My concern was that I felt the result was very different from what I hoped. I was disappointed. I hoped to have one of the nicest properties in the community, and instead I felt a little embarrassed. This is my fault, but I was out of the country for a couple of months while the company was doing the install, and I was too busy to give the project the careful thought that it required. After being in the house for one week, I decided that I was unhappy enough to be feel bad instead of happy about my new front and back yards. I decided to find another landscaper to totally redo the landscaping. I had seen the Desert Sage Landscaping truck several times over the past few months working on nicely landscaped properties (I rented a house in the community for 8 moths while they built my house). I liked what I saw. I talked with one of the guys and he took me to the owner, Miguel. I liked having the owner actively maintaining landscapes because that gave me confidence that he had a lot of practical, on the job experience with plants in our desert environment. I showed him my front and back yards and told him what I wanted done. I asked him about many plants that I liked and he told me what was good and what was bad. He was speaking from experience in maintaining so many properties. He gave me a plan within 24 hours and began a couple of days later. He and his crew spent about a week replacing the walkways and plants, and adding boulders, hills, irrigation, lights and many plants. The price was reasonable and the result is excellent. The bad--Apparently the usual scenario--Initially they promise you the moon but fall far short. Numerous promises to show up were broken. He brought the wrong bushes and the artificial turf he installed had two obvious seams. The irrigation timer he installed and set himself failed The trees suffered and looked dead. The bushes looked frozen in time except for 1 of the 8 that stayed green. Of course he said it was my fault the timer failed. After numerous additional promises to replace the sorry looking trees and bushes his guys finally showed up. They spent two hours fixing the timer. Of course Hector magnanimously offered to waive his usual fee for the two hours. Never again.

Last Saturday we had a big problem... it flooded the northeast corner of our lot. I csearch Yelp for drip system repairs and Yelp provided AZ Junk Busters. I called and spoke with Sergio. After explaining the problem, he said he could come out the next day. The problem was caused by a large tree root that had crowded and eventually cracked the PVC pipe. Long story short, he spent a day and a half rerouting the PVC line to ensure it wouldn't happen again and did it for a very reasonable price. Sergio is very professional and polite. He kept calling me "Sir" until I told him that was my dad. He did an exceptional repair and restored the area and closely as possible to what it was before. He is an extremely hard worker. Not even knowing where to start, one day my wife just went into their store front to ask some questions since we drive past it every Sunday morning on our way to church. We did not have any referrals or know anything about his company beforehand. The office manager was super helpful and scheduled for Juan to come out to discuss more details. Juan came out and listened to our vision and ideas and offered a lot of good suggestions, but never tried to upsell with pushy sales tactics. He was honest, realistic and up front about all the detailed questions we asked. Within a couple of days, he put together some estimates with different options for us to consider with a design rendering. We had a couple of other companies come out also for estimates. Juan's estimates were reasonable, but it was really his expertise, honesty, and attention to detail that made us very comfortable with choosing Quality Turf. We approved the job bid on a Friday and the crew showed up the following Monday at 07:00 as promised - the project began! The crew showed up at 0715 every morning to start work, informing us what was to be done the day of and a couple of days ahead so we could plan our days. Juan was managing the project himself and came most every day to talk to us, answer any questions, and to make sure the work was done to his standards. This allowed us to avoid or minimize any rework because of inadequate or inaccurate communications. The crew worked fast, hard, and efficiently. They covered our newly redone pool every week before they started work to keep it clean and took the covers off on Sundays so our kids could use it. The crew always did thorough clean up everyday after they were done so there wouldn't be any mess in and around our property. They went above and beyond to make us happy! As the back yard was being worked on, Juan also worked with us and provided the plan with all the details for HOA approval for the front. We had Juan's team do a lot since we have a very large back yard - turf, pavers, fire pit, gazebo, plants, lighting, and so on. The project from start to finish took exactly 3 weeks as he estimated, except this also included some extra stuff that was not part of the initial project scope. When all the work was completed, Juan gave us a thorough walk-through and gave us tips and tricks on maintenance and on how to use some of the new infrastructure and equipment they'd put in. A few days later, he came back again to check whether we needed anything else and brought firewood for our fire pit and water guns, swim goggles, and bubble canon for our kids (after checking to make sure we'd be Ok with those)! There was one plant that wasn't doing too well from his own inspections - we didn't even notice or ask him. He assured us that they would warranty and replace it if it continued to not do well in the next couple of weeks. What amazing post project hypercare customer service and personal sweet and nice gestures! Our front and back yards have been transformed completely! Now we have plenty of elegant and usable space to entertain and let our little ones play in! Thank you, Juan and crew!
