I've passed this place a few times, and I'd always thought it looked like the sort of place you'd go for a big Mexican themed party, America-style. There's not much around and I really didn't want a Pret, so I went in for a bite before a meeting.
My fears were confirmed before I sat down. 1330 on a Friday and there was a studenty birthday group all in sombreros. I didn't - yet - see any tequila shots, but I was afeared. I didn't have a lot of time, so I went ahead and sat down - it could be good, right?
Wrong.
There's a fairly reasonable lunch menu. Burritos, tacos, enchiladas. I went for the tacos, crispy.
I got 4 stale taco shells, a ramequin with about a tablespoon of fairly decent salsa, another ramequin with about a tablespoon of minced onions and coriander, and a dub of limp stewed oily chicken.
Service was indifferent. read more
