better than this woeful company. read more

Look elsewhere. This is not where you want to place the safety of you and your family! AWEFUL COMPANY!!! They delivered a tank in November 2014 and about two hours after the technician left the tank had a MAJOR leak, so bad it filled the entire neighborhood (Sagewood in Plantation Landing) with the smell of Propane. So bad if someone would have drove by and light a cigarette our house and everything around it would have blown up. We called their emergency line and it took them over an hour to get to our house. After taking the tanks back to their facility they technician called me and left a message saying it was our fault and that someone tampered with the tanks. NOPE, not me or my wife left the house!! The owner called and apologized. Saying it happens from time to time. They reinstalled the tanks and within the first two weeks one of the tanks was completely empty. I Called in once again and they stated that they normally last about 60 hours..... We ran our Fireplace only for 12-15 hours. DO NOT TRUST THIS COMPANY!!! I have nothing nice to say about them and I am going to let everyone know! read more

I did not trust the reviews....Please do!!! This company has extremely poor service. They don't show up for confirmed appointments and then make excuses and basically call the customer a liar. When they do show up they don't have the knowledge to complete the job or will try to up sell you on something else. They won't complete the job stating "well it is not on the work order" even though that is the service you called to set up. They will take your money and leave you with nothing to show for it. Please....there is a reason you have to wait to get service with all the other local companies and why this group can come out right away. They are not ethical, they don't complete the job, and they don't know their business. Don't do it. It will be an expense with no reward. I'd like to give less than one star. read more

BEWARE!! This company charged me for installation of line, regulator and pad for propane tanks when these were already installed. Service tech at time of installation said they have to charge for these whether or not they are existing. Then at time of lease cancellation I'm told they are going to take these items(regulator & pad) back when they were never the property of Azalea Gas in the first place. This is the first review I have written online, but felt it was my responsibility as a consumer to do so in hopes that it will help someone else. Also, I did try to reach out and give them a chance to right this wrong, but when I brought this up to David he was rude and inconsiderate. read more

Absolutely would NOT recommend this company. For the past 8 years they were our Propane supplier for our Wilmington NC home and while I felt their prices were high and their additional fees annoying they were adequate enough to not change vendors. However our recent experience should be a warning to anyone thinking of or currently using them. We had two 100 LB tanks and when one was empty they would exchange it for a full one within a few days. After a recent exchange my wife noticed a strong smell of gas in our backyard the next day (I was out of town). She went to check the tank area and the gas odor was very strong around the tanks and she heard gas leaking. She called the Azalea Gas emergency number and their response was, "Shut off the tanks and we will stop by when we are in the area to check the connection". As she called back on Monday to find out when they would be in the area they informed her that it would be Thursday. We cook with propane. One week to respond to an emergency is not good customer service. They stopped by to check when we were not home and left a note that there was nothing wrong and a bill for $134 for checking on the leak. We turned the gas back on and no gas odor or leaking sounds. The $134 invoice was charged to our credit card and included not only a Fuel Surcharge but State and Federal Regulatory fees. We decided that we would change vendors and they then charged our credit card $70 to pick up their tanks one of which was near empty from the leak. There are many other vendors that charge less per gallon and do not add all of the fees that Azalea does. Beware of this company! read more

Very disappointed in the customer service. We were quoted $250 for propane hook up for gas fireplace logs. Over $1000 later the very next day after the install the unit would not work. Unit was under a 90 day warranty. Azalea gas came out about a week later to check things out and charged us another $100 just for the service call. This company charged a credit card they used for the original install without our authorization. Absolutely DO NOT TRUST this company!!!! read more
