We rented a climate controlled storage unit in Jan of 2018. Had auto debit which got constantly messed up in the past 3 months to the point we couldn't get into our storage. So frustrating, but that is nothing to compare with the poor customer service. I had my furniture moved to my new home Monday 1/21/19 and as soon as the movers got here they told me, "That unit was rat infested." I couldn't believe it. As they started unloading my furniture I saw rat droppings coming out of my leather furniture and boxes everywhere! My Flexsteel living room set infested. Boxes full of rat dropping and damage in almost every single box. I have taken pictures and called them immediately after I saw the damage. Absolutely no customer service. I got the answer "Oh that is terrible, I'm so sorry, but you did take the "insurance that would have covered that." I explained if I had known there were rats we would not have used them. Zero sympathy and no plans to try and either fix the problem or at least refund a few months rental cost.
When I cleaned out the unit I took more pics and all the evidence of the damage they had done to my sofa. I again asked the "manager" or at least she said she was what they would do. "Sorry, but there isn't anything we can do." I asked to speak to the corporate office or owner. She said, "This is the only office, but I will email the owner." As of today not a word, email, or anything else from the owner.
I have stored furniture in many places for a lot longer and NEVER have I had this damage. We didn't have any food, nothing that would 'bring them in' as she said. I paid the extra price for climate controlled. I might as well have went to the cheaper outside units.
Please use someone else because you sure can't do any worse! read more
