After a bit of a discussion, I was informed a board and train would be the best option but he was suggesting to do weekly training so I could learn more from the experience to pass down to my other five dogs. I have passed along a lot of the tips and trainings to my other dogs and the whole dynamic at home has really changed for the better. I have also gotten more into the training techniques and trainers that Don recommended and everything as a whole is aiding me in obtaining a better understanding of the relationship between a girl and her dogs.

She's a sweet girl who's transitioned wonderfully from a quiet rescue (at 9 months) to a fun, playful, obedient (well, mostly), and happy best friend. We set up four training sessions with Mike M. and had such a good and productive time that we did four more, and Murphy-Lou is doing great! She's mastered all the basics (i.e., sit, come, down, heel, off, place, etc.) and she no longer just ignores me when interested in something else, but turns to me glaring, "I am a Coonhound, you oaf, just one moment, there is a leaf here and I must give it appropriate consideration", and when finished she'll walk over and sit next to my foot. Mike is abundantly knowledgeable, experienced, patient, and super friendly... and he's also very considerate in trying not to sound critical of my own efforts training Murphy -- a couple of times I've told him, "don't worry about hurting my feelings, if I need to do something differently just let me know -- I'm the one who needs training!" A colleagusuggested that I try a dog trainer named Bob Solomini that he had used in the past. His passion and confidence in Bob convinced me and even though I was very skeptical and worn out I decided to give it one last try. I am excited to tell you about my invaluable experience and what I learned from it: -my dog was only a small part of the problem, but the majority of the behavioral problems stemmed from me. Dogs aren't born knowing how to behave the way humans would like them to, so we as responsible dog owners need to teach them. -we don't automatically realize what we are doing wrong and unless a true professional who really cares can teach us the correct way we can't be sure that we will ultimately have a happy relationship with our pet. -after four years of pulling my hair out and stressful walks with my dog I wound up moving to a new neighborhood, and my dog was totally out of control when I walked him. When he saw people with dogs, he went crazy and I could not stop him from barking and pulling. In fact, he pulled me down a couple of times where I sprained my ankle and another time where I hurt my knee. In fact, most of my neighbors walked the other way when they saw us and complained about my dog's bad behavior. After the first lesson, I immediately knew that I had found something different. The transformation after finishing the program is incredible. I now have the confidence to take Dovi into any environment and know that I can keep his attention. If I could give zero stars, I would. My husband and I hired Robert Murtaugh of Condition K-9 for 8…read morein-home dog training sessions, paying $1,195 upfront. Things started fine-ish, but by the 3rd visit, the problems began. Robert missed a scheduled session without calling or texting. When I finally reached him, he rescheduled for the next day and we explicitly confirmed he would be at our next regular session the following week. However, he no-showed again, no call or text. I called and left a voicemail. When he finally called back, he blamed the holiday weekend followed by other excuses, but he had known about the holiday and never communicated the need to cancel. He even used the excuse that he had been to too many Pink Floyd concerts and forgot. Due to the lack of professionalism, we decided to end the training. We had received 4 visits (including the evaluation which turned into an evaluation/session), meaning we were owed a refund of $597.50. Instead, Robert insisted we switch to a different plan we never asked for, claiming our refund would only be $400. He constantly delayed us. He also claimed that he did not understand why we were upset with him and kept on with his excuses. When I refused to let it go regarding the refund, he ended with someone named "Mo" would call to handle it between 10:00 and 5:00 the next day and that he's "done talking about this". I had to text Robert the next day that I had not been contacted in that time frame. Mo then reached out. We agreed to the refund of $400.00 to get it over with and received it via Venmo. Getting our money back proved to be a nightmare, one that we are glad to be over. Based on what my husband and I experienced, this is our personal opinion: Save your time and money. Look elsewhere for a dependable dog trainer.
